I was freezing after walking around Le Marais and desperately wanted un boisson chaud. I asked if I could sit and just have a pot of tea and they said yes, bien sûre! I was given a choice between French or English menu and asked for both. The tea list is extensive and I found it overwhelming since I don't know much about tea. Luckily, the thè sommelier was happy to help and recommended the thè bleu, fleurs d'oranger oolong to me. It was FANTASTIC, and a very good value, in my opinion, at 12€ per pot. I sat for 45 minutes and people watched happily. I loved this cozy tea shop and would love to return one day!

Special holiday offering in 2022.

One of the best high tea's, they don't give you tons of food, but what they do give you is high in flavor and quality. 3 savories and 3 sweets, plus a special holiday scone. Service was impeccable and the sales associates had patiences. It would be been more outstanding if there was a view, but that's OK. I'd still come here again.

Mariage Frères pays homage to the long tradition of tea through their extensive menu. I am a self professed serious tea connoisseur whose suitcases are bursting full of tea whenever I return from my travels. After the fatigue of traipsing around the most beautiful city in the world, MF offers a beautiful oasis for you to sit down and enjoy tea as well as a selected menu of pastries. Since I'm a very girly girl, I prefer La Durée but MF would be perfect for an afternoon soirée with friends in winter, over a hot cup of tea.

My most amazing meal here at Mariage Frères

One of the best meals I've ever had in my life; this meal was, simply, INCREDIBLE. I'd made reservations for a 3pm lunch and we received a menu that included brunch, lunch, afternoon tea (beginning at 3pm), desserts, and of course, a separate tea menu. The tea menu can be intimidating, but thankfully my friend who frequents this place strongly recommended that I try the Eros tea. For food, I ordered a smoked salmon sandwich that came with a salad, and when I took my first bite, I couldn't believe how delicious it was. It paired well with my tea and I enjoyed my time slowly. They speak English there, though we didn't exchange a word in English until the very end when they realized that my partner and I were holding an English conversation. If you can speak French, please do. Plus, it's always fun to practice! I recommend dressing up a little. The American and English tourists strongly stood out with their tank tops and shorts, sneakers, so I recommend dressing it up a tad. I wore a simple cotton black dress and a black blazer, and my husband wore what we could describe as work clothes back home in the US, but we blended in well. Enjoy!

An iconic Mariage Frères gourmet creation, this dish features duck foie gras, smoked salmon, & shrimp. See menu for full info.

TIP: If it's a hot day, order any of their teas iced, which come in big glass goblet-style wine glass, with a straw! Try the Earl Gray Provénce or the France du Étoile, both fantastic, fragrant teas. I really wasn't expecting to, but ended up spending hours on a Sunday at Mariage Frères, and would happily do it again. Tucked away at a table by the tea bar, I was treated to an afternoon lunch of amazing food, people watching, desserts and, of course, tea. The waitstaff was absolutely impeccable, and didn't rush me at all, as I perused the menus and book handed to me upon seating. Available in both French and English, the book is a fantastic read about Mariage Frères' history, as well as their take on everything tea, from what vessels to use, how to make it properly, to what teas to drink at specific times of the day. It's a fascinating read while enjoying a lovely afternoon in the tea room. It was a dreamy experience, caught somewhere between my English background and the trappings of a beautiful French bistro, tucked away in a small alley. The waiters spoke perfect English and were patient, accommodating, and the entire meal was perfectly executed. The hustle and bustle of the tea shop is just beyond the restaurant. It was so fun to watch the gentlemen, smartly dressed, pulling giant tea canisters from the wall and filling orders. It didn't take much effort to try and imagine what it was like when the store opened in the 1800's. While certainly not the cheapest lunch in Paris, it was extremely filling and will be my only meal of the day. A perfect one at that! I will definitely be going back before the end of my trip in Paris. It really was a fantastic day at Mariage Frères.

If you must have ONE meal during your stay in Paris, have the Champagne Brunch. Amazing presentation and light delicious flavor from beginning to end. Be sure to go upstairs to the museum. Try the Jasmine tea and take away some Paris tea in the classic tin. The mango jam is out of sight!!

The tearoom was awesome. Although they do require reservations, they managed to fit us in. The decor had an old southern style with gentlemen dressed in white. It was a bit intimidating asking for a table. I was a little out of place with shorts and a t-shirt haha. The table next to us weren't too happy seeing asians enjoying tea. I've drank my share of fine teas =) Teas: 1. Matcha Uji (green tea) - From Japan. I've had something similar to this but its soooo goood. Very light on your palate and smooth from start to finish. You don't get that lingering bitter leafy taste at all. I was so hungry but after drinking this tea, I didn't eat much for lunch or dinner. This was so good I bought 4 boxes to take home. 2. Marco Polo English Breakfast - Very very flavorful for english breakfast w/o any bitterness. My friends and i came out of this store with gift boxes and teas. I spent more in this store than several stores I shopped at. Yes, its that good. If you plan on visiting Paris and your a huge tea drinker. I would recommend that you stop by and check this out.

Tea Creme Brûlée. Very rich but very good

I cannot begin to explain how much I love Mariage Frères. Being a tea lover myself seeing how they think of tea as an art and use it in everything they do is like heaven for me!! Each tea I had here while i was in Paris (tried 5 in 4 days!) was perfect. Not only that but their food is so good!! The way the incorporate tea into the food and dessert tastes so amazing. My mom got a brunch and even her jams were tea infused (and great!) I got a matcha salmon dish that was just amazing. For dessert we tried the creme brûlée, they infused it with a black tea and it was so good, and a green tea and rose pound cake that was addicting!! We also took away some tea infused goodies to try! A green tea Madeline, very good and had filling! A Black tea canele, again very good. A raisin scone, amazing! And an earl grey Madeline that I loved!! I'm so upset there are no locations in the US you have NO IDEA. I'm praying one day they bring their genius over cause I've only been away four days and I'm already having withdrawals! Long review short: if you love tea you'll ADORE this place

Not sure what to say! The streets in Le Marias were crowded today so when we decided to duck inside for a tea & quiet it was the perfect atmosphere we were looking for. Service was impeccable but the star of the show was....oh everything! I had the signature Marco Polo Classic tea. It had such a beautiful fragrant smell, but didn't taste like perfume. I also ordered the Classic Brunch with an upgrade dessert. Outstanding! Everything is infused with a tea, but those flavors only enhance the taste. Dessert, was simply beautiful.

My friend got the Nostalgie de Pondichery, a plate of amuse-bouches that had a little bit of everything on the menu.

The owner is straight forward to warn larger groups of the small tight spaces up top and wards off any NBA players without helmets as their is low clearance upstairs. The menu is all French and limited English by the servers but it's easy enough to navigate. We came with 5 for Sunday brunch and sat right away but one had to sort of share space at the table. We ordered mixes of omelettes and Benedicts. All came with nice small whole potatoes and a little sour cream. You can modify or add quite a bit. Eggs are your choice of style ultimately and apparently the brunch includes pancakes. We were confused by that and they come after you've eaten the other items. I'm not sure if we paid for that or not but we chose to move on without. It came with your choice of tea or coffee AND a small orange juice. The eggs were cooked very delicately and moist with cheese and good meat in the omelette. Overall it was a fine breakfast compared to croissants and coffee but a little expensive.
