I went there for a refill of anti anxiety medication that I have been on for years and for birth control medication. I recently moved to the area and do not have insurance because the financial limits are lower in GA than my previous state. I paid out of pocket for a first time visit fee (plus a credit card % charge) and was alright with it because I expected to walk away with some refills to last me the rest of the year. She gave me one month of my anti anxiety prescription and refused to give me birth control without a pap smear. Another $90 plus potentially hundreds in lab fees just for a piece of paper...I explained to her that I would have insurance in January of 2016 when my partner did his new enrollment and I would do a pap then but she didn't care. She actually said "no pap, no pills." I made another appointment so I could get more of my prescription and said I would get back to her about the pap. I called and asked if they could combine the pap appointment and the refill appointment (how hard is it to ask me how the prescription is going while I am there for the pap and write me a refill...why do I need to come twice and spend 2x as much money?). They said they would do it for $200. I called Planned Parenthood and they said they would do the pap, labs, and prescribe the meds for about $75. I called Dr. Holloway's office back to cancel the pap appointment and asked how much it would be for just the refill appointment and they said $75. Wait...75+90=165...so they were going to charge me 35 extra dollars to combine appointments even though I was saving both of us time and leaving the second slot open for another patient and more money for her. I ended up going to Planned Parenthood and they didn't even do the pap because they said at my age it is only necessary every 3 years if everything is normal. I got a year's worth of birth control medication for about $60 without an unnecessary invasive test and I was treated warmly and with respect. Dr. Holloway did not work with me at all and only cared about money. I believe she was taking advantage of me because she knew I didn't have insurance and wanted more money. I split my anti anxiety meds in half just to make it through the year so I did not have to go back to her. My sister saw her too for a different reason and was also treated poorly. Find a different doctor!

I have never found the staff, administrative or nursing, to be anything but professional and caring. As for Dr. Miller, he and I weren't on the same page or even in the same book to begin with! I know that some patients feel that the only approach he recommends is to lose weight and try Tai Chi and the truth is that exercise is essential when treating chronic pain and maintaining a healthy weight is recommended for all patients! With that said; once I stopped being defensive, argumentative even, I realized that Dr. Miller actually does show up for me and that he truly does care and is quick and willing to explore a variety of treatment methods, if I express my symptoms clearly, and in detail. He simply expects me to show up, for myself, as much as he is willing to do and that seems more than reasonable to me.

This week he wanted to see my eldest son to f/u & swab him for strep. HORRIBLE experience with this doctor. He wouldn't do the swab. Seemed like he couldn't be bothered. I probably should've prefaced this with the fact that I worked as a CMA at Wellstar ENT for many years and I have never met a doctor who was that incompetent. My son is nine years old. He gets swabbed all the time. Urgent care and his pediatric office do this often. Dr. Harper had two openings to get the swab to the back of the throat and do a figure 8 (just basic swab) and seemed flustered so didn't do it. He just couldn't be bothered. I offered to do it myself and he brushed me off. (l've swabbed him at other offices). He also yelled at my 4 year old child. I thought he SEEMED nice but l've worked with many doctors throughout the years and Dr. Harper seems young and arrogant. I would not let him treat my child or family member. So BEWARE, he's very charming but obviously ill equipped. The director called me after the "incident" to apologize or appoint us with another doctor but didn't seem too sincere. Would NOT recommend this office. I recommend going elsewhere.
