Went to a movie for $6 Tuesday I was a bit put off by the tiny parking lot, we had to park in a lot across the street. Then rationally realized it's not further than if it was one big lot. I was disappointed to see that they differ from the Oakdale MN Marcus theater that tends to have benches outside most theaters. My mom bought her ticket. Buying my ticket after her I said I'd need a ticket to the same movie. I went to the restroom before the movie, then tried to find my mom in a dark theater. When she arrived she told me to get up. Confused, I left with her. We returned to the box office as the employee sold us 6:30 tickets when she had asked for 6:45. Slight mix-up; didn't cause us to miss any of the movie or wait in a long line to correct the issue, so I didn't find it a big deal, an easily fixable issue. read more

The movie was great and the stadium seating was great, but not so much with the people that work there. First, when we went there, the front sidewalk was not shoveled very well or salted, and I had somebody that was handicapped. Second, there was a surcharge on the movie. I could understand that if they posted on their door or on their website which they did not and I drove 35 miles to see that movie. When I inquired with the manager, all he could say was I should've bought my tickets online. I clearly stated to him that it was not on your door. It was not on your website and I even showed him that it wasn't on the website he had the gall to say well you shit bought your tickets online and was really rude about it. He could've said. I'm sorry for the inconvenience or multitude of other things. Of course he didn't look like he was more than 25. He acted like a brat instead of a manager. Third so that The person I took to the movies who had a walker did not have to go through that snow again. I had her wait at the back of the theater and I picked her up the back which is an exit was worse than the front, but I was not going to make her walk all the way back again. It was not salted icy, and the snow was not cleared very well so when this theater says they're handicap accessible BS I will never go back there again and I will never recommend anybody to go there go to Eau Claire go to Winona go to Rochester, but don't even bother with lacrosse because I had a horrible experience read more

The movies are still good. The theater was dirtier than typical. Don't think you are getting a good deal on the bucket popcorn, NO REFILLS PEOPLE NOT WORTH THE MONEY. Then if you need anything after a movie, while other movies are STILL PLAYING - NOT THE LAST SHOW OF THE NIGHT - GOOD LUCK FINDING ANYONE & IF YOU DO GOOD LUCK IF THEY SPEAK ENGLISH. You know they make AMERICANS learn Spanish down South, well then the Spanish speaking people need to learn ENGLISH UP NORTH IT IS OUR PRODOMINANT LANGUAGE. At least teach them MANAGER AND TO GO GET ONE WHEN SOMEONE SAYS MANAGER. THIS WAS THE ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD AT A MARCUS THEATER EVER. And my 1st job when I was younger was at a movie theater. This theater is NOT BEING MANAGE WELL AT ALL. And the employees need both more training on customer service and English. I attended the DCI 2022 Tour Premiere tonight. I always loved Marcus Theaters and their seats. Very comfortable and inviting. They recline by electronically pushing the button on the left side of the seat! Try not to fall asleep!!! Tonight, I was pretty frustrated. I've never been frustrated with this theater, but tonight I was and I know it really isn't their fault. The premiere was something I had been waiting for! We missed at least 15 minutes to the start of the DCI show and the entire score set at the end. I did speak to a manager and they are willing to give me free movie passes. If it weren't for the fact that the tickets were 15 bucks each, then I wouldn't have said anything, but that's a lot for 1 ticket and for the technical issues that happened. I didn't appreciate the kid in the background telling the manager I was looking for "freebies" cause that makes me look desperate which I'm not, so that was annoying. Other than that, I'm appreciative for them willing to make this right. If anyone reading this went to the show at Marcus Theaters in La Crosse, WI, be sure to say something! read more

Just because this is the ONLY movie theatre around does not give the management the right to run it into the ground... I paid for two tickets to see a movie at 10:30 am. I was very shocked to see how unclean the entire theatre was. The lobby, the hallways, the restrooms, and the theatre itself were disgustingly filthy. There was popcorn on every floor (hallways and inside the theatre). The seats were littered with popcorn, napkins, empty drink cups, nacho chip containers, and other miscellaneous trash. One of the seats was broken/vandalized while another was covered with what appeared to be vomit. At this point I spoke with the manager about the theatre conditions, he compensated us for our tickets, and had staff clean a small area of the theatre for us to sit in (four minutes before the movie started). Part way through the movie, I visited the men's restroom. You can tell how much a business cares about its appearance by the cleanliness of its restroom facilities. Besides the entire cinema looking like a dump, the restrooms continued to show how poor the customer service at Marcus Cinema actually is. The men's rest room was absolutely repulsive. The entire room smelled of urine, and one of the urinals was damaged and had a caution wet floor sign in it to signify it was out of order (which someone still urinated on). The counter top and sink was dirty and sticky, with the appearance it had not been cleaned in some time. The paper towel holder was out of paper towels and the trash can was over flowing. I have been in truck stop restrooms that seem like the Taj Mahal in comparison to the Marcus Theatre restroom. I complained again to management about the filthy theatre and restrooms. I received an apathetic response from the manager stating, "it's not my job [to clean]." At that point I just gave up and left. I was not impressed with the staff or the theatre environment. I felt dirty from just being in the building and I couldn't wait to leave. With the theatre conditions as they are, I will not be visiting this theatre again or recommended it to anyone. read more

This theatre has gone through a complete renaissance in the last several months. They've done a full renovation of both the lobby area and the physical theatres themselves. There are all-new leather reclining seats in each of the theatres, updated restrooms and the lobby area competes with some of the newer theatres in bigger cities than I've been to. It's also spotlessly clean, and the service there is always polite, professional and quick. Other reviewers have mentioned that the theatre is expensive, but I find that their prices are right in line with the national average. Tickets are about $11 per person for a 2D movie, and I would challenge anyone who says that's not the norm these days. To cut costs, maybe consider skipping the concession stand. Another great benefit is the movie rewards club - you get points for every dollar you spend on tickets and concessions. 100 points turns into a $5 gift certificate, so that adds up quickly and is a really nice little perk. The movies are good and is ok sound. But I have to agree with the other reviews. The theater is just messy. It feels kinda dirty to sit in there. The staff paid to clean appear to lean and talk more than they clean. When asked for help for which theater the same 'cleaning crew' was very rude in pointing out the right theater I would be very disappointed if I were employing them. Nice theater located in the LaCrosse area. We made a last-minute decision to go see Avengers: Endgame, as we were in town visiting our daughter who is a student at UW-LAX. Unfortunately, it was a snowy-rainy day, and our plans had been for outdoor activities, which became a no-go. We were dismayed when there were no tickets available (we know, big move, big box office)... but my husband went and talked to one of the managers who was willing to sell us the handicap companion seats, as no-one had come in to buy the handicap-accessible seats. So, we lucked out and really appreciate the manager helping to accommodate us so that we could do this fun activity with our daughter. read more

Not the fanciest or cleanest cinema we've ever visited, but it gets the job done. The place had an odd layout and we always think that the side exit always looks like the main entrance; you pretty much have to park in the back and walk all the way around to the entry (there's no parking in the front). You come for the movies and we've never had a complaint about the sound/picture at Marcus Cinemas. The employees are always friendly and polite too. The theater gets a boost in rating because they have a phenomenal repeat customer program and their $5 for a ticket and popcorn on Tuesday. read more

They just upgraded all of their theaters to the lounger recliners in La Crosse so it was great to really get comfy and watch a movie with my family over the holiday. My brother didn't realize but then I pointed out that what looked like a "double seat" was easily converted back into singletons. Many of the seat combos have arm rests that go up or down like on an airplane. A good tip for those of you would like to snuggle up during a movie! This location also moved and spruced up their concessions (looking good), and went to having guests print off their own tickets if they bought them ahead of time (super easy). Just a comment about the Marcus Bay Park Cinema in Ashwaubenon Wi We love going to the movies. A while ago we went to the cinema in Ashwaubenon and could not believe how dirty the place was. The concession area was so bad we wouldn't think about getting anything. We thought that maybe they were short staffed! Giving it another chance we went again, the same condition. There is no reason for the whole place to look like that. We will never go there again! I am giving it a one star because there is no minus. read more

This cinema is drastically going downhill by the staff and the new system they have. Multiple times I have tried to see a movie with friends and got there well in advance to see that there's just random single seats available. The self-purchasing kiosks never work correctly and it's very frustrating that there are never enough showtimes or seats. Just because they have the new seating doesn't make this place any nicer, it just leaves people like me annoyed that there's not enough seating. Marcus Cinema is the only place within a half an hour to go watch a movie at night. It would be nice to see another theater open around here or have a better system at this theater that includes people selling the tickets, not a machine. In icy conditions and early showings and senior day on Tuesday, should really consider cleaning up the slick icy parking lot. Sure, maybe we should stay home and you don't have to make money on that day. Also, the concession lines were so long we decided not worth the wait. Losing money that way, too! For a theatre so small, I would expect to see it very well kept. It really doesn't take much intelligence to know that IF THERE'S A MESS WHERE SOMEONE CAN SEE IT, CLEAN IT UP. I walk in with my friend and the people at the front were just there.. I know it sucks working on the weekends but if you come to work, and all your job entails completing ticket transactions then you should be doing it with a great attitude, and a friendly face. (First impression is everything)The ladies' restroom could also use some attention. It only has 2 stalls, it wouldn't take too much effort for a quick clean up. Annnnndddd last but not least, the theatre itself was trashed. Huge soda mess on the floor, trash and food on some of the seats and our movie was about to start. Obviously they don't care enough to check on the theater's cleanliness before they invite their guests in to watch a movie. Not exactly what I expect when I pay 10.50. If you want to keep your guests coming back please do a better job in managing this place. If you don't like business then just keep doing what you're doing. read more

Not impressed with the fact they don't have the movie showtimes at the theatre that is displayed online. Not only was my daughter upset because she didn't understand why it wasn't showing, but the groups of people that they were turning down were upset as well; they did nothing but turns us away. Customer service should have been displayed with at least some sort of apology from the staff, but there was no remorse or sign of sympathy for their mistake! read more

The first time I've ever been here the lady at the register for the tickets was extremely rude and she admitted it. Then just moments later when we were talking to the manager she tried to deny it. Marcus is definitely capitalizing on the fact that it is the only show in town. It is expensive, and the theaters are consistently filthy. The men's room has been in various stages of ill repair for years now and is typically very dirty and ill-kept, or downright disgusting on occasion - it just never gets any better. I only wish that people would stop rating Marcus Cinema in La Crosse based on the fact that it's the only theater around, this doesn't warrant a good review. The movie theaters themselves are fine, nothing special; but they are perfectly fine. It's the experience before you get into the theater that bothers me the most. My wife and I arrived in the morning to see an early showing of the Stephen Hawking movie and I went to try and find the restroom as usual before the movie starts...I couldn't find it, it wasn't in a normal location like next to the women's bathroom. I did eventually end up using the one by the concessions stand. I decided I wanted the addicting movie popcorn, without looking at the actual sizes (My fault) I ordered the large. I noticed after ordering the large that the popcorn didn't really seem fresh in the concession display. When I got into the theater and started eating, it was extremely cold and stale; as if they put the leftovers from the previous night into the display and rolled with it. I wouldn't be that upset if it wasn't for the fact that I paid nearly $9.00 for popped kernels. I wouldn't recommend Marcus to anyone if there was another option in the area. read more
