The technician took me back to the lovely serene table area. She put on the tape and the lights and then declared she would need to remove all my existing extensions. That seemed extreme to me but I trusted her "white coat" opinion. Once all the lashes were removed and I looked like a naked mole rat she decided that she could not continue and would not give me any new extensions. She said "you have an infection". I can assure you I did NOT have an infection. Even if I did, she could've and should've noticed this under the lights before removing my existing extensions. I am sure that Divine lashes will assert that she was using her best professional insights, but to me this all felt very fishy and unprofessional. Once a technician says she "can't" work on you and uses a pseudo scientific excuse as to why not there is really no arguing. It was manipulative and punishing. As a long time consumer of lash and aesthetic services I conclude that she was not confident in her skills to give my sparse lashes extensions and that she put the blame on me by claiming infection. My eyes are fine so were my eyelids and skin. They then proceeded to charge me for lash removal. I paid and I tipped well because I was feeling ashamed. My advice is for customers to be wary of this business. This weaponizing of supposed expertise is a cover up for having a limited ability to provide skilled service across a range of situations. The more officious the less able they are to creatively help make you beautiful. Try somewhere else. I did and they gave me beautiful extensions right away. (the lashes in the photo here were NOT from Divine but another place that rescued me. And yes, my eyes look red but that is how they are sometimes. It is not pathology) But Divine sent me away in tears.

RACIST ASSAULT AGAINST CLIENT…read more If I could give zero or less stars I would. A couple of days ago I found out that this place had a new apprentice who was doing tattoos for free to advance herself in the field. I went to get one done, the work was decent, athough I had a very aggressive consultation from the head piercer. I was asking questions out of curiosity for pricing on certain piercings and was met with condescending responses rejecting my business. Unfortunately, I had to come back today as two of my friends were going to get the same deal with the new tattoo girl. Once they were finally met by an employee working in the shop, after a very very long wait time, and after getting a copy of my friend Nick's ID they accused him of falsifying the document, and racially profiling him as "mexican" and "black". Nick, clearly was offended by the racial slurs and uncalled for accusations on his identity so took back his stencil he provided that he was going to have tattooed on him saying that the guy acting out of line for Slick Styled Steel was a dumbass, ripped up the stencil and walked out of the shop to meet up with a girlfriend he was there with. Not one but TWO men followed Nick out of the shop and began yelling at him saying "get the fuck out of here now!", Nick turned around and the employee named Alex assaulted him by pushing him into the street. Now, not only is this cause for pressing charges against him for assault, but also, the employee named Alex and the other employee named Jesse were under the impression that Nick was under the age of 18. To me, thats assaulting a minor. This will be going directly to the SPVM as a report of aggravated assault with the intent to harm a minor. This will be the last time any of us will enter this shop for obvious reasons and I would advise any one else to do the same. Thank you for the very extreme altercation that should have never happened in the first place. Racial profiling and assault are never something any business should promote and serious action needs to be taken against all parties involved with Slick Styled Steel.

Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing from beginning to end. 1. Very limited color availability The salon was out of every shellac color I initially selected. I had to repeatedly go through the sample books to find a color that was actually available, which took unnecessary time and was frustrating. 2. Customer service I did not feel welcomed during my visit. The staff mostly spoke to each other in a language I could not understand instead of communicating with me, which made me feel excluded and uncomfortable. Whenever I raised a concern, I felt that the responsibility was placed back on me rather than my concerns being addressed. 3. Product quality Please refer to the attached photos. My shellac started peeling in less than one week. The actual shellac color looked noticeably different from the catalog sample. The polish was so sheer that the tips of my nails remained visible. When I pointed this out, I was told that I should choose a more opaque color next time instead of being offered a solution. Considering that shellac is expected to last much longer, this was very disappointing. 4. Pedicure For me, a pedicure should be a relaxing experience. Unfortunately, I felt that everything was done as quickly as possible, and I left feeling rushed rather than relaxed. I understand this may be subjective, but it was genuinely how I experienced the service. 5. Manicure I am still unsure why, after receiving a professional manicure, I ended up with painful cuticles, peeling skin, and small scars around several nails. This is not something I have experienced after manicures at other salons. I have had my nails done at other places before, so I was not expecting perfection--only the standard of care that most professional salons provide. Update after the appointment After the pedicure, one of my toes had been cut painfully during the service. Subsequently, I developed paronychia (a nail fold infection) in that toe and required medical treatment. I cannot say with certainty what caused the infection, but this occurred after the injury I sustained during the pedicure, which made the experience even more concerning. Overall, based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend this salon.

While I was going into the room, she left me for a few minutes to change and she came in with a smile. She took the time to make sure her job is well done before I changed back. Overall, I got 20$ off from the appointment because of one of the treatments that I did that required less maintenance. I really appreciated her professionalism and she did an amazing job on me. She curled it (I'll ask my mom to send me a pic she took and I'll upload it ASAP). It was two different sizes of curls and I had a side bang going, it was cute. I said I wanted it to stay thick and primarily just be clean up, and she did exactly that. She threaded a bit and then tweezed and trimmed, and my eyebrows look amazing. I'm so grateful. If I lived in the area, this would be my regular spot. Prices are good too! I highly recommend, very high praise from me! Credit card payment is accepted at the card terminal.
