I called the Brentwood branch on Saturday as no update had been made and received assistance with the tracking issues. Lori was very gracious in explaining that updates are provided when a driver arrives at a post office and the mail is logged. The gist? What I saw on the tracking website was what Lori saw. There was no much she could do aside from checking when the package arrived at our local branch. I received a call from Lori this morning where she informed me that the package was on site and would be delivered by our local carrier today. I'm still highly disappointed by the USPS gross delays, particularly the Fresno station, which tends to be the one that will hold a package without update for days. I'm impressed by Lori's follow through on behalf of the local Brentwood branch, however.

Brentwood Police Department is the gold standard for a police department. Every interaction I have…read morehad with them has been very positive. Even when getting a ticket. They are all very responsive, respectful and kind. Their community engagement is 2nd to none. One morning when I was driving my kids to school, my children wanted to wave to an officer at are stop light . The officer not only waved back, but he had a conversation with my kids about our cat and the officers cat. It was pretty funny hearing my 4-year old twins speaking to this officer at a red light about are cat and theirs. It made my kids day. Another interaction was with Cpl. Lou, who pulled me over for a minor infraction. He spoke to me kindly with respect. He asked for my documents, and while he was waiting for them he held a brief conversation with me about a topic I brought up. He ran my information and gave me a warning. Lastly, I was pulled over by Off. McBride for an expired registration. I didn't realize my req was expired (100% my fault) and he brought it to my attention. He was very kind, respectful, and informative. He wrote me a fix-it-ticket and explained in detail how to take care of it and resolve it. Again, it was 100% my fault I let my reg lapse, so I can't be mad about a ticket. Like I said, BPD is the gold standard of small town police departments. They are hiring excellent officers who are doing an excellent job of keeping Brentwood safe. I feel safe when walking around at night with my kids and that's a great feeling.

Who doesn't love libraries?!…read more This library is our favorite! It is kept clean, organized, and have a wide variety of children's books to choose from. Staff and volunteers are always helpful. As other libraries, this branch also offer self-checkouts and easy drop offs. They they also offer automatic extension for borrowed items and you can also put books on hold if you are waiting on a specific one. I also had a privilege of using one of the conference rooms with other mom friends to help our kids with their homework. Parking is ample and is located in downtown Brentwood, so you can also shop, eat, play and walk around after. If you also want to support the library, one way is to check out their second hand books on the second floor or donate books as well.

I went on a random weekday and within 5 min of the library opening and they had no more rooms! It also gets kind of loud and I had to sit outside for a quieter environment. During the summers, my friends and I would stand out front and sit on the war time artillery on display and smoke cigarettes and talk crap. You know, the good ol' days. My latest visit was for a Relay For Life Trivia Night. My husbands office sponsored a table of 10. Apparently they won 2 years ago and have been trying to reclaim their title. Apparently my husband told them I was pretty good at trivia. The hall itself is large and can fit quite a few tables a many a number of people. It includes a small stage area that was utilized for this event by the people giving the questions. In one corner there is a small kitchen area that the finger foods were prepared in and also they had a bar with bartender. You know we love that. By the end of the night we were the loudest table and had many complaints. I wasn't drinking though. I was taking my trivia questions very seriously. There were some maintenance issues that were very noticeable though. No soap in the bathrooms and the bathrooms smell awful. Kind of like there was a drain issue. The event hosts didn't empty the garbage cans enough too. Smelly! I have to say that it was an incredibly fun event. This was our first time and definitely not our last. I honestly cant wait until next years event.

I want to acknowledge one of the most professional and attentive police officer of all time. His…read morename is Connor Johnson. I was in a car accident and was so anxious at the time. I reached out to the dispatcher who was focused and caring. Officer Connor Johnson arrived on scene and I was nervous and frustrated because it became a hit and run. This young man spent time with me explaining what would happen and what to expect after the fact as they were trying to locate the driver who happened to be intoxicated. I was hesitant because he was an officer. He was such a professional and a gentleman the whole time. If all officer was as kind and respectful as this young man was. It would totally improve the relationship in the community. He got my information as I kept most of it in my phone e and at the moment couldn't recall the info to unlock my phone. His patience and assurance at a time I truly needed helped me to calm down and regain my focus to get into my phone. He sat with me as he processed the information and made sure I was calm enough to make it home. Oakley Police Department he is a keeper and I am saying give this young man the biggest raise because he represents r this department is best light and provides such wonderful service to assist me. I felt protected and assured the whole entire time. If I ever need an officer I will request Mr. Johnson. . He is awesome and if this is the image and brand of the OPD. I applaud this gentleman. I used to brag about our PD and how they manage things, but had to call…read moretonight for assistance with someone attempting to break into a neighbor's home after disrupting another area of the neighborhood late at night. PD only arrived after I followed the individual around for 15+ minutes in my car while on the phone with them. The neighbors ended up doing the policing. Ridiculous.
