We had our whole family with us including a 10-year-old who had never caught a fish before. Captain DD made it his mission to change that and he absolutely did. He was patient, encouraging and completely dialed in. By the end of the trip our son had an unforgettable first fishing experience and was hooked. What stood out most was how intentional DD was with each of us. My husband, our adult disabled daughter, our ten year old and our oldest adult son and I all had different expectations and he worked hard to make sure every single person got what they wanted out of the trip. He is warm, personable and clearly an expert. You can tell he knows exactly what he's doing and takes real pride in delivering a great experience. We were initially unsure if four hours would feel long but the time flew by. Our only regret is not booking a full day, haha. And it didn't even end when we got back to the dock. Captain DD took pictures of us with all our fish cleaned all fish while we watched pelicans line up for scraps, then sharks showed up and started going for the guts. It turned into this wild, up-close show that you just can't plan or get anywhere else. At one point the captain was hand feeding a massive fish right out of the water to a ginormous fish. We took our two small daughters with us and had a blast. When we got out to the reef the captain had us on the snapper. As soon as your line hit the water you were reeling in a keeper. We caught so many we started throwing them back! I actually got sea sick when the sun went down, and had to go in the cabin to lay down. The mate that was working with us tried his best to make me as comfortable as possible, and he was excellent with our daughters. Even though I was sick as a dog,lol, I enjoyed hearing my daughters and husband reeling in all them fish!! Two adults and two children it was $144.00. That was less than anywhere else. The captain don't charge any more money, rods no charge, bait no charge!! You do need to bring you a cooler with a lunch and drinks. You can also bring your own poles if you want. I always had great success fishing for Rockfish with him and Tarpon is just the same. He puts you on the fish for sure! Incredibly knowledgeable on all facets of fishing and species of fish. I believe that we will do at least one Snapper trip with him next time. If you're going for Tarpon, I suggest booking multiple days. We did 3 mornings. The first and last days were superb fishing. But the 2nd day the fish spit out all of the hooks. Do not risk having just one day and end up being like that. All fishing levels are welcomed by Wayne. We had a very novice person on the boat with us and he helped him through it all. Great value for sure!

Starting with the reservation process. Very cordial and informative. Check in couldn't have been easier. I was given an access code to enter the property and the keys were ready for me. Pulling into the lovely 4 bedroom home there was a welcome sign hanging with my name on it! Nice touch. 3 floors with an elevator and large and roomy. If you had friends and family staying, you definitely wouldn't be crowded. I know how it is being around family too long sometimes, lol. You are right on the Gulf of Mexico with beautiful views, amazing sunsets and sunrises (where can you do that!). Very clean and elegant. A walk in pool, hot tub, tiki bar, clubhouse with activities and other amenities! Incredible staff and amazing relaxing spot. PS, you can even get a private chef!!!! Say less.
