Sine Sine - Brazilian Sugaring…read more Prior my beach vacation in January 2016 I decided to try Brazilian sugaring. Of course I could not let anyone handle my delicate area. So I researched and came across Sine Sine to be one of the best studios in Vienna. Scheduling an appointment was easy at Sine Sine. I ran a little bit late and called the studio. The lady on the phone informed me that my appointment can be set on hold for 15 minutes. So I rushed as quick as possible. Arrived at the studio, the staff was nice and the rooms very hygienic. The benches have layers for one time use only. The depiladora uses gloves for the procedure and worked as gentle as possible. The first time hurts A LOT but totally worth it. Additionally as described by a former reviewer I can confirm after care is taken by removing ingrown hair or stubborn hair via forceps. Sine Sine staff is definitely trained to work precise and does its job flawlessly. As far as I remember the procedure took 30-45 minutes. They have a bonus card. After 10 sessions you get the 11th for free. Happy Sugaring! :)

The third time around I scheduled another filling and an eyebrow wax -- the wax looks fantastic but the fulling was an absolute disaster. It looks patchy and lumpy, but that's not the worst of it. In multiple places, the lady filed my nails so hard that she tore through the skin and I was literally bleeding in multiple places. I am so upset and my hands are still in pain.

But this is by far the worse quality with a rather run down image. I would like to add that my guess is, that it is most probably not the staff's fault, but the managements. Last time I was there, only 2 staff were there to manage everything at once, my favourite cosmetician has resigned recently. Maybe I can explain a few things to underline my opinion: - Hygiene is not taken as serious as it used to be. I have gotten problems after sugaring treatments (intimate area) which I haven't had before. I feel that treatment hygiene has become sloppy. Treatment is not as clean in work as it used to be. In the past, smaller hairs were taken out with a pinsetter. Not anymore, the result is not as clean and nice as I remember it in the past. - the last manicure was not good, the polish didn't dry properly because applied in a rush and too often. Same applies for the pedicure. Even the long lasting/shellac didn't look clean. - Generally staff doesn't seem to be professional or motivated in their work anymore. It seems as if they are understaffed an stressed. Phone calls are not answered in a professional way, the online booking system doesn't work anymore, the studio itself and the working clothes of the staff seem used and outdated. It just doesn't look convincing and needs a vamp up if you ask me - I will wait until my senzera card expires. I think I will try some other studios and see if the service is better. It is too bad as I am a Senzera customer since 2010.

I scheduled an appointment (recommended, as walk-ins often have to wait or come back the next day) for 12:30pm on a Tuesday. When I checked in, I was offered a complimentary cappuccino while sitting in the waiting area. Some techno remixes of American songs were playing, which was fun to listen to. Juliet was lovely and escorted me upstairs to the manicure table. They charged me €5 to remove my shellac manicure before beginning the treatment. The manicure process was efficient and I was happy with the color selection. I wish there had been a lotion treatment for my hands, but my nails were well-conditioned with oils. Be warned: this salon is cash only. I tried to present a credit card to pay, since there was a notice on the door indicating they accepted Visa and Mastercards, but my nail technician said it was cash only. There's a bank across the street, but I would have preferred to pay on a card since the services are a bit more expensive than the states (€39 for a shellac manicure, about $44 USD). Compared to other salons outside the city center, I much preferred the chic vibes here!
