We had a very disappointing experience with Choice Auction Gallery…read more After my girlfriend's father passed away, we entrusted them with the contents of an entire home that included many high-end items. We were told she would receive 50% of the proceeds, but the final payout was shockingly low -- nowhere near what was expected or what we believe the items were worth. There was very little transparency throughout the process. We were not provided with a clear, detailed accounting of what items sold for, and communication was limited when we tried to get answers. Given the quality and volume of the items, the outcome simply does not make sense to us. This was a difficult time for our family, and we relied on this company to handle things honestly and professionally. Instead, the experience left us feeling taken advantage of. I would strongly recommend that anyone considering using this company get everything in writing, demand full documentation of all sales, and consider obtaining independent appraisals before proceeding.

DO NOT USE RENNICK AUCTIONS, RENNICK ART & ANTIQUES, OR RON RENNICK!…read moreI contacted Mr. Rennick on Thursday, June 12, to bid on a 1956 T-Bird on June 14. This was as a result of a postcard sent by Rennick. I told him that I wanted to place an absentee phone bid on this car, and told him I could give my Visa Card for any deposit he required. A friend of mine actually works for him, and I have known Mr. Rennick for about 12 years. As a result of this relationship, he said he or his sons, or an employee, would contact me from the auction (owners property), at about 10:30 am Florida time. I gave him my cell phone number, and his manager, my Visa information. Mr. Rennick also contacted the owner of the car, who called me & sent me photos of the car. I told the owner, as I told Mr. Rennick, I would be bidding on the car. I held my cell phone in my hand from 9 am-2 pm, Florida time, waiting for the call from Mr. Rennick to bid. It never came. I called the auciton house, and told them Mr. Rennick was going to call me to bid, and see why he hadn't. At 4:30 pm, Mr. Rennick called me. He suddenly "apparently had a memory lapse", as he said he didn't remember that he was going to call me to bid, "did I send in a cashiers check or bank letter?"! I told him no, repeating that 2 days earlier, he agreed to take my Visa number & call me! He said "well, my memory isn't as good as it used to be"! I told him that I had a large real estate brokerage firm for many years, that I never forgot to contact someone who was interested in buying a property...that this I'm sure he knows how to run an auction business. I asked him how much the car sold for-he said he "thought" $24,000..."thought"-this was despite the fact that the sale was 4 hours earlier, and he only had about 6 cars to sell, this being the most valuable. I told him I was going to bid to $35,000-that I had done my due dilligence on the cars value, especially having gotten all the information I needed from his seller. I told him he didn't represent the clients, on this sale-he cost them about $10,000 more-which I would have gladly paid! Mr. Rennick is in a very wealthy town, filled with elderly people, who many times either don't know the value of the real estate, or personal property, or their heirs fly in, rely on information that I don't believe is given. This is only my opinion. I strongly suggest sellers use due caution-perhaps having a good & fair reserve-which this car didn't have, nor were the sellers (or I)-represented fairly!

BEWARE OF THIS AUCTION HOUSE! In August, 2017, we took a van…read moreload of items to Palm City Auction, to be included in their next auction. We were told that the they were going on vacation, and that our things would be stored in the corner of their 'warehouse' until the next auction. I was surprised at a comment made at the time and after only looking in one box while being unloaded. 'I'm only taking this stuff because I want the good stuff later.' Well, the stuff to which he was referring were wonderful smalls, having closed down two booths in an antique mall soon before. I have been in the antique business many years, having had several shops and going to the U.K to fill containers and to search for the unusual. Granted, the things left with them, were not your usual 'high-end', but nice none-the-less. To make a long story, short. We got a call from the auction house the next day after the auction, telling us that the antique, cane bottom, ladder back chairs did not sell. I then told the office person who called, that we would pick them up the same week. We drove over an hour to do that, to find that they only had five of the six chairs. The story that we got, was that the thrift store had picked up the missing chair. We drove to the thrift store to reclaim the chair, only to be told, that no such thing had happened! While sitting in the parking lot of the thrift store, we call the auction house and told them of this. The lady answering the phone, was extremely rude, saying 'Well, they didn't sell, so they couldn't have been worth much, then promptly hung up on my husband.' We then drove back to the auction house to hunt for the chair, which was not there. But what was there, were some of the items we had left for the auction, sitting in the back room....? They never made it to auction. Upon receiving the listing of things 'sold' there were two box lots, one for $10.00, one for $8.00. I have been around antiques all of my life. I know the value of things, as well as the cyclical values that have taken place over time. I am an honest person, thus this soon become an ethical issue for me rather than financial. There is more to the story, but suffice it to say, we should have heeded the warning others had given us about this Auction House. I tend to be a trusting person, but this particular situation reminded me, that not all people in this world are trustworthy! Please know that what I have just written is true and factual!

We came off the auction zip website listing looking to get a few antique pieces for our 1930s home. It's a little out of the way in St Cloud but our GPS found it no problem. Ample parking we arrived about 30 min early to preview everything. Took notice of a food truck upon pulling in for there patrons, standard faire of burgers, fries and the like. The building itself is a large warehouse and it is air conditioned just be sure you close the door all the way when entering. The place was packed to the rafters with stuff. There is a large area in the middle with what looked like most of the items from the ad. And a huge assortment completely following the perimeter. We went to the back to sign up and get our number. Only needed to fill out a quick registration card. There was a lot of nice stuff by the back office going towards the wall but we're told it's just the items from the middle of the building to the front were to be auctioned so this was a little confusing. Armed with our number we sought out the items we came for and found the near the front, an antique jelly cupboard, mission desk and another office glassed in case/cupboard. Had a hard time getting to the desk as everything as so tightly packed in but fell in love with the cupboard. Took a couple seats on the aisle and waited for the auction to start. By 7pm I would say it was about seventy five percent full, not overcrowded but full. Standard auction start with the rules and everything, 10 percent buyers premium. Auction started and the auctioneer is quite high so he can see everyone easily, had a lot of staff helping and they move quite quickly which was a relief with as much as they were auctioning off. Seemed to run quite smooth. Out first item came up the office case and it went up to $50 before I joined in the bidding but bowed out at a $100 as I didn't love it as much as the jelly cupboard. The desk followed and I noticed a couple who really wanted it, we bid against each other to $100 and I stopped in part because I didn't get a great look at it, and in part because the wife really wanted it. Finally the jelly cupboard came up and we snagged it for only $80 which was a steal, and I was ready to go to the mattresses for it. Since that's all we came for we proceeded to the back and paid the cashier, and asked if we could come back another day to pick it up. She told us Saturday 9-12, or Monday 9-5 or Tuesday 9-5. Absolutely must be picked up by Tuesday or it would be forfeit and auctioned off the following week. Which is pretty normal. We came back today, Tuesday and picked it up no problem and it now sits proudly in my house, and I will enjoy it for years to come Great overall auction experience, however if anything could be offered for criticism it would be to declutter the warehouse so it's clear what's going to be for sale and make everything easily accessible for the preview. Thanks again
