This is the only restaurant in Portugal that asked for a tip. Afterwards I realized they ripped me off because VAT was included in my meal price. Don't fall for the tip is not included, it might be because I am American. My server was on the grumpy side and never once smiled, but I think that is his personality, he smiled for no one. Food: I ordered the pasta with chile, calamari, and shrimp. It was a unique pasta with garlic and tiny amounts of ginger, that played very well and there was like 2 chile rings and then calamari and shrimp. The pasta was cooked perfectly and right amount of sauce that just played well together. The calamari was cooked to perfection as was the shrimp but a few were not cleaned properly but everything tasted good. The chile did have a tiny bite so somebody might think this is spicy but was not for me, finally something with flavor. I did not eat all the pasta because then I ordered the octopus. The octopus was not cleaned properly but the texture was spot on and the taste was great, I added some of my own hot sauce on the side to give it some kick. Odd to have a boiled egg with the octopus, good taste but the green ring indicates the egg was overcooked. Everything was temperature hot and served fairly quickly. WiFi available. I should have just ordered the pasta because that was fantastic! The octopus was okay but took some work to clean. The pasta gives this place a 5. Service and tip with VAT already included would drop to 2. The octopus is 3 stars. But the pasta was the best meal thus far in Portugal.

The fifth person, who did not eat oysters, remained completely fine. We informed the restaurant promptly and submitted a complaint through the official Portuguese Livro de Reclamações. While the restaurant initially engaged, they denied any connection, requested medical documentation, and ultimately just stopped responding altogether... The whole experience resulted in our entire household being affected all at the same time, causing significant distress and two full days of missed work and school. Our elderly family friend got quite sick, used to be a regular customer there, he didn't even get an apology. We made repeated attempts to resolve the situation amicably and provided supporting documentation of the impact, but no resolution was ever offered (our total bill was approximately €380). Given how touristy the location is, we didn't have the greatest expectation, but we were pleasantly surprised. First of all, the service was impeccable. While not native speakers, when it came to food and service servers could speak and understand a great English and were very helpful when it came to helping out with the choice of drinks and food. The passionfruit sangria is the signature of the location and came in absolutely ginormous glasses, when ordered on a by-glass fashion (while still being reasonably priced). Not only was it refreshing, it was also surprisingly delicious for such a spot. For starters, we both went with gazpacho soup. While not authentic, it felt right for the weather and how we felt. Once again, it was extremely tasty and looked great! For the main dish, I took a whole-roasted fish (sea bass I believe) and once again, I was amazing. It was tender, it was well-seasoned, it was fresh, it was delicious and it came with a great seasoned olive sauce and baking potatoes. A really great example of the amazing seafood one can find in Portugal! My partner however was not as lucky. The crevettes skewer was lackluster and lacked any sauce or seasoning, while the crevettes were overcooked and rolled in flour prior to cooking, giving them a specific and not a very pleasant texture. Now, the desert - I went with a chocolate mousse - kept the whole trend of the culinary excellence going and was both chocolaty and delicious to the maximum.
