Marienklause is the name of a small chapel built in 1866 by Martin Achleitner in the Munich district of Untergiesing-Harlaching. If you are walking along the Isar a short detour will get you here.
There is a small grotto under the wooden chapel and there are some stones displaying the 14 stations of the cross. Stations of the Cross or the Way of the Cross, also known as Way of Sorrows or Via Crucis, refers to a series of images depicting Jesus Christ on the day of his crucifixion and accompanying prayers.
There is a light switch to the right of the chapel door so you can see the altar. It's normally pretty dark as its cave like.
Worth a detour if you happen to be in the area. read more
