Had a wonderful experience at Doctor Santos office! The front desk staff was super friendly & attentive. Because of COVID restrictions we had to knock on the door when arriving for our appointment and were instructed to sanitize and where to sit at a safe, social distance from others. The check in process was easy and simple, especially if you use the ZocDoc app in advance to fill out your forms beforehand (although I imagine with the great front desk staff it would be a pleasant experience w/out the app as well)! I waited about 20 minutes which was not bad at all, I was offered water & updated when I would be seen which was nice. Meeting Dr.Santos was a great experience, she was friendly and attentive to my needs. The medical assistant working was also very friendly, personable and helpful! He did my intake for my visit, blood pressure and blood work. I went in for an annual physical and Dr.Santos did a thorough check up and then we sat together discussing my Heath and any questions/concerns I had. She was super helpful addressing my concerns, and seemed very genuine and thoughtful about addressing my questions. It really was such a pleasant experience. I especially loved how they did the blood work/urine test right after my appointment right down the hallway. Super convenient! Overall the staff was very friendly, the office itself was clean & appealing and all enforcements were in place in terms of covid safety protocols. Honestly this was the worst doctors office I've ever been to, it has nothing to do with the staff cause they're all kind but honestly you wait forever to not even be seen by the doctor and when you are seen the whole thing feels so rushed. I told them about a concern I was having and they were like "change your diet and we'll follow up in 2 months" that was almost a year ago lol I will be looking for a new PCP since I feel this one personally didn't do anything for me. read more

I barely post on yelp, but I have to when there is an exceptionally good experience or an extremely bad experience with service. Well, the one star will tell the tale as they really managed to screw up my appointments not once, not twice, but THREE times! Like really? 1) I make an appointment on Zocdoc back in April as a new patient late in the afternoon. I take off work early to go to my appointment and I call them advising that I'll be there soon for my appointment. They respond saying I don't have the appointment. I told them I made via zocdoc and I have email confirmation. They say that it is not in their system so they cannot see me. So why does zocdoc allow you to schedule appointments? They tell me that something is wrong with their system and ask if I can reschedule a few weeks later. So as I'm trying to to be patient and understanding, I say OK. 2) As I'm preparing to go to my rescheduled appointment a few weeks later, they call me out of nowhere telling me that Dr. Santos no longer sees new patients. Really? So your office rescheduled me from screwing up my first appointment and then screw up my second one. 3) Maybe from here, this is my fault since I still went to patiently see Dr. Santos because her Rego Park office is 2 blocks away from me. Guess what? I waited for more than 2 hours only to be seen for 5 minutes feeling like I was rushed. How did I wait for 2 hours and have a 5 minute consultation? It certainly was not like this waiting for patients to get their turn in front of me. 4) I go back to get my blood test a few weeks later in their woodside office as part of my annual physical. Guess what again? I waited for more than 2 hours where many patients are still in front of me and couldn't tell me how much longer it woukd take when I wasn't even supposed to see Dr. Santos and only get a 5 minute blood test, not to mention that you have to starve yourself the entire day for it. When you call their office, the recording says "No wait, by appointment only." In fact, an elderly lady in front of the line lost it saying she's diabetic and she's been waiting for more than 3 hours for the blood test and nobody seems to care. The receptionist was rude to tell her that she had to wait like everyone else and I had to step in to tell her how Dr. Santos' office is very disrespectful of people's time. This is not a walk in clinic! Paitents make appointments to be seen on a specific time. We understand delays happen, but 2-3 hours is unacceptable. At least inform your patients what their status is and not leave them in the dark so they can make arrangements. How would Dr. Santos like it if patients make appointments and never show up without informing the office? So, Dr. SANTOS, if you are reading this, I demand an explanation. In fact, it should be an apology. The core of your business is customer service and taking care of the health of your patients. tl;dr - Find a different doctor if you like to actually meet the person treating you or prioritize your experience/patient care at all I first tried to see this doctor a year ago and couldn't get an appointment for months but with limited insurance had no other options. They rescheduled my appointments twice but finally met with the NP or PA instead, which is fine and completely understandable. I figured I'd see Dr. Santos next time. A couple months later I got an ear infection and sore throat but couldn't get an appointment for about 5 weeks so I went to an urgent care center and paid out of pocket instead. When I needed my prescriptions to be authorized about 6 months after first going to the office, they demanded that I needed an appointment first - but couldn't get me in for about a month. This wasn't a problem 3 months prior when I needed them resurjo rises and no one told me a 6-month follow up would be required. Finally, when making my yearly physical appointment recently, I made it online for about a week out and they called and said that wasn't up to date and that Dr. Santos wouldn't be in the Rego Park office that day. I said okay, well I've never met her anyway so I can just see whoever. And they insisted that I instead travel to Woodside for my physical. At this point I had gotten a new insurance and decided to make an appointment with a different doctor. I made an appointment with them just in case at theWoodside location (for 6 weeks after my original appointment time) and now they've been calling me and emailing me about how I have an appointment coming up. I keep trying to call them back but can NEVER get an answer (which is not surprising at all, either). I even reached out to them via their website to cancel with no response. I had to create a profile through Healow just to cancel my appointment and any relationship with this practice. So Dr. Santos, or whoever was ACTUALLY going to see me, if you're reading this, I won't be there on Tuesday! read more

I take my mom here since its the closest doctors office to our house. Everytime we come here we always wait 2 hours or more for the doctor to see us despite the appointment we were given that day. I mean whats the point of even having an appointment when you have to wait all day anyway. Just to even get a hold of someone via phone to make an appointment is impossible. This Is suppose to be my mothers primary care physician. I don't know how this person can call herself a doctor when she has her assitants look over my mothet insteas of herself!!!! my mother was diagnosed with shingles a couple she needed a follow up with her so called dr but they wouldnt see her it took well over a month and half for her to be seen all so that she can look her over for 5min and say heres some pills! 2 months after my mother is in pain with a swollen arm goes to her and her assistant says oh its shingles my mother had a visit with her rheumatologist who took one look at her and said she had an infection in her arm and needed antibiotics now my mom is going to the ER bc she is in unbearable pain all because this so called doctor doesnt even have the time to look at her!!!!!! If anything happens to my mom you can be damn sure there will be a lawsuit coming your way for negligence and malpractice!!!!! I like Dr. Santos but greatly dislike her practice. I arrived at 1:45pm for a 3:10pm appointment. Plenty of time right? Wrong!! I wasn't seen until 4:05pm by a physician's assistant. I've been sick for a few days so I was already feeling unwell. What's worse, this girl who works there (she's putting us in these chairs like an assembly line) got in my face saying "I've been nothing but respectful to you!" RESPECTFUL? You believe it's respectful to keep someone waiting for over 2 hours??! She's responded with "that's not my fault." Who's fault is it?? This is not a free walk-in clinic. You are a private practice. People have to schedule appointments!! So clearly you are overbooking!! You are one office so don't blame the person scheduling the appointments. If I could give this place negative stars I would. Made a 5:10pm appointment for a follow up visit which I had to take due their incompetence on first attempt. I arrived at 4:45pm it's now 6:20pm and I still haven't been seen. The worst part is that no one acknowledges let alone apologises for their lateness. A guy who checked in after me for a 5:30pm appointment was seen before me. How does that make any sense?! Bathroom was disgusting with open cups of urine with test strips lays around. If you care about your health even in the slightest, the last thing you want to do is come here. Let's see...You call them and you are told by the automated robot that the front desk attendants are currently busy or there is a high volume of calls at the moment (almost every single time). Hmm okay. Then you go on zoc doc or, by a miracle, make an appointment through the phone. Cool. Next, you go to the office and wait a beautiful 1 hour and 15 mins minimum to be called in, if you're lucky. (Truth is, they overbook by a lot. Once I called to reschedule and they offered the exact 3:30 time slot I had previously set for myself on zocdoc). Finally you go in and you realize that you won't even get to see the doctor, and instead spend 5 minutes with a nurse practitioner...Hooray. On a side note, this is just the experience I've personally had. My mother used to go to this place before and used to get checked up by Dr. Santos herself. Because my mother is not very good at speaking English, she actually yelled at her for not being able to explain her symptoms correctly. I guess I would rather prefer a nice nurse practitioner giving me prescriptions rather than a rude doc...so its a win? Overall, it's disgraceful how unprofessional this entire place is. Why did I still choose to go here? It's close to home and I guess I'm a sucker for being treated like a second class citizen. Dr. Santos is an excellent doctor, but has now just about given up her practice to a physician's assistant. He just does not know how to talk to people. In addition, her staff tells you the doctor will be there for your appointment, but it turns out, she is not there. I visited Dr. Marissa Santos' clinic for three times. Since I was a new patient, I never see her personally even during my first visit. Her representatives were the nurses. No real doctor giving the advise. The fact that one of them asked me to stop taking my maintenance medication during the day my blood pressure is in a normal level. dr santos is a highly educated woman. she is well known in the Filipino community and most Filipinos have her as their PCP. She runs many clinics as well as other businesses. The wait time to be seen may be long but that's because she has a high volume of patients that goes both ways in dedication and commitment. People often forget there is only one doctor here LOL hence why at times there might be a long wait. she's tells the truth and may be brutally honest but that's because she doesn't like to sugar coat the real deal. If you can't handle a outspoken doctor she might not be for you. But if you love blunt and genuine doctors, then she's your person. read more
