MANNINGS i love you!!! I haven't been to the farm itself since I was a kid and it was such a great visit. I tend to forget that it's cash only, but there's plenty of signs up to remind you and send you in the right direction to find an ATM. An ATM on sight would be lovely, but hey it's Dalton, PA. The crew behind the counter is great, super friendly and patient when getting samples, even if there's a bit of a line. Charlie Brownie always going to be a homerun for me. Tons of seating outside and all the tables looked clean, but mostly importantly, the cows. It's so fun getting to interact with them and wander around the property. read more

Fun spot for locally made ice cream from local dairy! We were in town visiting friends and were especially looking for a Pennsylvania regional flavor "teaberry" which is a pink mint flavor. We called ahead to ask if they had it, happily it was available for scoops or take out! This is a family favorite going back generations! We went for a walk at nearby Nay Aug Park and had earned a cool scoop of ice cream on a hot summer afternoon! The inside was spacious and so many flavors, rectangular gallon containers of so many varieties the length of the store! We got three flavors - teaberry, barnyard gravy, and mocha, all delicious! Lots of cone types too - sugar, cake, waffle, pretzel, and dipped cones, we had one person try the waffle cone, tasty! They had an interesting series of photos and articles along the wall describing how they raise and feed the cows, perfecting the milk production, and how they prepare the ice cream. There was a news article from 2020 local newspaper with background on the family too. Lots to read while enjoying our cones. They had so many flavors! Around 45-50 flavors? My only quibble is that they didn't have any low carb or low sugar flavors. I got a small cone, but would have gotten more if there were sugar alternatives like eurithritol or monk fruit sweeteners. We came here for part of the 2019 Eastern PA ice cream trail. Terrific ice cream: I had "Lafayette" with coconut, berries and pound cake chunks in vanilla while my kid had butterbeer (vanilla/butterscotch swirl). Both were delicious. Staff were super friendly and quick to offer samples. The surrounding area is gorgeous, although the seating area is not the most glamorous--I'll confess that I prefer indoor seating, especially when it's hot. Seating area here is outside and combines fresh cow scent with the port-o-potties that are near the benches. But hey, hike back to your car and enjoy your ice cream or take it to go! Definitely worth a stop. read more

Chances are, if you grew up in, or even visited NEPA (Northeastern PA), you've tasted Manning's. They're THE go to for cool creamy treats in the area. This particular location is next to the actual factories that supply all of the Manning's in the region which makes a trip here that much cooler. While I personally can't get behind it, I can appreciate the small town pride and history behind the business. They offer DOZENS of flavors. One for every tasty bud and mood with quirky names such a Snoopy, Charlie Brown and Barnyard Gravy. They varieties range from old time classics to uber creative ones. Hubs favorite over the years has always been their cookie dough which is PACKED with dough, more than I've ever seen. This location has picnic tables out front and is cash only. The fam went with a kid's scoop which was the perfect amount for the Little's or calorie watchers. Prices are very reasonable. read more

We visited here on our trip to Scranton, Pennsylvania. And Oh. My. Goodness. This place is absolutely amazing!! This is an ice cream store attached to the actual factory where they make the ice cream from the milk harvested from their very own collection of cows. it is an intimate, authentic experience with ice cream. After I tried a few samples I told the people behind us that I was disappointed to discover there is not a Braums in Pennsylvania, but now I do not feel disappointed any more. Overhearing my comment, the manager came out to greet us and tell us a little bit about her establishment. I was so impressed, I honestly can say I've never had better ice cream anywhere else, ever. There's no way to describe it. It was so rich, creamy, fresh, I could tell that it had been made from milk that was in a cow very shortly before it added up in my mouth. Each of the people in our party tried each other's ice cream and there was not a mediocre flavor in the bunch. Altogether I was able to taste butter pecan, strawberry, chocolate peanut butter, salted caramel, chocolate marshmallow, and raspberry. It was heaven in a scoop. If this stuff was available online I would buy it by the gallon and go broke, losing my house and living in a box under the bridge with nothing but my ice cream to keep me company, and I would be the happiest person in the world. read more

Freshest ice cream.... ever. They even have the cows in the back to prove it. They literally serve ICE. CREAM. Because it's gotta be the creamiest I've ever had. Aside from the many flavors, there are also many options such as cups, 3 different cones and sundae options. The only drawback is the smell of the cattle but that can be remedied by walking across the street and sitting down on the picnic tables on the field. read more

Manning Farm Dairy is a childhood treat that remains one of my favorites. The farm is in the heart of Pennsylvania country, and it's a wonderful experience to go and take it all in: The silos, the cows, the rolling pastures, and of course...the decadent, rich, fresh ice cream! There is always a line no matter what time of year. All ages of people gather around the case to study the buffet of flavors. Excited kids on their tip toes trying to see into the glass cooler. The scoops are generous, so bring your appetite. We tried the chocolate marshmallow, banana, and peanut butter cup, and all 3 were sinfully delicious. Manning's is a must-do if you're in the area. They also have fresh milk in glass bottles, sundaes, and shakes. I'll surely go back when I'm in the area for another heavenly ice cream experience. read more

Fantastic ice cream that is creamy and not crystallized. And the sizes are very generous. There are a wide variety of flavors to choose from and an assortment of cones to put them up. Needed an ice cream fix so we stopped by Mannings Dairy Farm. Lots a great flavors. I had Vanilla Peanut Butter cup and Praline Carmel in a single scoop cup(2.70) my partner in crime who loves small cones had a baby Chocolate for .70. Total with tax was 3.52!!! They only take cash and don't have a bathroom but still worth the stop. Follow the signs off of exit 201 on the turnpike. read more

We had Manning ice cream cake for our wedding and it was awesome! We had a summer wedding in upstate New York, so it was a great treat at the end of our dinner and perfect for the heat. I highly recommend Manning's for just "regular" ice cream too as their ice creams are exceptional in general. The ice cream is very good and there are many flavored,to choose from. There are also delicious cones and sundaes to pick from. They do not take credit cards. Here is one piece of advice you should know before taking the drive out to the farm....they have NO public restrooms. If you ask to use a restroom you will be turned away. This is quite a nuisance for many of their patrons especially ones with small children who can't hold it. So, if you plan on going to Mannings, go to the restroom before you leave to go there. read more

Doesn't get better than this :) Amazing ice cream in beautiful rural PA. When I try to explain to friends from outside the area what kind of place NEPA is, Mannings is by far one of the best "pros" to explain to them. Having an ice cream here in the summer is a great experience, one of the few timeless American things that hasn't changed since I was a child! You have to experience it at least once in your life, if you're coming through this way. And no, the other stores can't compare to the farm (though their products are of the same caliber, so I can't knock that) read more

First time coming here. I loved it. The workers were friendly, and the ice cream was so good.. The one thing I had a problem with was there were no tables inside! But there was a few outside, which was better than nothing. I got to see around the beautiful farm, and also got to the cows getting milked. I love Mannings, yet another reason I can't leave NEPA. I love to drag out- of towners to the farm, where they can get the full dairy ice cream experience. Caramel Critter...the best ice cream ever.
