When having an out of state wedding, it was such a challenge having to do the dress shopping portion solo. Margene's Bridal made it so much easier. I discovered Margene's via yelp and decided to check it out. I had an idea of what I wanted in my wedding dress, however, I still needed help. Please remember though, appointments are required (thank you fellow yelpers for that tip as well). The staff at Margene's was incredibly friendly and helpful. I was able to explain what I wanted and they fully respected my tight budget. I tried on a few dresses that I felt were out of my element... however, the one I chose was perfect for me. I really felt the staff was on the same page as me. Although I did not use a seamstress from their recommended vendors, Margene's staff spoke highly of them. Wedding season is right around the corner. If you're in need of a wedding dress, try Margene's Bridal out. You won't be disappointed.

I visited the shop twice, and I could not say better things about the staff! Something I really like about B. B. Bridal is that they send reminders for appointments through text, and even offer the option to reply back with inspiration photos before your appointment! The staff was professional and used their expertise to help me hone in the style I was hoping for. The shop itself is well organized. When you enter, ballgown styles are on the left and increase in skirt volume as you browse the rack. On the right, the mermaid and sheath wedding gowns are also organized by volume. The bridal consultant had us begin by looking through the sample gowns to see what we liked. She then began to choose dresses for me based on my feedback as I tried them on. The bridal shop environment is casual. Dress prices range between $800 - $2100. Discounts are available through trunk shows and sample sales, which are announced on their website as well as social media! I would highly recommend B. B. Bridal to anyone!

I also chose BB Bridal because this is where my mom got her wedding dress, and her experience had been wonderful. Back then, we didn't pay for the appointment experience and were still served wine in actual wine glasses, so I went in expecting that same warm, celebratory feeling. Unfortunately, my experience was completely different. The day before, I had gone to Kate's Cottage, where I immediately felt celebrated. There was a sign congratulating me on my engagement, our consultant welcomed my whole group, poured me wine, explained everything clearly, included my family, gave me privacy while changing, and genuinely seemed excited to help me. At BB Bridal, the mimosas included with my premium package were sitting there poured and ready, but we were never offered one. From the beginning, the experience just didn't feel special. I was honest with my consultant that I had tried on dresses the day before and had a better idea of what I liked. She asked to see pictures, and after I showed them to her, the energy of the appointment noticeably changed. The dresses she brought me were nothing like what I had explained I wanted. By the third dress, I had to be very clear that I wanted sparkle, glitter, and detail, not a simple satin ball gown. Instead, I kept hearing that alterations could add glitter, change things, or fix different parts of the dress. I wasn't looking for a dress that needed to be transformed into something I loved. I wanted to try on dresses that reflected what I had already explained I wanted. There were also several uncomfortable interactions. My younger sister asked for a longer veil because she didn't know the term "cathedral veil." When she later excitedly said, "Yes, that's the one," the consultant responded with, "Well, that's what that word means," in a tone that came across as unnecessarily condescending. She would also ask my family for their opinions, then immediately remind them that it was about how I felt. Even when I personally said something like, "I don't like this neckline," I was told not to focus on individual details and instead think about how I felt in the dress. But not liking the neckline is part of how I feel in the dress. The changing process was also extremely uncomfortable. There was a robe hanging in the corner, but it was never offered or explained. The consultant was helping me out of the gowns, so I would be standing there in my underwear covering my chest while waiting for the next dress. Instead of having me step into dresses whenever possible, she would hold the gown up and have me duck underneath it and push my head through every time, repeatedly messing up my hair. A simple effort to keep me covered and comfortable between dresses would have made a huge difference. Toward the end, I repeatedly heard comments about wanting to "conserve my energy" and not wanting to waste energy trying certain things. It left me feeling like once it became clear I might not purchase a dress there, the appointment was no longer worth much effort. What disappointed me even more was the response afterward. I called and spoke with the owner because I wanted to explain how uncomfortable the appointment had been, especially since I had paid for the premium experience. I was essentially told that I received my allotted appointment time and that once the consultant knew I had really liked another dress, she didn't see a point in "wasting my energy" when they likely couldn't find what I wanted. If the consultant looked at my pictures and knew BB Bridal didn't carry the style I was looking for, I wish she had simply said that. Something as simple as, "I don't think we have a dress that will give you the same feeling as these pictures, but you paid for this experience, so how would you like to enjoy the rest of your appointment?" would have completely changed things. I paid for the experience whether I purchased a gown or not. Even the gift bag felt like an afterthought. No one told me it was mine until my little sister asked. When I got home, the shirt inside was a 3XL and the robe was a 2XL. I normally wear a small or medium. I understand every bridal shop carries different designers, and I never expected every store to have my dream dress. My disappointment wasn't simply that I preferred the dresses somewhere else. It was how completely different the experience felt. At Kate's Cottage, I felt beautiful, celebrated, comfortable, and listened to. At BB Bridal, I felt uncomfortable, dismissed, and eventually like my appointment was an inconvenience. Unfortunately, speaking with the owner afterward did not change that feeling.

The blonde snob who was working that day treated them like complete crap. Almost in a Pretty woman kind of way. Not only was she completely useless in helping them with dresses, but kept suggesting that this store was too expensive for them. Saying things like, "you know that vail costs like $450" or "Well we import a lot of stuff from Italy soooo". If I had been there that day, I would have lit that pretentious judgemental blonde ditz up. But sadly, I wasn't. It's people like this that make my blood boil. Just because someone isn't dressed up like a barbie doesn't mean they can't afford your imported Italian dresses. Congratulations lady, my fiance didn't have a budget when it comes to the wedding dress, and your disgusting behavior probably cost the store a sale and your "cry for attention" self a nice little commission.

I didn't have any close friends here and didn't really feeling like dragging my "new" friends around and bore/ scare/ terrorize them with wedding dress crap. So I went home and bought my dress with my Mom who I can bore /scare /terrorize as much as I want. Long story short, I wasn't looking for a wedding dress when I walked into Chic Bridal. I was looking for bridesmaid's dresses. Ones that fit 3 very different personalities. I have a graphic designer, lots of tats, piercings, short and blond, standing next to a Christian, innocent, loving, brown hair, naturally blessed, accountant sister in law, standing next to a computer programmer who I have know since 2nd grade, smartest person I have ever met, has some tats, tomboy and a girlfriend with the same name as her. OK, they are different, but they love me, and I love them. And I am trying to make them happy. Just like Annie, the woman who was working with me at Chic Bridal was trying hard to make me! She was working hard when I got there, helping someone else, buying a wedding dress (lots more money than my measly bridesmaids dresses). But that didn't stop her. She was so helpful, and kind, and kept bringing me more dresses so we could pinpoint all personalities. It was such a great experience, I started getting jealous I didn't buy me dress here! Best of all, she was my "friend" cause I didn't bring any of my own. She told me what was good, bad, and just plain wrong with something. They had a ton of wedding dresses and when I let my eye's wonder I saw some that I really liked! I couldn't look, I can't return mine, but there was some beautiful dresses with some nice looking price tags, when I allowed myself just one peak! ($500-$850, about half the price of my dress)
