My mother has dementia and Christina has been wonderful about accommodating the limitations of my mom's lack of short-term memory. And she is a master at getting mom comfortable on the bed (creative use of pillows and the bed head can raise up) since my mom has some low and mid-back discomfort when lying on her back. Christina has helped calm my mother's central nervous system, which had had a positive effect on her overall wellbeing, but best of all is that her anxiety-induced tremors are greatly reduced, maybe gone! Christina not only administers the acupuncture, but is very holistic in her approach. She recommends custom-blended herbs if appropriate (if the patient is open to trying them, can always say no thanks) and really listens and offers insights and suggestions on ways to optimize one's overall wellbeing. She will review any supplements you take and offer suggestions on ones she thinks might help. She is always upbeat, sweet and is clearly passionate about her work which makes her a joy to be around. Had surgeries in my early 20s to repair some damage, but still had chronic pain. At this point when I'd get up from my desk at work, it would take a good 5 minutes for my knee to un-stiffen so I could walk normally. I had 2 toddlers and although I took them for daily walks and to the park, my knees were in pain the entire time. My orthopedic surgeon wanted to do yet another surgery to clean up my joints and I wanted to avoid one. I decided I might as well give acupuncture a try, figuring if it didn't help at least it wasn't as extensive or expensive as a surgery. I looked on Yelp and found Viola. Not only was her demeanor calming & compassionate, but her incredible knowledge shined through. And I was so relaxed in my session, I fell asleep! While I know this may not be the case for some, it took just a few sessions for ALL the pain in my knee to end. I could not believe it! I now see her a few times a year for maintenance and other than that am pretty much pain free. She gave me my life back. With no knee pain I was able to exercise and lose 70 pounds.
