He takes his time to engage with you and really puts in the effort to understand what you need, and more importantly what you want. He truely listens to each individual and tries to incorporate their wishes into his treatment plan. He makes you feel like what you want in your treatment matters, and that your input is valued. For years, I felt never good enough and for even longer I felt that I wasn't good. Ten years later, I know that the other side is a real thing. I know that I am good. I know that I am worthy. Dr. Dufford returned my call promptly and he was very kind and understanding to my situation as usual. Sadly, Dr. Dufford was not able to fit me in as a returning patient at the time that I called, Dr. Dufford instead gave me a referral to two other Psychologists that specialize in treating the Complex PTSD that I suffer from and was recently diagnosed with. Dr. Michelle Chabbot was the Psychologist that I first reached out to following the multiple traumatic events that led to my Complex PTSD diagnoses and that caused my PTSD Panic Attack. I study Psychology myself, and I was very shaken when I contacted Dr. Chabbot, as I'd never experienced at PTSD Panic Attack before, and I never even knew that someone could suffer from something as terrible as a PTSD Panic Attack. Dr. Chabbot answered the phone immediately, and she was kind and caring enough to take the time to help me immediately. She even answered some emergency questions that I had regarding my recent Complex PTSD diagnoses and the PTSD Panic Attack that I suffered. Dr. Chabbot did all of this for me during her time off on the weekend, when she was out of town on vacation. Talking with Dr. Chabbot, meant so very much to me. I immediately felt comfortable with Dr. Chabbot and I immediately knew that I was in good hands with regards to finding help to treat my Complex PTSD Disability. I'll be continuing my treatment with Dr. Chabbot moving forward, and I'll be sure to update my review along the way as well. I can tell Dr. Chabbot is an extremely gifted and knowledgeable Psychologist, and she is exceptionally knowledgeable and gifted in the area of PTSD especially. Please do not hesitate to reach out to Dr. Chabbot/Dr. Dufford, if you are ever in need. I also urge anyone reading this to reach out to Dr. Dufford/Dr. Chabbot if you are in any need of mental healthcare. It's vital to seek the aid of a Psychologist if you've ever experienced going through a traumatic life event (such as a car accident, workplace discrimination, domestic violence, Ableist bullying, really anything that happens that is traumatic in life, can potentially lead to PTSD I'm told. On top of this, in my own personal experience, PTSD appears to me to be a self fueling condition/ mental illness/disability, meaning that PTSD can worsen over time, if left untreated. What this means is that, it's vital to seek the help of a qualified mental healthcare professional immediately following a traumatic life event. If one doesn't immediately get the treatment that one needs, ones PTSD could quickly worsen, that and one could easily develop "layers" of PTSD, from multiple traumatic events as well. In addition to this, PTSD can also VERY QUICKLY develop into a life threatening condition/mental illness/disability, so please don't ever hesitate to get seek immediate help. Even if you just suspect you might need help, then immediately seek out that help as your mental health can quickly worsen, leaving you in a life threatening situation.

I thought I should leave one anyways because the one posted a few days ago gives a distinctly wrong impression of the man, and I don't think it's right that the only patient review on this page should be that. Nobody is perfect because nobody can be, but Doctor Yang is a professional and efficient psychiatrist. I went to the good doctor for my mood disorder, and he gave me a questionnaire that I filled out rather quickly, and we spent the majority of that first session discussing what was necessary to diagnose and treat me. I have gone back a few times since June and he has worked with me in a manner that is considerate to my will for my mind and body. These visits to his office have brought me the benefit of bringing my mind back into my reach. Because he is a professional who had the capacity to bring me treatment, I have been able to regain the self-control I needed to become a better friend, a better part of my family, a better worker, a better artist, a better person. He is a good psychiatrist. He is capable and maybe he can help you. He is obviously not perfect, but I think it is sadly ridiculous to expect that from anything and especially anyone. It is the essential nature of all things that there is no perfection, and so we must do with the best we can get. You can do well with Doctor Yang, and he has my recommendation.

If on the other hand, you're looking for someone to treat you holistically with both therapy and medications including in-depth analysis of hormones in addition to the far more extensive thyroid panels than my original psychiatrist ran, then Michelle is the one for you. Also, while she is always aware of your low moods, if you're looking for someone to coddle you and just say 'Oh my poor baby!' and pat your hand, when instead you need directness, she also is not that. She is sensitive, and does modulate her demeanor absolutely appropriately depending on where you are in your recovery if you're in the throes of severe highs or lows. I've been seeing her for over 10 years and she is why I am as whole and functioning as I am. She is the one that characterized my progesterone levels as being too low, contributing to my anxiety that drove me into MDD episodes. She also ran thyroid panels that showed my active T3 was too low, instead of just looking at T4 like the rest of the MDs. She also worked with me to teach me to set therapy boundaries and responsibility so that I wouldn't dive into heavy therapy and exhaust myself emotionally. Boundaries, who would have thought?? So yeah, by all means, skip her if you just want a shoddy, half assed, 'Oh my poor dear' shoulder to cry on. If you want to actually live a functional life then see her as much and often as possible.

I ended up going through a divorce, and receiving quality care at a more affordable price helped me immensely. I found Dr. Indianer to be a "straight shooter," and I would even say she showed me some tough love when I needed to try to focus more on my present and future rather than dwelling in the past or remaining caught up in my backstory. That being said, she is an extremely caring individual, spiritual, and personable. I recommend Dr. Indianer as a psychiatrist and osteopath for those of us, especially middle aged and older, who seek a wise helper who is practical and wants others to attain their optimum physical and mental health.

The need for the medicine only came about on a few occasions but combined with the 12 steps, and a strong Faith, Dr. Klimdt and I are living proof of a true success story against the most extreme odds possible. There is quite a bit of political corruption with the courts since my step father was a billionaire before he passed, and now am dealing with having to investigate alongside FBI such people as Mayor Sheng Thao of Oakland, who was recently raided for political corruption after my December 2022 complaint uncovered evidence the FBI needed to execute the warrant in their ongoing investigations. (See my email in photos of this yelp post). In conclusion, Dr. Klimdt was originally referred to me by a lifelong friend and former college professor, George Hinn, and both deserve noble prizes imo.
