The second restaurant you see walking into the historical section. It's quite big with beautiful classic architecture of old wooden split doors that open wide and folding windows. They have two kitchens, one for pizza and the other for all the rest. They have a big bar, a full wine cellar, a large stage with live music and a huge tv screen perfect for sports games. This place was calm for a late lunch but looked like it could get hectic in the evening with plenty of seating. Service was friendly and the menu is in both Portuguese and English, which suggests a lot of tourists come through. Note on your tab they charge a tourist tax (R$1) and a live music change (R$6 per person). Food was pretty decent. The mushroom risotto with filet mignon. They messed up on my order bringing out fried shrimp instead of fried squid, but politely corrected it. The lula croconte was crispy and fresh though the tartar sauce was more to be desired. They had the local Paraty beer cabeire and the pineapple juice was fresh. read more

Had a great ambiance. The waiters were very attentive but the restaurant doesn't really kick into high gear till about 8pm. We showed up at 7 and had the place to ourselves. Waiter got our dinner than disappeared to the back tables to eat his dinner. Sort of inconvenient but there were plenty of people standing around doing nothing. Had the chef special fish. A durado which was grilled perfectly with yucca and zucchini with an Alfredo shrimp sauce. That wasn't the best part but the fish shined. Bread mixers good and the fish spread with Gorgonzola, cherry tomatoes and sweet Onion relish were good. They charge an artist "tax" if they have live music. Just an FYI. Big video monitor was playing archive Amy winehouse so no charge. The menu is in English and Portuguese. read more

What a beautiful restaurant! The ambience and food were amazing. I ordered the shrimp and cream pastry appetizer ( pastel de camarão) after the waiter dropped off the menus and never came back. I was very hungry so I had to call him over and ask if I could order. They only had 3 tables busy, it's a Tuesday night. He had to call the waiter over for our drinks, food, dessert and check. Every time!!! In the last time we saw us waiving at him and finish his conversation with another employee for about 5 min before he came with our checks. They were laughing and dancing. The food came out perfect and in great time, we ordered the risotto and fish. Go there for the food and expect horrible service. read more

The food is really good however you have to hunt down a waiter, really bad service. I was expecting more since it's a nicer and more expensive place. Loved it. We came at the recommendation of our hotelier. We came in hungry fresh off a boat tour and really enjoyed our meals. I started with ceviche which was fresh and light. My trout dish entree was probably the best trout I've ever had. It was complemented perfectly with some smashed sweet potatoes and grilled (I think) vegetables. The combination of these elements was superb. The other 4 in my party all had roasted chicken which came with the choice of either pesto spaghetti or a salad. Meals came with an assortment of breads. We were hear on a Friday night at around 7:15pm and were seated promptly. Within a half hour the place was pretty packed and the live entertainment had started. The only odd thing was that it was billed as a pizzeria and we were told that pizza were not served until after 8pm. Not a big issue but a little odd. Food was ok, but service was lame, we had to call the waiters repeatedly to ask for anything. The big surprise was when we had the bill, we had to pay a tourist tax (never seen that during my stay in Brazil) and we also payed the music we listened to during diner (one musician played 3 songs on his guitar), 9R$ per person !! read more

Fantastic service and delicious food! It's a nicer restaurant, but still welcoming. The coconut risotto that came with my Brazilian fish was fantastic. We enjoyed the environment and meal so much that we went there for dinner the next night as well (typically I'm opposed to dining at the same venue twice). If possible, request to sit in the garden.
