It's a bummer when you have to use an employment agency to find work. The pay is substandard, work is usually temporary or "temp to hire" (read: "temporary"), and either part-time or short-term. Employers don't want to pay benefits anymore, if they can help it. Also, they don't want to get stuck with disruptive / deadbeat employees that are difficult and expensive to get rid of. I moved across the country, and have since applied for scores of jobs for which I'm well qualified. I have a great resume and lots of experience, but get passed over as soon as the potential employer finds out I'm in a certain demographic. Maybe that's illegal, but it's also very tough to prove. Manpower did find me something, which is better than nothing. The job is mediocre at best. Still, I like the people there and they treat me decently. The Manpower staff also treats me decently. So, it's not ideal, but it's a stopgap for now and I'm grateful for it. Manpower is as good as any of the employment agencies, in my opinion. When expected assignments fall through, it might be because the company offering the job changes direction without a heads up for the agency. Stinks, but the hiring company holds all the cards. I would give them less than one star if possible, horrible customer relations. Went here to work at Perrigo, jumped through all of their hoops and never heard anything back, until today when I received a call notifying me my account is being terminated. DO NOT GO HERE!! read more

Jumped through all the hoops necessary and got placed at perrigo. Then they ended my assignment over one absence and someone claimed I was taking too long of breaks when I'm a breastfeeding mother and legally they have to give me those pump breaks. Manpower was very rude about all of it and refused to even hear my side. Definitely don't go to allegan manpower it's not even worth your time, especially if your a breastfeeding mother. read more
