Terrible customer service!! After buying a Pandora bracelet and numerous charms, not to mention many other things from this store, when my bracelet broke ( the leather began to deteriorate) they were less then helpful! Told me - "this happens with the leather ones" , something they had not informed us of when buying it and stated "nothing we can do for you" as over the 1 yr warranty!! When I look at Pandora site - they state to that if damage occurs - return to retailer and they will send it to Pandora repair Dept. Manhattan store refused to do this!! I too will never shop there again! read more

I walked in to Manhattan Home after a long days work on July 7, 2017. I wanted to get my wife a nice surprise. I was dressed in my work pants and boots, and did look a bit scruffy. An employee, a young thin brunette, ran over to another employee and pointed right at me. I overheard her say "watch him". She eyed me the whole time and actually said "Are you lost? What are YOU looking for HERE?" Guess what, honeybunch, I bet I make more in a half a day on the jobsite than you do for working your 40 hrs work week at minimum wage, so why not try to be a bit more humble and non-judgmental, ey? read more

I am so upset with this store. I have spent a lot of money here buying Sophie Conran dishes for my friend. The mugs that I bought her for Christmas (I also bought her two gravy boats and a sugar bowl) weren't the right ones and when I went in today, the staff refused to exchange them for me. Not a very good story. Their cut off date for returns was January 6th and they weren't prepared to extend it for me. I will never shop here again. read more

Excellent knowledgeable staff! And you can always find one if you have questions to ask! So many products! You can find a gift for any one in here! I buy the Kameleon Jewelry and it is awesome! I love that it is locally owned and operated and the staff are so friendly and great at their jobs! The Christmas products are wonderful and so many unique ones, not like shopping in the big box stores at all...you can tell the products are picked with care! Even how they package your product is above excellent! Tissue, bubble wrap...they take care with the purchase you made. Best store in town--hands down! read more

I had purchased a Christmas "candle powered" nativity ornament on November 2nd. Yesterday I assembled it, put some 4 inch candles into the four corners, and lit them. The Nativity scene turned but just briefly and then the mechanism that turned it would get stuck. I returned it to the store and they told me that my candles were too long - I needed to use their 2 and 1/2 inch candles. So I said well lets try them. The clerk said that they would have to sell me a package to try it and I said ok. She brought out a package and after lighting the candles the Nativity scene would not turn at all. She then informed me that the package of 30 candles was $30.00. I nearly flipped. If I had know that before hand I would have gone to Wallmart to get some cheaper ones. The upshot was that with the credit for the Nativity ornament and the charge for the candles my credit was $15.00. I felt really ripped off - particularly when I went home and saw that my package of twenty Eika Christmas tree candles only cost $5.99. S. Barr read more

Well, sorry Margaret that you have had a bad experience at the store I'm not one to type my opinions generally, but after that scathing review, just had to say what a pleasant experience I had at Manhattan Home and Gift. It was last year and I was lucky enough to be treated to a birthday lunch by my good friend Sharon She had decided to bring me to Nanaimo for lunch also because I don't drive and barely leave my hometown. Myself and two daughters all have Pandora bracelets and my town has a very limited selection of charms. It was therefore, with some urgency that I should decide if I was going to buy my girls each a charm for Christmas no time like the present. The sales lady couldn't have been more helpful and informative. She had a beautiful Pandora bracelet on herself and was able to answer all my questions and concerns I'm heading back to Manhattan this coming week to hopefully repeat my first visit! read more
