I love stopping here for a quick break on motorcycle rides before I cross the Bay Bridge. It's right off the highway and has lovely views of the bay. There's no entrance fee and it has plenty of parking spots close to the water. There's also a walking path that loops around the marina which is great for puppers. The area is clean and usually drama free. There's a few grassy areas that are great for picnics and a few spots seem to be very popular for fishing from the shore.

Emeryville Marina is my "go-to" place for a nice stroll or bike ride. We finally had a break from the rain today so I was able to hit Marina Park for a walk. They have a nice paved trail along the water that takes you all the way around the park. Parking is available in the lots within the park, admission and parking are free. On warm days you can find a nice spot in the grass to picnic or watch the sunset. There is also bench seating available throughout the park in case you'd like to grab a seat. The views of San Francisco, the Bay Bridge and Golden Gate Bridge are unmatched! This is also one of the best places to watch fireworks on the 4th of July. If you're hungry, there are a few restaurants within walking distance of the park as well, Hong Kong Lounge is the closest, followed by Trader Vics and then Chevys which is a little closer to the freeway. Overall, great place with great views. Highly recommend!

** The following review reflects my experience DURING the COVID-19 pandemic. ** To me, Emeryville is about the three P's - Pixar, Peet's, and the Public Market. Oh yeah... and IKEA, too. So I didn't think much about the strip of land on the other side of 80. I knew the old-school Chinese restaurant was over there as well as Trader Vic's for a mai tai bender, but that was about it. So in my constant search for places nearby to get my steps in, Jamie W. and I decided to drive over and follow the narrow walkway around the perimeter of the skinny peninsula that curved north into a park setting. It's an easy walk, fully paved, and quite pleasant with the constant bay views. There's a breakwater extension that's primarily used as a fishing pier. Yay! More steps. There are public restrooms available along the way, not to be mistaken for the private yacht club restrooms. I guess I know my place and will keep my distance... for health reasons, of course. The Emeryville Marina is kind of my sanctuary during Shelter in Place. It's small but quite scenic and peaceful. The view is excellent. You can see the Bay Bridge, Golden Gate Bridge, Oakland, and SF across the Bay. I've come here countless times for a walk and run. It is important to go outside and get close to nature to clear my mind. Although it rarely gets hot in the area, the temperature can go up to 90 degrees for a couple of days in the summer. The marina is a great place to cool down. There are picnic tables and benches to sit and a couple of restaurants nearby. Plenty parking. Overall, a terrific neighborhood park!

This is a small Park at the Emeryville Marina!! This small park is Kite central, as I almost always see someone flying their kites because of all the winds. Also a good place to BBQ, there are a few grills in the area. The views here are awesome, SF, Treasure Island, the Bay Bridge, and just the Bay itself are all in play. Another great Bay Area park!!!

A wonderful park to hang out and enjoy a warm sunny day. Great views of the bay and watching planes land at OAK make this a beautiful destination in the Bay Area! Lots of green grass to do tons of activities and they also have tons of picnic areas as well. The paved paths are great for bike riding.

I just looked up places to watch the sun set and this was the first on the list. So nice. Got a nice picture to remember this area by. There are people walking around so it's nice to just chill here and enjoy the serenity.

Some of the most beautiful views of the bay area in the east bay. My ex lives right around the corner from here, but I risk the awkward run-in just to take it all in. If you stand at the corner of the Marina, close to where Hong Kong East Ocean is, You will have the most incredible 270 degree view of the bay. A fantastic place for a jog, dim-sum, dog-walk, or a combination of the three. Or you can come here to share a Mai Tai with Alex C. at Trader Vic's, I'm sure he is more than willing.

Nice walking path, great vistas, lots of picnic potential. We didn't get to do too much exploring and have only been once. Yet, we liked what we saw and have agreed that we will be back with the whole family.

I like to come to this Marina over Berkeley Marina because it seems to be well maintained. Berkeley Marina seems to have a bug problem. We went there the other day and our blanket was infested with what seemed to be flying beetles. The Emeryville Marina is much calmer. It's a great place to take walks, picnic, or sleep . You get a great view of the Bay Bridge and if the skies are clear you can even see the Golden Gate. There are a lot of benches and places to sit. I come here pretty often with my girl to sit and enjoy the scenery. This place is very windy, however, so if you want to find a place for an outdoor party, look elsewhere. The view spans from the Oakland Port to the Albany Hills. Plenty of parking and just a great place to think.

Marina park is a great little place to getaway. After a crazy day when I just want to walk and chill I will usually hit this place up. It's a great location that has some amazing views. Normally I'd you're in the way bay you get stuck in the crazy traffic going to coming from SF . this place is a great chill spot right of the highway. They have a great trail to walk or jog . lots of benches to just relax . don't let me forget the view of SF amazing when it's clear. Even when it's not clear if shows the true SF. The parking is plentiful. It's also close to a few restaurants if you need a bite too eat. Make sure you by at least once if you're in the area!

I want to say that this place sucks because it's so AWESOME and I do not want to share lol. So let's just keep this place a secret. Better then the Richmond, Berkeley and San Leandro marina. It's a great place to get your mind straight, get some fresh air, take a walk and take advantage of the best views in the bay. Sometimes I tend to forget that I was born and raised in the best places ever, The Bay Area. With views like this, you cant help but be proud ;)

An awesome spot for a picnic/cuddle time/views of the Bay. Headed out with friends this past weekend and it was fab. Used one of the several public BBQ pits and grilled ourselves silly. Set down blankets and had a cuddle-fest while we drank away the day and discussed inappropriate topics. Watched the sunset with great views of everything depending which way you were facing. Not many people around despite it being a holiday weekend. Bring blankets and jackets, or do what we did and cuddle to keep warm - it was pretty windy but tolerable. sunset pics at the marina: http://www.flickr.com/photos/evolutionofchase/sets/72157622026504806/ peace, love, and good booze ~ chase

The perimeter is set nicely. It's not all fence, but the demarcation using walking paths and greenery is successful. Entry off the corner is clear. You know who's coming in and out of the playground which is #1 for safety. Seating areas all around which is another good mark for safety. You want to be able to watch over your kids as they're playing. Architecturally, the place looks pristine from every angle. Well laid out. Shows intention. Someone was doing their homework. Wasn't just slapped together like some places. They definitely had a landscape designer on board when they built this place. Nice touch Emeryville! Although the play structure isn't huge, it's one of the best for kids 5 and older. It has a very good variety. Long tall tunnel slide which kids absolutely love. The view from the top I'm sure is amazing and one of the choices for getting up there is by way of the rock climbing wall. Younger kids may have a hard time finding a place to play though. The area designed for younger kids is more of a art piece than an actual play area. You'll know what I mean when you get there. Ko

There are paths to ride bikes, scooters, roller blades and skateboards. During warmer weather this park is packed. When we visited, following a prior event, there were already lots of kids on a gray, windy, overcast day. This park is spacious on the interior but parking on the exterior is limited. The parking lot is minimal for the amount of space to explore, which is awesome but makes it difficult to navigate up close parking. This park is fantastic. The first time we visited was back in 2018 and honestly we can't remember…read morewhere we parked or which trails we hiked. But I know we enjoyed ourselves. Fast forward to yesterday. We had a restaurant in Albany that we wanted to check out so of course we had to hike first to get our appetites whet. I found a loop I wanted us to try on AllTrails. It's called the Dunn Trail--Monteiro Trail Loop. We parked at the Richard C. Trudeau Conference Center on Skyline Blvd. It was the perfect spot to start. Free parking. Public restrooms (even flush toilets!). If you have a dog, most of this trail is off-leash which I have never seen before. Every dog we saw were well behaved and having a great time. We don't have dogs of our own but I am a big dog person. This particular loop was exactly what I was looking for. It had several different biomes. Despite what AllTrails said, it is not all shaded but it was a beautiful, sunny, windy day. We saw lots of wildflowers blooming. We found there to be a difference between AllTrails and our measurements. AllTrails said it was roughly 500+ ft elevation gain but ours said 1000. That's a huge difference! But I would believe ours over theirs. There were a lot of inclines. Also, their's said it was 3.5 miles but ours said a mile longer. The trails were all very well maintained. We saw gorgeous views, small waterfalls/creeks, redwoods, butterflies--just lovely. It was less busy than I anticipated but we arrived before 9 a.m. We finished by 11. This is a big park and lots to explore. Highly recommend!

What the what?? 0_o So, that's on me, kids. My bad. Onto the review... A giant ±1,833-acre redwood forest nestled in the Oakland Hills, this park was a former logging site back in the 1800s. Fortunately, there has been a nice resurgence of redwoods to replace those that were cut down. It ain't old-growth, but we'll take what we can these days. The Good: * Free at certain times of year and at certain entrances (more below) * Mountain biking on certain trails (check map and trail signage) * Horseback riding on certain trails (check map and trail signage) * Camping available (check website for info and reservations) * Reservable and non-reservable picnic tables (check map & website) * Restrooms available in parking lots, as well as at some campsites * Nearly forty miles of trails with something for everyone * If you're looking for a moderate ±4.5-mile loop, go to the Skyline entrance and take the Serpentine Prairie Trail to Dunn Trail to Golden Spike Trail, then back to Dunn Trail The Meh: * $5/vehicle entrance fee on weekends and major holidays between April and October, only at the Redwood Gate entrance * Most of the trails are pretty decent, but some are in rough shape due to water damage The Ugly: * One of the few parks I've seen with "off-leash" sections for dogs--which is fine, except you know there's a good majority of dog owners who think they can control their dogs but really can't. We saw a panicked guy chasing his dog down a trail at one point, and who knows when--if ever--he caught up to it. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ Conclusion: Great park with tons of trails and lots to see and do.
