One of the bigger Christmas markets in Paris - several restaurants and many vendors to choose from, selling items like pastries, cheese, meats, as well as items like jewelry, Christmas decorations, and souvenirs. We went on a Saturday at noon; it was raining that day so luckily there weren't too many people, and we were able to walk around without there being massive crowds and without having to maneuver a lot around people. There are tents in the middle where you can set down your food and eat, but there are limited chairs so expect to stand and eat.
We got the famous raclette sandwich and a vin chaud (mulled wine) and chocolat chaud (hot chocolate). The raclette is pungent but super smooth and earthy, and absolutely delicious when melted over the ham. I wouldn't call myself the biggest cheese fan in general, but I was craving raclette with bread the rest of the trip. The vin chaud and chocolat chaud made me feel super cozy. The mulled wine was "spicy" with subtle hints of orange - almost felt like a hot version of a sangria! The hot chocolate was rich and smooth - it wasn't super sweet (perfect amount), making it easy to finish the entire thing.
Would recommend this market, as it's way less crowded than La Magie de Noël in the Tuileries Gardens (at least during lunch time) but still serves plenty of variety and is large in size. read more
