We used Manorcrest when we were boarding our small dog last year when we moved to the NYC / NJ area. The rates were fair, and the facilities were clean and well organized. I was a little hesitant to leave Jasper (our dog) there for almost 2 weeks while we looked for an apartment in the area, but he was just fine. Bascially Manorcrest is a bunch of kennels at a house with a big yard. They let the dogs out several times a day for supervised play. At night they have their own kennels that they get put back into. (which is good - my dog would otherwise play until he passes out haha) They will also feed your dog your food, per your instructions. You can bring their own beds or toys to leave with them as well. The kennel was totally open to us stopping by to check in on Jasper, which we did a few times during the 2 weeks. Every time we came by he was super relaxed, happy and quite tired from playing all day with other dogs. When it was finally time to leave, Jasper was a bit dirty (from playing with dogs for 2 weeks haha), but was happy. He would even go to the owner/supervisor when they called, which he only does for people he really likes. Since then, we've used other kennels to board our dog for a few days here and there, as we're now in queens and it's a bit of a trek to Jersey.... but for big trips we definitely will be using Manorcrest again in the future. My dog came home with massive "pressure sores" on his legs after staying a few days here. It looked like giant tennis balls growing from his legs. They make dogs sleep on concrete. read more

We have used Manor Crest kennels for over 10 years. The owners, Betty and Javier are wonderful and their love for and kindness with our dogs has been evident through the years. While it's not the fanciest or state of the art regarding 24/7 video, I know it's great because my dogs bounce out of the car when we arrive and don't look back! We usually opt for a last day bath and grooming as the dogs play outside every day hole they are there. read more

We used to board our dogs here quite a few years back, but stopped after our dogs kept getting bad cases of diarrhea there. Figured we try them again after 6 or 7 years...same thing with entirely different dogs. I don't know if its a cleanliness issue or if they are exposing the dogs to something rotten or toxic, but we will not be going here again. Three large dogs with explosive diarrhea. Have been boarding my dog here for about 5 years without any problems; my review is based largely on Mousse's reactions when she gets to go to "camp". Mousse is a 7 year old chocolate lab, my 75 lb. puppy - high energy; a sweet goofball. She is already giddy when she sees me packing her bag and starts to "sing" when I turn onto Paramus Rd. When Javier opens the gate, she runs to him. It is a basic facility- no rooms with mini couch and TV, but she doesn't have that at home either. It is very clean and is well run by Betty and Javier, who clearly love and care for their charges. The fees are reasonable - right down to the exit bath. Mousse comes here 3-4 times a year, anywhere from a weekend to 2 weeks, and though I always miss her, I never worry about her when she's at Manorcrest. It seems that YELP has chosen to put my review in the "not currently recommended" which is really bogus. i do actually board Mousse here. It is a good, safe place to board your pet. Maybe I got dumped because I dared to write: I will add that I find it odd that YELP has chosen not to include 3 positive, recent reviews. Shame on Yelp! read more

We have been using Manorcrest for about 10 years,and can't say enough good things about it. Javier and Betty have always been nothing but accomodating,professional and courteous. My dogs leap out of the car as soon a they see the fence, and are usually exhausted for playing all the time when we return. Best boarding place in the area by far,and the prices can't be beat. I took my dog here for grooming. When I picked her up the groomer warned me not to let my dog in the river because she had a rash. I took my dog to my mom who is a nurse to help me look at her an what we discovered was not a rash but a HUGE cut. She clipped her very deep and tried to cover herself by lying that the dog had a rash. At least if she would have told me I could have made sure the cut was treated, instead she lied to protect herself. You can see around the area she was cut that she was shaved so close she was nearly bald. I understand that sometimes it happens (although I really don't ever expect it to be as deep as it was- friends and family, all dog owners, were shocked at how deep it was) but at least be honest about it so I can care for the dog. The groomer was very nice to me...but I guess now I know why. Very dissatisfied with the grooming - will NEVER be going there again. Anyway thank God I found it so I could care for the wound no thanks to the groomer! read more

We leave our dog here a couple times a year anywhere from 3-8 days and never had an issue. She has never come home with any illness or problem. Staff couldn't be more accommodating, very reasonable rates. I highly recommend them. read more

Betty, in response to your comment that it took me 5 years to write my review. I'd like to clarify a few things. First of all it was 3 years not 5 to leave me review as I just joined yelp this year. Also there were no other employees at the time it was just you and your husband. It was your husband who did the horrible nail trimming on our dogs. Also why does it take you 3 years to change locks that you know harmed my dog? How could you get antibiotics from your vet to distribute without knowing each animals allergies? ZuZu is my Granddog and was recommended by a friend to go to Betty for a grooming since my daughter , from CT, had a TERRIBLE experience with a groomer who had NO experience clipping an Airedale! Betty made me feel so comfortable ,telling me what she will be doing to give ZuZu that fabulous Show Dog look!! When I picked her up , I thought she belonged in the Westminster Dog Show! It is 5 years now that my daughter comes from CT for ZuZu's cuts AND has been boarded there as well ! When I bring her , she pulls me with such excitement to the gate and knows Javier will be taking her inside! And the prices are great ! I've used them a few times with my large dog. It's not a fancy place. No cameras to peek at your dog, no huge indoor area, etc. It seems very clean. The dogs run around in the yard. My dog loves it. read more
