Hotel Marinaterra has gorgeous views of the marina and beautiful pools. The staff here are friendly and are fluent in English. The gift shop gives pretty good exchange rate for you to pay your purchase in US dollars, and you don't have to worry about exchanging pesos. Rooms are clean, spacious and relaxing. They only provide soap, 2 in 1 shampoo, and body lotion, so best to bring your own toiletries. If you didn't, you can get the basic items at the onsite gift shop, or go the convenient store which is a short walk away. You can check out beach towels at the front desk, so no worries about packing in beach towels for your visit here. The AC works very well and is much appreciated in 100+ weather. The interesting thing is that the elevator is a tad small, and I'm curious to see how it'd fit 10 people at 700kg capacity when it was a slight tight fit for 6 average adults. Continental breakfast buffet includes fresh fruit, variety of juices, yogurt, Mexican pastries, Mexican cuisine, and made to order omelet/quesadilla bar. Hotel also offers complimentary WIFI to guests, but it works better in certain area than others. Wifi slows down when many people log on at the same time. If you have T-Mobile, global coverage rocks! The speed is actually quite good, and I got LTE signal in certain area too, woohoo! Both locals and foreign visitors (especially Americans!) frequent here on holidays/vacations. With the marina just a short walk away and massage next door, staying at this hotel is a pleasant experience, worth coming back.

My daughter's sawed-off fingers. Look at that poor pinky.

My 14yr old daughter spent New Years week with family at this hotel. She went to the Chocolate Spa and Salon to have her nails done on Dec 28th, in preparation for a New Years party. The spat destroyed her fingers. The lady who worked on her nails filed them down to the point where my daughter was in extreme pain. See the pics for yourself. This Spa claims to have 5 stars and even locations abroad (I.e. Paris). I can't see how such a claim is possible. My daughter paid full price out of the goodness of her heart. But it ruined part of her trip. The lady who worked on her nails needs a good talking to. Just look at the hooves that they left my baby daughter with!

This was an amazing hotel, best of all, it's 95usd a night and you get a 5 star room. Every room has view of the ocean combined with a view of the desert mountains. The staff here is very friendly and they have a pool that comes fly equipped with a hot tub and bar. The marina is right behind the hotel so if your diving the boat is a short walk away. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. I left the balcony sliding door open and had a nice ocean breeze coming in at night.

The starter of tomato soup was DELICIOUS

My first impression was the uniqueness of the building design. Very cool architecture…read more My next impression was that the hotel was small, but not quite small enough to qualify as a boutique hotel. The parking lot probably only has 20 spaces and the lobby was very inviting. Check in was fairly smooth, but not very friendly. The king room was fairly spacious, equipped with a fridge, microwave, ironing board, a safe and a great view of the water. (All rooms face the water but there are only 4 floors so aim high if available). The pool area has two jacuzzis but only one was actually hot during my stay. I didn't make it into either. No direct access to the beach as there is no beach directly below the property but there is sand on the lower level below the pool area. Poolside service was pretty good, the beer was nice and cold and the coconut shrimp were delicious.

While checking in we learned the hot tub was closed for maintenance but the pool was open and heated. We checked the pool when we went to dinner and it was cold. We woke up on Saturday morning to the sound of grinding and sanding from the pool area. The have a work crew grinding , cutting and sanding the pool deck with dust filling the pool and entire deck. The only reason we returned was to enjoy the heated pool and hot tub. My question or complaint is why is this work scheduled for a weekend? This is not a repair or down a few hours for cleaning, this is a big project. And should have need planned for the middle of the week when less people are staying.

Let me tell you how disappointing this place is. We paid almost 4,000 pesos for a semi balcony…read moreview, I would be okay with that but omg this place needs upgrade like pronto! Bathroom is so old that your shower head is not even giving you good water. The furnitures are out dated. I pray that these sheets are actually clean. The light fixtures are even old enough that I don't if they're broken or it's the style. Never coming back here and doesn't recommend this hotel. I'm sorry

Dont stay here period!…read more Hey Worse enemy look for a model 6 or something else this is NOT a good place even for you ! * I paid $200 usd for one night it was supposed be a nice ocean view room but we brought our service dog so we had to downgrade our room and pay extra $300. I travel a lot so my expectations are reasonable and consistent. Playa Blanca deserves 3 1/2 stars…read morebut it's not quite deserving of four stars and certainly NOT 5 stars! The staff is accommodating and helpful and I guarantee you will need them for "issues." During my check in I experienced a few nuisances. The shower pressure was just okay, the water not very hot and wreaked of a smell like sulphur, and the shower pan pooled up away from the drain and latex stagnant. The televisions are tricky at first but eventually it was figured out and that's only because I'm "techy." Most living rooms don't have curtains, which isn't the end of the world, but it does limit some privacy a little. The bedrooms are away from the Oceanside where I would prefer to open a window and listen to the ocean. The beach and sunsets are stunning and worthy of wishing you could stop time. During off peak season the restaurant opens only on Sunday so you will need a car. The gym has a view but the equipment needs some repair & attention. The condos are well appointed but not perfect. The kitchen only has two electrical outlets and both are on either side of the stove. There are no outlets on the countertop where you really need them and where you would do your food prep! The beds aren't as comfortable as I like and there should be additional linens and pillows available. The pool has four jacuzzis and only one works! The one that does work had like warm water at best so it was useless. If I were to sum up my personal opinion of Playa Blanca Condominiums I would compare it like this; Playa Blanca San Carlos is to Cabo San Lucas what Laughlin Nevada is to Las Vegas Nevada (if you are familiar with Laughlin and Las Vegas you will know what I mean).
