As Sophia Petrillo from the Golden Girls would say "Picture this, Winter, 2019 late fall/winter, young woman and her mother were traveling in the middle east during the stages of where COVID-19 was brewing along with a country in protests, no internet, and complete CHAOS. Unknowingly, her mother and her became really sick, during their short visit, while in the country and it felt like the worst illness ever! Suffering with Breathing issues, turning blue like a smurf, GI issues, Fever, Chills, Fatigue, and the list goes on . You name it, I was experiencing it! Whatever it was, it was NASTY! What I didn't know then, is that something was simmering in that neck of the world, and was spreading fast! After self quarantining and treating with supplies I had brought with myself, we decided to leave. The country was having bloody protests, and a pandemic at the same time. A few weeks upon returning to the US , word came that Europe, CHINA, and IRAN were getting hit hard. Luckily, Once here, we went into quarantine before anyone knew the US might get hit. It took us a good 2 months to recover and then, news started coming to light about what it was and what symptoms were associated with it. We were in the early stages before anyone knew that this was COVID. Come Jan 2020, during initial stages, there was no available swab tests, nor were there anti-body tests . Fast forward 5 months, advances in technology, another wave of California cases hitting highs, I wanted to be tested. It does NOT check your IgM anti-body that would show if you were actively infected with COVID-19. For that, you would need to do a different test. Q: What exactly is this test? The SARS-Cov 2 serology antibody test being provided has a sensitivity of 100% and a specificity of 99.6% based on initial performance evaluations. I was greeted by staff who confirmed who I was, and handed me paperwork to give to the nurse under a spacious canopy/tent supplied with clean draw stations, social distancing between draws, and sanitized areas. Using a red tiger top vial, and guidance from me on which arm and vein to draw Cecilia was able to be the best vampire and get the sample like a champ. I have difficult veins. Shout out to Cecilia who was a rock-star at doing my hard draw venipuncture in the heat on the first try. I would also like to thank Gina for her attentiveness and patience in answering all my questions. The entire time from check in to blood draw was under 10 min. Q:They took my blood now whats next? 2-3 days the results will be emailed. If its positive for antibodies, my next plan is to reach out to American Heart Association or other Resources to see what I can do to donate plasma to help those in need recover faster. The first step is to address the issue privately with an individual involved, so I brought my concern regarding teaching yoga to a leader of the Women's Ministry. Then I addressed the head of this ministry (now having two witnesses regarding this matter of concern). She informed me that the elders were consulted regarding the teaching of yoga during the Women's Retreat and that all elders have vetted this practice. Next I emailed the Senior Pastor twice who responded "While I certainly agree with your general theological position I don't share your particular concern regarding Yoga class... we have vast freedoms in Christ." Since there is no indication on your website that teaching yoga has been approved by the Senior Pastor and elders, based on Deuteronomy 12:30-31 I felt compelled to alert those who want to honor these verses and not attend a church that integrates or mixes with other "religious" practices. I wrote the review to bring awareness for those who have discernment and try to honor all of God's Holy Word. A pastor's primary biblical duty is to serve as an "overseer" or "shepherd" who guards the church against outside spiritual influences and no where is this information available on your website. I was also informed that I was not the only one who had brought this concern to the church elders. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Caution, for those who understand the warnings of God's Word regarding NOT incorporating other religious practices into a Christ-based church please be aware that this church has vetted the practice of yoga into their women's retreats. After bringing up my concerns, I was informed that the elders and pastors have approved of teaching yoga yet they will change the name from "yoga class" to "stretch class" because others have brought up the same concern. Changing the title does not change the truth of the eastern religious origin of yoga (so-called modern yoga still has its origin in eastern mysticism and Hindu "deities"). Isn't it wise to not risk incorporating controversial teachings into a supposedly Bible-based church? God's Word warns against even the appearance of associating with practices that honor other spiritual beliefs. Romans 12:1-2, "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living, sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God - this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will."

The worship leader Pastor Frankie led us all in amazing worship and my heart and those of others around me were proclaiming love, commitment and thankfulness in our voices. It was beautiful. The prayerful warriors who led us in all in prayer filled our hearts with uplifting words and praise to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Pastor Aaron started the sermon opening his and all hearts who welcomed the receipt of the love he shared in words inspired by our living God. Today's sermon was centered on friendship and the very scripturally supported aspects of recognizing, building, nurturing, encouraging and teaching as Not to Screw Up Friendship. The sermon touched on many Proverbs that reinforce our roles in identifying true friends and those who are not equally yoked or may be evil which can and will corrupt good habits. Being able to surround ourselves with like minded Godly individuals who seek to share the gospel in the fruits that can only come from God is so important in life as it is evident in society that we face forces of evil that can pull us into taking the wrong path or road. Pastor Aaron has a beautiful heart for Christ and as a first time visitor I saw and felt the kindness of the many folks I met during my visit. The Children's ministry had a bake sale which was also a blessing to see even though as one who is trying to avoid such tempting sweets I had to stop by an pay tribute to their mission. Reading in Proverbs daily will certainly be a goal of mine as I have not been to service in a while and there is really no excuse for not making time for God. We have been traveling and working on the home and it can easily consume one's schedule putting priorities out of sync and certainly not in alignment with the most important factors relative to our purpose in life. The church body is small and intimate which is a blessing when re-entering a practice that should never be placed on a shelf.
