Elephant Butte Lake RV Resort

Elephant Butte Lake RV Resort

This park is not bad has good hook ups, and water situation. What got me is when we went to the hot…read moretub our 2nd night, and the typical kid takeover was there. The parents were outside, while 5 kids under 6 in life jackets were all in the hot tub/jacuzzi. They were screaming , hooting and hollering, we walked in, and walked our butts out! Why is this such a common theme now everywhere we go? The pool/jacuzzi becomes the babysitter for parents where kids become wild! Yeah NOT OK or normal. The adult paying adults perhaps might want to enjoy the jacuzzi without all kinds of kid urine, and kids screaming!!!! We went back mid week to find the jacuzzi and pool to be awesome, and quiet. The park is pretty chill, and very close to the entry to the Dead Lake Butte. The laundry room is fabulous, and clean with plenty of machines. Overall clean. I don't think where we were put was the greatest spot has a pretty crappy view of nothing. There are other spots in the park where you could at least catch a sunset. I don't know who makes these decisions. Also, I don't know why the phone call prior to our arrival to confirm our arrival. The interrogation and asking all these specifics. Look business around here is dying. What is with the 100 questions? We will never be back. There is just not enough for us to do. We are hikers, and we like to explore. We don't however like to have to travel 50 miles to see something. The hot springs are not enough of an attractant as we know of hot springs superior to this. We also don't like to go to a town where businesses are all closed? It's Labor Day week!!! What? Do you want to be a business or not? Do you want to survive as a town or not? I don't understand the mentality of the businesses. Thank you and Ciao.' ***Buyer Beware*** No matter what deal they offer you...if you stay over 7 days you will be charged for Electricity. Yes....I did not analyze the fine print on the road. I made reservations by phone the old school way. There was no mention of electricity charges. I was advised it's in my email, and when I checked in it's on the check in sheet. Well that's smooth. After 6 hours on the road who is really going to be reading the fine fine print? The email? Ehhhh I'm busy. Made my reservation and I trusted. I'm from a State that literally skins us with cost of electricity. However, when staying in the desert there, they don't charge for electricity until it's been a month stay. This was a lesson. Funny...paying more for power here for 9 days, than we are for our residence for a month. Be aware everyone! Like I said...never back.

After booking a premium spot with trees MONTHS in advance and paying in full We were hopeful…read more Days before our arrival an email sent telling us we've been moved for other guests accommodations and their convenience. We show up anyways and of course nothing but rocks and six foot trees sparsely around us. Even what they show as a Garden on their map that is green, because it's a garden right?, is piles of rocks in circles, I guess if art can be a garden then I guess? The advertisement of a dog run area? Turns out it is the rain water washout area full of gravel and boulders with a sign saying Dog Area. Pick Up After Your pers'. What a joke. But about our spot We paid for, it's what we paid for weeks in advance. It's a desert. Yet six premium pull through spots with 15' - 20' conical trees lining the slips sit empty. Nope We can't use them I guess. Would not move us. So after that we stay for only one full day. Telling them this the day we arrived because of these accommodations. Yet only the snappy words of 'Its our policy to not give refunds because you're not happy.' We leave for greener pastures with this management team keeping $400+ dollars of our unused time. What a joke. This place is full of Full time live ins. It's an rv style trailer park. Not an rv resort. Our 42' Motor Coach stuck out like pudding in a cloud. Skip this rv resort, it is not. And the lake is at 5% capacity. There's no boating to be done. You can do all of TorC in a single day. Really. Just make a day trip of little TorC and drive away. So avoid this resort. We look forward to managing partners response to this review
