His advice is realistic for our needs no matter what outlandish or practical questions I might have. Trusts, wills, living wills, medical directives, real estate matters and personal advice on family decisions have all been handled professionally and more importantly on an ethical and caring basis. I am further grounded in my confidence in him by chats we have when by coincidence we meet coming out of daily mass. I am saddened when I read a review that is critical of his ethics or his personal reputation. I must believe that there is another side to the story. Yelp is not a court of law. I presume Robert innocent of any accusations. I cannot believe anything but the highest quality conduct by him and his office. Executing a client's directives may not be savory in all cases. But there is limit to providing services. Sincerely, Michael W. Allgaier

In the times when I was allowing emotion to take over he stepped in to bring logic and my life (long term) back into focus. He knew the law better than anyone and ultimately that is what prevailed in my divorce case. Knowing the law and what to reasonably expect was critical for me in making important decisions. Stephen brought that to the table and got the best possible outcome for me and my daughter. We will be forever grateful for his extremely valuable expertise.

I used this firm for a divorce. However, I believe my comments are applicable to any plantiff's…read moreside case. 1) Case Management Ability: This firm failed to file for a motion for default judgment by SIX WEEKS. That's right -- not ONE, not TWO, not THREE, not FOUR, not FIVE, but SIX WEEKS. I could have gotten a default judgment. My understanding, although not a NJ lawyer, is that this case management failure is malpractice. Damages are obviously another issue, but a cut and dry case of malpractice nonetheless. 2) Fees: They quoted $1,500, took that amount as a retainer, and charged me another $1900 on top of that. The additional fee might be warranted for competent legal counsel, however please see points 1 and 3. 3) Client communication: They did not communicate that they would be billing me an additional amount. When I asked them a fairly simple question about whether I needed a form, they responded with "I don't know" and billed me $50 for the pleasure of having them read that email, $50 for them to research that answer of pure legal genius, and $50 for responding to my email. It was a question that they should have known. 4) Firing them: When I tried to tell them I didn't want them to represent me, they continued to contact me and bill me, again for this distinct pleasure. My husband's lawyer (Corinne M. DeStefano) did a much better job in a much more timely manner for a much better rate.

Adam Wallwork is an excellent lawyer with law degrees Adam is an EXCELLENT lawyer from the…read moreUniversity of Chicago (Juris Doctor with Honors) and NYU School of Law (Master of Laws in Taxation). Mr. Wallwork's rates are affordable and his tax and litigation strategies have helped me and my family to save thousands of dollars in the past month alone. I hired Mr. Wallwork two days AFTER the New Jersey Superior Court had entered judgment against me and ordered me to pay years of back rent due under a bogus contract I'd canceled long ago. I thought I'd lost the case and so did Experian. My credit score, which has always been very good, was seriously impacted by the judgment against me since I could hardly afford to pay it. Within two weeks, Mr. Wallwork reversed the outcome: he got the New Jersey judge to rescind his order and dismiss the case against me. I didn't even know that was possible! In the end, I paid none of the company's bogus rental charges and the court's earlier judgment was removed from court records and my credit report after Mr. Wallwork sent letters on my behalf to Experian, Equifax, and Transunion free of charge. I was so impressed with Mr. Wallwork's handling of the contract litigation, his responsiveness, and his tenacity, that I hired him the same month to handle various other tax and business matters. Mr. Wallwork's tax advice has, if anything, proved more valuable than his successful litigation of my contract case because his work reorganizing my finance will likely generate tax savings of $2,000 EACH YEAR. On my advice, my mother also hired Mr. Wallwork for legal matters relating to her taxes, estate, and rental business. In just three week, Mr. Wallwork has rewritten lease contracts for my mother's tenants in New Jersey and Virginia, and helped to secure delinquent. Although I realize this review is very long, it is hardly enough to express my appreciation for Mr. Wallwork's outstanding work. For people like me and my mother, who aren't wealth, world-class legal representation is hard to come by and something should be said about Mr. Wallwork of Sills Cummis & Gross who has given us the benefit of world-class, affordable legal representation right here in Newark.
