Fantastic stay! I was in town for a family event and spent a week here. The rooms were spacious,…read morespotless, and very comfortable. The front desk staff went above and beyond, offering great local dinner recommendations. The beach views from my room were absolutely spectacular. The area around the hotel was super convenient there's a Publix nearby along with plenty of shops, cafes, and other amenities just a short drive away. Tiki bar next door was awesome! Everything you might need is close at hand. I'd definitely stay here again!

We had a gulf view 2 bedroom on the the 7th floor. The room comes with many amenities including practically anything you'd need in the kitchen except for a pizza pan! One watch out- the beach is a very far walk from the resort. Definitely not a great choice for those who cannot walk that far or need a bathroom near. Another big watch out - rooms on the north side of the building from about the 6th floor down have large palm trees obscure the view of the gulf!!! They rental chairs and umbrellas are convenient but are taken up very early around 2:30 pm - disappointing given the cost Our kitchen was flooded the 1st night by the upstairs apartment's ice maker waterline. It's just an unfortunate event but did waste a good part of our first day towel drying the floor and carpet. The front desk offered to dry vac it but we opted against it since we'd already got most of it blotted up. The front desk does a towel exchange for the pool towels which eliminates the nuisance of drying towels from the pool. We really enjoyed the grills and lovely landscaping. I would gladly stay again for the quality of everything.

Mike…read moretook all of our bags and showed us up to a smooth check-in process that included complimentary drinks. He got us and our friends off to our rooms quickly and as we saw him around the grounds the rest of the week was always cheerful and a joy to chat with. We got a Cabana for two days, and Melissa was our assigned waitress on day one. Simply stellar. She kept checking up on us, provided great advice on what to do, and our group of 14 couldn't have had a better time. Scott helped us out on day two when our assigned waiter for the cabana (who I won't name) was a little too much on the younger side to be able to be as attentive and simply had a hard time making the connection that Melissa and Scott did. Melissa and Scott had water shoes, and were not afraid of coming right up to us when we were on the edge of the pool, as it was no deal to get their shoes wet. We WILL be back; we WILL ask for Melissa and Scott. Otherwise, in the resort, it was extremely clean and the atmosphere was spot-on. The coffee shop next to the pedestrian bridge to the pool from the main hotel helped with the bender hangovers, and the staff there were very nice. The lobby on the second floor was nice, as the parking and utilities for the hotel are on the hurricane-flood-prone ground floor. There was night entertainment out on the promenade, and I was grateful that we had a room on the outside of the hotel not overlooking the promenade, but I noticed by 1030pm, the loud music was gone. Good balance between partying and letting us drunks sleep. Great party hotel. Great DJ earlier in the day. The couple who sang and played music in the DJ Cabana also were great. The later-in-the-day DJ was less impressive; he hesitated to play some of the songs we requested. The location was central to many dining and entertainment options. The shop in the lobby had some essentials we forgot as well. If there is any critique; continue to focus on making sure the younger wait staff have no problems with old-fashioned effective communication and making time to check back in plenty of times throughout the day, especially if the cost of the drinks is as high as it is. I have no problem paying for it if the wait staff are as attentive as Melissa and Scott.

Our family was excited to experience the new Margaritaville in Fort Myers Beach. We are Floridians,…read morefrom the other coast, and we have always enjoyed FMB, which is only a few hours away. Upon arriving, we were told that a luggage cart was only available through a bellhop service. They only offer valet, as a side note. When we checked in, we did receive a complimentary margarita, but no smiles or warmth. This carried on throughout the weekend; none of the staff seemed pleased to be there, and only one of them even smiled back or said hello. The room was clean and new, and the theming is on point. It is a beautiful place and as a PH, I truly enjoyed the music and the decor. Everything is so Margaritaville -- colors, music, theme. All 10/10. When it came to restaurant staff, we had the opposite experience and everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our time at the downstairs bar and at the JWB, which is more of an upscale dining experience with a beautiful view of the beach. The pool does not open until 9am, but we brought our own tent and chairs because we were researched and knew that the public beach is right next to the resort. This was the best move we could have made! Highly recommend if you're driving and can bring your own beach supplies. I do believe that you can have a complimentary umbrella and 2 chairs as an overnight guest, but we were pleased to be able to have our own space. The other thing worth mentioning is that you cannot bring food or drink into the pool area -- not even from their own restaurant/bar. I purchased lunch from the downstairs restaurant and as I was waiting to bring it to the beach, I was told that I could not bring my drink into the pool area right next door. It's all one resort, and organization, but I assume they are worried about people bringing their own cocktails in the cups they provide. There should be an option to show your receipt or at least people should be aware of that before they spend $15 plus on a drink at a POOL/ BEACH BAR. I would say that we had a great experience because we were with family and the beach is stunning regardless of where you stay. The weather in July is touch and go, so we were blessed with mostly clear days. Would I recommend a stay here? No. I think that there are many other places with the same view and a similar experience, and we felt like we were charged for every little thing, plus the unfriendly staff. Even as we were checking out and making several trips to our vehicle, housekeeping kept trying to enter our room (before check out) no matter how many times I explained we were still working on moving out.

It was great to see dishwasher pods, dishwashing liquid, and laundry detergent sitting out for us to use. The kitchen is fully stocked with any dishes or cookware you could possibly need. There are also pool towels above the washing machine and extra blankets in the linen closet. The pool is well-maintained and there is plenty of seating on the deck. There are a couple gas grills on either side of the resort that are open for guests to use. The location is great as well! It's far enough from the downtown-ish area to have a bit of privacy, but not too far that you feel out of the loop. You can borrow a couple bicycles for free from the front desk in order to go explore shops and restaurants. What I especially love is the access to the beach. If you walk out of the resort toward the crosswalk and cross the street, there is a small path that takes you out toward the ocean. The clientele is very diverse in age, but overall Tropical Sands is a very family friendly resort. On the side of the building there are pool and beach toys that are free for guests to borrow. If you are on the bottom floor of the resort, the door handle of the screened-in porch is high enough that little kids probably won't be able to reach it and escape. (But you should still keep an eye on those kiddos!) It is important to note that there is no lifeguard on duty. The pool is six feet deep at the deepest point and three feet deep at the most shallow end. If you have kids, it's best not to leave them unattended. There is also a hot tub and a couple outdoor showers. Overall, I highly recommend this resort!

Nothing fancy, but solid location!…read more My husband, mom, and dad stayed at the Outrigger Beach Resort for 3 nights while on Estero Island for the first time. We chose to stay in an efficiency unit, so we weren't expecting much. Our unit was fairly small with 2 beds, a full (but small) kitchen, and a decent-sized bathroom. It was all we needed, as we knew we weren't going to spend much time in the unit. The Outrigger is located right on the beach, so you walk out your door and you're on one of the biggest stretches of powdery sandy beach that I have ever seen. There's a restaurant and bar on-site with live music at night and they have a volleyball net, beach chairs to rent, and other water toys to rent or borrow. Additionally, this spot is less than a mile walking distance from a stretch of restaurants and shops, plus sidewalks to walk for days! You could walk all the way to the Fort Myer's Pier if you wanted to (which we did - about a ~4 mile walk). Like I said, the room wasn't much, but the location is great!

We also truly enjoyed coming out of the water and having our lunch under a tiki hut which sheltered us from the glorious sun! We enjoyed our time so much that we extended our vacation an extra night and the staff was very accommodating and made it happen! As a matter of fact, we have already booked a few more nights the second week of September because we can't wait until next year to enjoy a few more days in paradise! Pro tip: they have free parking on site. They are also only a few miles from a small downtown which is lots of fun. There are some parking spots under the second story but they are only for compact cars.

They were so respectful of the guests and kept our tables immaculately cleared. Access to the island by boat was a surprise and thoroughly enjoyable. In addition, our room was incredible with three balconies and two amazing views. The gym was also nice; all the machines were clean and working, plus it was well equipped. For such a fancy hotel, I was quite surprised there was nowhere to find water. I expected a fruity water station somewhere near the entry, a standard in high-end hotels today. I was also surprised the concierge could not provide a running map. Even with the local construction, the path right out the front door is nice and separated from traffic. I found the run to Target (for a cool coffee drink) was perfect for a 5-miler. Surely the 10-mile option would include even more treats. Having the front doors opened every time anyone approached the front of the hotel was a nice touch.

NO DISHWASHER, so rewash everything before you use it. everything was greasy, guests are expected to wash all dishes, glasses, silverware, etc. and put it away before they depart. even though we brought our own chairs and umbrella for the beach, there are lots of umbrellas, chairs, beach toys to use & enjoy at your leisure. best part of this location is the HUGE beach. it is a walk to get to the shoreline, but so quiet, relaxing and void of people. like we had the whole beach to ourselves. the check in crew are SUPER friendly, always willing to help. also like the location, easy to get to bonita springs & naples to explore some other dining options besides the ones nearby. yes, the place is dated, but we were there for the sun & beach. rooms are meant to sleep, shower and store your stuff in. if you get pissy about decor, then stay home and enjoy your own house, it's a vacation, just go, enjoy yourself and don't get hung up on the minutia. i would stay here again, just because of the location!
