I brought my mini Schnauzer to Marie for a first time visit. After speaking with her on the phone for a lengthy discussion I felt very comfortable about taking him to her. Although my dog was way over due for a groom and he had lots a mats. I was more than displeased with his cut when I picked him up. She started to tell me he had ring worms from all the red spots on his belly. I felt that wasn't true at all. I inspected my dog further after getting him home, he had burns and scrapes on his face and the area she said was ring worm was an actual cut from scissors. His whole body was very warm to touch. I believe they they were razor burns. He also had cuts inside his ears. His nails were not trimmed And his face was not cut evenly on both sides. I was very upset about the service we got I will never go back to her she is farthest from being a professional groomer as far as I'm concerned!! read more

May first , 2023 at 11am I had an appointment with Marie Paw Spa. I told Marie we had to drive an hour to get there, we were a few minutes early and I talked to her on the phone that morning. We get there and you can't even go into the shop, she sends a worker out and I said I want to meet the person or persons who would be working on my dog, a no go for them so I had to leave my sweet dog who has always been good with other people and groomers love my dog. As I was leaving another dog owner showed up and as they were taking their dog the worker came out to flag us down and said we won't have time for your dog today, you will need to reschedule. She had told me when they took my dog they close at 5pm. When Toby was groomed before it took about an hour. After driving an hour there is no way I will reschedule. Very poor customer service and I will never go to her dump of a shop that has No parking available, you have to park on the side of the road, very bad service. read more

We took our 14 year old Pom in for a grooming today and we are very happy! She understood our concerns because of his medical condition and was very patient with him, even when he pooped in the tub and she had to re-wash him. He came out beautifully groomed and just smelling clean and not stinking of all kinds of perfumes. She uses all natural products and really cares. Her own dogs are beautifully groomed! Took my two miniature poodles here for a grooming. After explaining exactly how I wanted them groomed (including pictures), I was extremely disappointed when I picked them up. It's obvious that she decided to clip them the way she wanted, and not at all how I requested. She obviously doesn't know how to clip a poodle properly. Not only did she clip them extremely short, which I expressly asked her NOT to do, she left their ears very long, and their top knot is huge!!!!! She clipped their necks halfway up the back of their heads and did not even try to blend their top knot into their necks. WORST HAIR CUT EVER!!!!! They look absolutely ridiculous, with huge heads and almost shaved bodies. Had I wanted them to look like this, I could have done a better job myself. Don't waste your money!! It will take months for my boys to grow out and be presentable. read more

Most pet groomers love animals. People, eh, so-so. This makes them terrible at professional relations, and Marie is no exception. The policies of her business are unclear, she rarely takes time to discuss the grooming details, she never returns phone calls, nor does she call to confirm appointments, and she never says "thank you" even for generous tips. However, given this behavior is true of most small shops, if you can overlook being treated as so much dust in the way, your dog will be fine. She is very organized with the animals and keeps them safely separated. The shampoos and other treatment options (nail polish!) are top quality. She handles small dogs carefully. She has a few people working for her who seem to care about dogs and they all function well as a team. I've spoken with local groomers and a few veterinarians about the Paw Spa and they all speak highly of Marie's talents with animals. My dog always comes home relaxed and nice and clean. They do a good job, and also sell a few cute doggie items in the tiny shop. read more

My dog means the world to me. A lot of things have changed in my life and the one constant has been the love from my little guy. He is the type of dog that gets mean when you cut his hair or clip his nails. When he sees anyone get scissors or nail clippers he goes and hides. The first time Marie groomed him he drew blood on her hand. Not only does she still groom him he gets excited and can't wait to see all the ladies when I pull in to the driveway. Terrible groomer. Showed her photo on how we wanted her to follow for our 2 Shi Tzu and one Peekapoo pom...asked her to correct the face on all 3 from the previous grooming. She instead, scalped them! One was gouged and chopped, the others had legs and body shaved when she was asked to leave the hair long, she failed to do anything we asked....then when we complained about the bad grooming, she said she was having a bad day. The following day she phoned us and wanted to know why we were being so mean because I sent her my complaints about the grooming. We told her we were not mean, but we're extremely unhappy with her terrible grooming job. We also told her we were not returning and took photos of the dogs. She replied that were not a good fit anyways (because of our complaints). She then started calling our neighbors asking them to talk to us and not ruin her business. It was her decision to do what she did to our dogs, not ours, she totally ignored our requests on grooming and did what she wanted to them. There was also no correlation with the grooming done previously, as if it never happened. Apparently does not take notes on individual grooming from one session to the next. Talks a lot about how good she is, but the results say otherwise. read more

I recently had my very big, very furry, very old dog in to be groomed at Marie's after having a great nail cut there. During the nail trim, the girls that work for Marie did a fantastic job of making my dog comfortable and Marie told me it would be $45 to come in for a full groom (including deshedding, she was right there seeing how furry my big boy was). So I called and scheduled an appointment. Full groom, I asked for nails clipped and belly shaved. She said it was all included in price. After 5 hours! 5 hours at the groomer I went to pick up my boy and he was so frazzled and over it. She rings me up and charges me $75. I get that it can be more once they really get started and that he need extra deshedding, but from $45 to $75 is a HUGE price jump. It is a cash only place, so I had to leave to get extra cash and get my dog home. Once home I had a better chance to look at him and his haircut. Yes he was deshedded very well! Lots of time to get that done, but he had zero haircut. His toe hair was trimmed, but nothing else. NOTHING! His hair isn't cut at all! For $75 my dog got a bath and a really good brushing. I got some recommendations for Marie's services from other satisfied local people, and her fees were very reasonable and acceptable. Our doggie hadn't had a bath or a nail trim in over a year, but he came back smelling civilized and all trimmed up, de-matted, untangled, and very happy. He's so soft and smells so good now, we've decided to make this very much part of our schedule!
