However, having endured abuse, threats, harassment, and constant self-doubt, I had come to understand that life isn't about right or wrong, but about summoning the strength and determination to steer your own course. It's about being brave, holding grace under fire. Courageous people might not always be the most popular, but that's exactly the kind of support I was seeking at this point in my life. I'm incredibly grateful my search led me to Valerie. She is one of the brightest people I've met--knowledgeable, articulate, direct, and deeply empathetic. She listened to my story and, instead of offering just comfort, she reassured me in a way that was rooted in real understanding. The advice she gave was not only wise but incredibly practical--smart, to the point, and immediately useful. I've found it incredibly helpful, both during our session and in the days that followed. Valerie gave me more than just empathy; she gave me tools to move forward with clarity and confidence. I would recommend Valerie to anyone seeking professional counseling or therapy, as well as to anyone looking for someone who can inspire them to feel more courageous, energetic, and confident in their own life.

Even though I knew I'd be here a long time, there was this huge 'buyer's remorse' I was unable to shake which was overpowering my sense of pride at being able to buy my own home as well as my excitement at what was possible after renovation. After clearing the negative energy and refilling my home with the blessings ceremony, I feel sooo much better, much more peaceful, and the agitation is gone. I'm able to be more accepting that in time it will become my own as I transform it into the beautiful space and mood I desire. Dr. Dufford returned my call promptly and he was very kind and understanding to my situation as usual. Sadly, Dr. Dufford was not able to fit me in as a returning patient at the time that I called, Dr. Dufford instead gave me a referral to two other Psychologists that specialize in treating the Complex PTSD that I suffer from and was recently diagnosed with. Dr. Michelle Chabbot was the Psychologist that I first reached out to following the multiple traumatic events that led to my Complex PTSD diagnoses and that caused my PTSD Panic Attack. I study Psychology myself, and I was very shaken when I contacted Dr. Chabbot, as I'd never experienced at PTSD Panic Attack before, and I never even knew that someone could suffer from something as terrible as a PTSD Panic Attack. Dr. Chabbot answered the phone immediately, and she was kind and caring enough to take the time to help me immediately. She even answered some emergency questions that I had regarding my recent Complex PTSD diagnoses and the PTSD Panic Attack that I suffered. Dr. Chabbot did all of this for me during her time off on the weekend, when she was out of town on vacation. Talking with Dr. Chabbot, meant so very much to me. I immediately felt comfortable with Dr. Chabbot and I immediately knew that I was in good hands with regards to finding help to treat my Complex PTSD Disability. I'll be continuing my treatment with Dr. Chabbot moving forward, and I'll be sure to update my review along the way as well. I can tell Dr. Chabbot is an extremely gifted and knowledgeable Psychologist, and she is exceptionally knowledgeable and gifted in the area of PTSD especially. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Dr. Chabbot/Dr. Dufford, if you are ever in need. I also urge anyone reading this to reach out to Dr. Dufford/Dr. Chabbot if you are in any need of mental healthcare. It's vital to seek the aid of a Psychologist if you've ever experienced going through a traumatic life event (such as a car accident, workplace discrimination, domestic violence, Ableist bullying, really anything that happens that is traumatic in life, can potentially lead to PTSD I'm told. On top of this, in my own personal experience, PTSD appears to me to be a self fueling condition/ mental illness/disability, meaning that PTSD can worsen over time, if left untreated. What this means is that, it's vital to seek the help of a qualified mental healthcare professional immediately following a traumatic life event. If one doesn't immediately get the treatment that one needs, ones PTSD could quickly worsen, that and one could easily develop "layers" of PTSD, from multiple traumatic events as well. In addition to this, PTSD can also VERY QUICKLY develop into a life threatening condition/mental illness/disability, so please don't ever hesitate to get seek immediate help. Even if you just suspect you might need help, then immediately seek out that help as your mental health can quickly worsen, leaving you in a life threatening situation.

Unless you are the paying parent, she has no intention of bringing families together after trauma, but instead adds to the trauma. She is the most manipulative, dishonest, vile "family" therapist out there. She destroyed my young teen girls' lives, along with other family connections that we continue to repair years later. She 100% supports the abusive paying parent and, as an "expert witness" therapist for family court, fabricates stories about the caring non-paying parent from her "information" sessions. She has absolutely no concern for the children's best interests or overall family reconnection. She did nothing but engage in small talk and 5 year old craft activities while meeting the teen girl's, supported my ex's despicable goal to take 14 and 12 year old girls away from their mother for 90 days no contact. She succeeded through the abuser's blatant lies and inaccurate versions of circumstances, portraying him as the victim. It took a year and half to bring my girls back to a shared custody through drawn out court hearings/trial and massive attorney and court ordered "reunification" expenses. Her standard response is "well, in high conflict, one parent is always going to be unhappy with the outcome". Guess which parent? The one not paying her, who protects the kids and their best interests. Her many poor reviews in similar cases say it all.
