I'm 23 and I know that I have a pretty young looking face so of course I'm okay with being carded since it'd be absurd not to but what I'm NOT okay with is feeling like I'm being interrogated every time I come in to buy something. I've never had anyone else take my ID, stare back and forth between it and me for almost 10 seconds and then have to either smile since that's what I'm doing in the picture on my card or answer a question about myself that only I would know on it (my address, birthday, etc.) in public with other customers in line behind me who can hear very personal information about myself being given out just so I can get an overpriced 12-pack of malt liquor. To say it's a humiliating experience is a HUGE understatement. I don't understand why I've been treated this way the last few times I've gone in because I'm always quiet, I keep to myself, I go in knowing what I want so I'm only spending a very brief amount of time in the store, I have my ID and debit card ready when I walk up to the counter to check out, I'm polite and I never cause problems of any kind PERIOD, and yet I'm treated as if I can't be trusted the very moment I come through the front door. Guess I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on.

The winery uses California grapes and other, locally-sourced fruits and traditional winemaking techniques to produce small-batch, handcrafted wines. They sell their wines through their website, at a couple local businesses, and at some farmers markets and festivals. I first encountered Mingo Creek Cellars several months ago when the owner, who is one of the very best review writers on Yelp, kindly gifted me a bottle of sangria. As he released more wines, I had to try more! In recent months, I purchased three other wines: Blushberry, sweet strawberry-apple; McFarlane's Blueberry Battalion, sweet blueberry and named after Major McFarlane who fought in the American Revolutionary War and the Whiskey Rebellion; and Blackpaw Treaty, a semi-sweet blackberry cabernet named after the secret agreement. I loved all of these wines!
