I'm hopeful this may prove helpful to people like Bryant M. and others who frequently make the trip from Columbus to Louisville on I-71.
We were making the trek from Columbus to Louisville when the the "idiot light" came on the dash indicating that we were dangerously low on gas. It was after 9pm we weren't sure we were going to find a fuel station or one that was going to still be open late and we were on a busy, but lonely stretch of highway. We hadn't seen any exits at all, especially something indicating we could get fuel. Not knowing how AAA service would handle a call or even if we had
cell service, our concern grew.
Desperate for gas, we continued on and discovered an exit for Campbellsburg, KY. We got off the freeway and were happy to discover that there were two stations just off the exit. We chose "Marathon, Quik-E-Mart."
The cost of gas was even lower than we'd seen around Cincinnati. The manager, Christina was very friendly, the store and restrooms were clean, the merchandise was organized and neat and she told me they were open till 11 pm.
So, we got some snack food for rest of the jaunt to Louisville and a full-up of gas and were off and running.
Good place to know about if traveling this quiet stretch of road. read more
