This restaurant was recommended on another site and was close to our hotel. The menu was quite…read moreextensive and included some price fixe 3-course meals.
Some reviewers have commented about the slow service. We did not experience slow service although it took a while for the waiter to greet us (I have since learned this may just be how it's done in Buenos Aires). However, a couple sitting behind us who arrived before we did received their meal after we did. They were not pleased and the waiter made apologies. I would not have been pleased either.
We opted for grilled salmon and vegetables. The salmon was cooked perfectly. The vegetables were good, but nothing special.
Reviewers also complained about the service fee. This is not the first time I have been charged a fee at a restaurant in Buenos Aires. I don't like the practice either, but I'm not going to lower a rating for a restaurant that follows a common practice.
Prices are very reasonable in Buenos Aires and this meal was fairly priced.
I'm giving 4 stars ( I would have preferred 3.5 stars if that were possible) because of the quality of food -good, but not exceptional. Tipping is not required in Argentina, but 10% is appreciated. However, when someone (not our waiter) took my credit card, he was very pushy about adding a certain amount. I was planning on leaving a tip as our waiter was very good and attentive. Fortunately, I had an amount in mind so I didn't feel pressure to give the amount the person wanted me to give. Another reason for a four star rating.
