We discovered that we had a hole in our roof and that this caused some of the roof boarding to deteriorate. I got three estimates and Matt's was the middle one (not by much, but as the other guy was a general, I preferred to go with a trained roofer). Matt fixed the hole in the roof as well as the chimney area and then did a few other "honey do" items around the house, including a trip to the hardware store. Even though we had agreed to a flat fee on the roof and he spent a half day doing other plumbing and electrical fixes, he did not charge anything more. What a gem!

It started leaking 9 days short of a year! He also left all the refuse here for over two weeks before he came back here to get it and take it away. There were huge plastic bags of old shingles in my driveway and roofing nails everywhere! He has not responded to my calls or e-mails. I wasted $1,800 on this guy. His MD MHIC license is not even valid as of January 9, 2014. A call to MD DLLR revealed that his license has expired, although he did have a valid one at the time of the "repairs" he did to my roof. I have filed a complaint against him with MD DLLR. I also found out he doesn't have a D.C. license either. He does not come up on a search of their databases. This company is bad news. I do not recommend him for anything.

Terry is friendly and knowledgeable and although my house is over a 100 years old, he has always known how to perform a project I've given him. He has replaced an old door, installed storm doors, resealed our porch roof, installed a new rubber roof, fixed multiple leaks in the roof, enclosed our back porch into a mudroom (including installing new vinyl windows), installed a fence in the yard, some minor landscaping, replaced cracked plaster ceilings with all new drywall ceilings in 3 rooms, a lot of painting work, and fixed 2 electrical outlets by running new wire. I might be missing some things, but he's practically given our house an overhaul. I've even been able to call Terry and asked for advice for some things around the house I could do myself. I honestly can't say how his rates compare with other handymen, because after the first couple jobs, I felt comfortable enough to go to Terry for any work in the house.

We were extremely disappointed with the quality of the work. The flooring was cut inside our home, leaving sawdust throughout the house, and after the installation we identified numerous workmanship and finishing issues. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience has been frustrating and will likely cost us additional money to have the flooring properly repaired. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this company. I'm sharing this review in hopes that it helps other homeowners make an informed decision before hiring someone for a flooring project.
