Love my sunshine tattoo!
Jennifer R.

What a great experience! From communication and booking to getting the work done with Maciej, great experience! I would absolutely recommend! Second foot tattoo, and 2nd tattoo over all, and Maciej was so good at his profession. Hardly any discomfort. I'll definitely take the drive again.

got my very first tattoo here with Jun, and now I have five pieces done by him. Jun is absolutely phenomenal his work is incredibly detailed, and you can tell he truly cares about what he does. He always takes his time with each client and makes sure you're 100% happy with the result. I've always felt comfortable and taken care of here. I'll definitely be coming back soon. I highly recommend this place. I'm a very happy customer!!

I am SO happy with my tattoo from @stas_byron. He was so professional and the shop was very clean. Just make sure you arrive early because parking is tricky and you'll probably need to park in the public lot ($10 for the whole day). Couldn't be happier!!

Studio setup

Unprofessional and inexperienced artists. Artist was an hour late to our appointment and totally screwed up my tattoo. Promised a refund and never got it. Save yourself the money and the Lazer tattoo removal, and go somewhere else. $150 for this crap. Pretty sure I had Irina.

Definitely not Ona's best work. This side doesn't match underside, is sloppy, and bc she went too deep, there is scarring.

*No way to contact staff via phone *Staff is NOT at ALL friendly *Ona is EXTREMELY and unnecessarily heavy-handed, which resulted in raised scarring and prolonged healing time. I understand it was a coverup, but the inked areas she covered weren't much. The old tattoo was basically a bracelet of fine lines. There was a lot of skin that was "virgin", so there was no reason for her to dig as deep as she went, and I really didn't need her to keep telling me, "1 hour of pain is worth a lifetime of beauty, "...with a smile on her face as if she enjoyed administering the pain. *Ona also tried to overcharge me ($700) grossly. I still ended up paying $500 + 20% tip for ink that took about 1.5 hrs and was mediocre compared to the other work she has posted. * Bathroom access for clients is unacceptable. They give you a key with vague directions to exit the salon and enter into the dirty, abandoned business building next door, to guess your way, all the way to the back where the restroom is located. It is not clean. It is not safe. *No parking or any validation offered for the (not so cheap) neighboring lots. Ona was no friendlier when I returned for my complimentary touch-up. Which was supposed to have been scheduled months prior, but healing time was exceptionally slow for aforementioned reasons. I thought since it was a touchup it would be quick and relatively less painful than my first session, but knew it would hurt because it was my wrist, which is very petite. It was quick all right, because she rushed through it sloppily and It felt like she dug in even deeper. Although this time around, it seems to be healing quicker, it is definitely raised and looks like the scarring will be permanent. I am still kicking myself for going back to Ona for the touchup. I cannot in good conscience recommend Ona. She is a straight up sadist. Mantle needs to vet their artists more carefully. Hiring decisions should not be based solely on their work; it's equally important to consider how they interact with the public and clients, as this aspect is crucial to the job. Because of my experience with Ona, I will never step foot in this twilight-zonish tattoo parlour again.

Mantle has a couple of locations downtown. I went to one they just leased off of South Olive Street. The owner/artist was very communicable about setting up the appointment, which location to go to, and replied to my text messages in a timely manner. If you go to the studio off of Olive, there's a parking area across the street for $5. The studio can be hard to find (they didn't have a sign that you can see from the street). The artist I had was actually visiting from Seoul and they did an amazing job. He didn't speak much English, but his work speaks for itself. It did 1.5 hours to redo the design I wanted (we went back n forth) and to set up, which kind of sucked because my tattoo took 4 hours so it was 6.5 hours total there. The artist was nice and they had a nice setup to take a photo of your tattoo afterwards. The cost wasn't costing me an arm and a leg either. It was $1,300 for the realism tattoo on my arm. I absolutely love it, especially the galaxy. I would recommend him 10/10.

Irina was super nice and did a great job. The communication with whoever I was messaging at first was great. Whoever greeted us at the door had an awful attitude and if it was her who was supposed to be our artist that day I would have left. Everything else was good.

Ona did my tattoo and is so beautiful! She put her own designs of what I wanted and I can't tell you how greatful I am to ona for bringing my chiari tattoo to like.

Don't be sketched out by the lack of information about the studio, extremely fast response times, and suspiciously good reviews--this place is not a scam! On Thursday afternoon, during a visit to LA, I was feeling a bit bored, and so naturally the best thing to do was to book a last minute tattoo appointment. I've been on a mission to fill any empty spaces on my right arm, so I went with the most original design--a butterfly. I searched around for any parlors that accepted walk-ins or had quick appointments, as I would be leaving on Monday. After a Google search, I found Mantle Tattoo and liked the work that I saw on Instagram from them. The staff at Mantle Tattoo booked me for Saturday evening right away. That's how quick they are! My tattoo artist, Minji, or tattooist_ch on instagram, was very kind and accommodating. She sketched out the tattoo with me, taking note of all my requests, and within 10 minutes we were ready to go! The actual tattoo process itself was smooth and virtually painless. Minji has a very gentle hand so I barely felt it when she was tattooing me. It was cool to watch her process and see how she made it all come together. I'm very happy with the end result that I got! Additionally, I asked Minji if she could touch up some of the lines on my jellyfish tattoo (done by another artist who is not local) and she was more than happy to accommodate my request. Mantle Tattoo is a great place to go whether you need a quick fix for your tattoo addiction like I do or want to get your first tattoo. I highly recommend this studio for getting a quick and awesome tattoo.

This piece was a cover up

This place was wonderful! Super clean with great vibes nice and helpful staff. My tattoo artist, Jun Kr, took the art my sister made and made it come to life. The tattoo was quick and the lines were balanced and perfectly placed. I highly recommend!!

Tracy at the front desk was super helpful with check in and my questions about jewelry and what not. My one feedback and note would be to mention that visitors do have the option to "try-on" jewelry if they are torn between sizes or colors of jewelry because I think some newcomers wouldn't be aware they could do that if it's not mentioned. My friend asked to try a couple of jewel sizes and that was really helpful with decision making. (By try-on, you are just holding the jewelry piece up to yourself and checking yourself out in the mirror :P ) They offer titanium and gold jewelry here. Many beautiful pieces. They also sell saline spray (for $15 if I remember correctly) which I picked up since I was traveling and will be traveling again. Lacy pierced me and she was soooo amazing! She was really through with her explanations and I felt very comfortable with her. Everything went so smoothly and it was mostly painless - only a pinch in the process but no discomfort after the jewelry was already in. My friends and I left with super cute nostril piercings! Highly recommend this studio. Very grateful and happy with the experience here.

"Regarding your wait time, management confirmed it was significantly shorter than stated" - attached are photos at 6:20pm on 4/11/26 aka the time i went in & upon arrival i asked to use the restroom, i took a selfie amongst other pics & the date & time can be found on each one. When leaving, i was asked for my information & to enroll in ur $5 off coupon which was at 8:16pm on 4/11/26. almost exactly two hours, not sure which manager looked into that but i did not randomly chose that number. Consultation - Tabitha asked via phone if i was given the option or made aware of threadless vs threaded jewelry, i was not nor was I given the option between the two. (Im assuming since you guys only carry threadless anyways.) Lacy said the piercings could get expensive when downsizing multiple sizes & when custom jewelry becomes a thing (she gave me an example of hers that have a wide flat back) which i understood. I was never told the jewelry on hand would be so flimsy or else i would have left with a spare set. or why wouldnt that be offered if its a known thing that theyre just going to break soon after? "our management team has reached out multiple times" - Tabitha called me on 4/20/26 at 2:03pm post yelp review & asking me to elaborate which i did. she apologized & said she would investigate & immediately followed up asking if i could "take down the yelp review" I initially agreed but im so glad i didnt. All that was asked of me was to pick a date & time & she will have someone replace the jewelry that broke at the el monte location but she would have to call me back & let me know if there was someone at that location who COULD do it & that she would call back. when she called back at 2:38pm 4/20/26 she stated ordering a threaded set would take 6-8 weeks & that she will order my downsize. we agreed on that solution & hungup. Then 4/28/26 Tabitha texts me & there was no solution so we could agree on so thanked her & left it at that (screenshots attached as well) "waived fees" - crazy cause you guys swear this is something special. when i get my nails done & one breaks theyre quick to fix it FOR FREE & not keep reminding me that breakage could happen nor badgering me that IM at fault for it/knew the risks. Theres no fee to waive if i want to put the jewelry in my own face for free which you guys denied me of because u didnt want to mail them to me. "we offered appointments at our other locations with free parking lots" - text attached of Tabithas convo but she definitely stated STREET parking, exactly how the LA location is so.. not sure where the "Convenience & Options" were. sorry it came to this Leo, maybe ask both sides next time instead of just listening to one.

I had to wait a year to get my appointment because of how talented Bryan Ramirez is. I walked in, very hyped up, with a tiny 3x4 old ID picture of my father. Bryan treated the image on his computer, expanded it, and kept in touch throughout the process. After a few visits, he carefully listened to my project vision, embraced it, and, most importantly, provided real feedback about size, positioning, and expectations. I have a few other tattoos from multiple artists, and I can confidently say the level of service and quality here is top notch. The previous artists weren't even close to this level of skill. The day I showed up for my session, I felt heard and taken care of. Bryan paused whenever I communicated that I needed a break, and the project was finished in a few hours. His attention to detail is incomparable. If you're searching for an experienced, skilled, detail-oriented tattoo artist, look no further. Contact Reservoir Tattoo Studio and speak with Bryan Ramirez, though I'm sure any artist linked to this studio is just as talented and professional. Can't wait to return for a future session. He wanted double bands around his forearm and Sam was able to sketch it out and do the tattoo on the same day. We were in and out within 1.5 hours. He explained the process and aftercare which made getting a tattoo seamless and less daunting. I was on the fence about getting a tattoo but my friend said if he got one I would have to get one too. I decided to get a runner with an ekg as I thought it was fitting for me. I wanted something small for my first tattoo and easily to keep hidden from my mom (sorry mom). He asked me to send him a picture of what I wanted and scheduled an appointment for Monday at 11am. Once Monday came I walked over and signed the consent form. He then printed out the tattoo and placed the outline on my chest and asked me if it was where I wanted it. Being a tattoo noob I trusted his judgement. After letting the outline dry I laid down and he began working on the piece. He said since it was a small tattoo and mainly lines there shouldn't be much pain and the healing process wouldn't be as long. It took about 30 mins to finish up the tattoo and the quality came out amazing. There was no pain at all and he went over the aftercare as well. I showed Sam this other tattoo I wanted and he said he would be able to do that as well. He says his art style is realism and anime so I can't wait to get more work done by him. He has been tattooing for 2 years now along with his apprenticeship. He told me to message him when I'm ready for my next piece. Maybe this tattoo thing is an addiction and will keep you coming back for more.
