I ordered their barbacoa plate with homemade corn tortillas. I am picky about my barbacoa and I've had bad barbacoa and this barbacoa was close to perfection as it was spiced to perfection and not even close to being stringy or dry. My over-easy eggs were also cooked to perfection. Plus one ordered her usual migas plate and exclaimed that this plate was also fantastic. There was enough food on her plate to easily split and it was a shame that even with my assistance we could only finish about two-thirds of the serving. Service was on point as we never lacked water or coffee refills. I also liked that a variety of sauces were provided with our meal. If you find yourself in Kenedy go where the locals go-to Taqueria Los Potros de Jalisco for a marvelous breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

We had pre-ordered our plates (beef or chicken fajitas mainly) and they started serving us about ten minutes after we sat down. There are about 50 of us. The four servers obviously have taken care of large groups before. Smooth, fast and efficient they are. The food was pretty good. The green sauce has a good kick. We had sopapillas and honey for dessert. A great ending to a good meal.

I usually request more salsa because the flavor is amazing! After a few dining experiences at Cerrito Bar & Grill, I've become a regular customer whenever driving down Hwy 181 for work. And I make sure I'm near Cerrito Bar & Grill just in time for lunch. Daily lunch specials are provided, including the iced tea. I've tried several menu items & lunch specials, everything has been consistently good, generous portion. My favorites so far are the Carne Asada Tacos Plate & The Texas Plate which includes Carne Guisada & Cheese Enchiladas. The Carne Guisada is very good, reminded me of the traditional recipe I use to enjoy as a child. With so many variations of Carne Guisada recipes out there in many restaurants, Cerrito Bar & Grill certainly brought back childhood memories. Cheese Enchiladas are also very good. I usually substitute refried beans for charro, definitely worth it! Tortillas are homemade, both flour & corn. I usually request my tortillas well done for added flavor. I'm not a fan of under cooked tortillas. Service level is consistently good, except sometimes service level could be slow on trying to get a iced tea refill. I usually also request a " to go" cup ahead of time. For the most part, I've enjoyed every dining experience, look forward to exploring the menu many more times!
