We came in around 9 PM after a whole day hike in the North twin River for pre-hunting survey. The bar owner informed us that they were closing at 10 PM, so that was a bummer! We decided to leave to go to camp and agreed to come back the day after. We came in at 2 PM the next day and met Robyn (bartender/owner). Such an amazing person. We played pool and ordered a bunch of drinks. I ordered Long Island ice tea which Robyn made so effortlessly flawless! At par to what I get in Vegas or maybe even better. This was very impressive! Tom got tap beer which I believe was from Great Basin Brewery - I notice he loves this brewery a lot and usually picks this whenever this comes up as a choice. The inside decor is great. Taxidermy of deers, elks, mountain goat and many more (I wish I took pictures - I definitely will when we go back on October). The bathrooms were very clean and well kept and decorated to the theme. They don't have an attached kitchen to order food but it wasn't a deal breaker, we came for the drinks and the conversation and we got what we came for! I knocked at a house that looked occupied. A lady came to the door, and I explained my dilemma. She said, "I'll call Lee." Less than two minutes later, his young friendly employee jogged from the bar, happily opened the pump, and was totally okay with me buying just enough to get to less expensive gas."I get it...our prices are a lot higher here."He processed my credit card, smiled and waved as he walked back toward the bar. The lone bartender was scrambling! But keeping all the patrons happy! Sat next to a Vegas guy who always stops in a for a bit on his way between Reno and Vegas. Like us, his kid goes to UNR. Always drive through Tonopah, but we stayed at the Mizpah for a night and wanted to visit the Tonopah Liquor Company. TLC as it's locally known. Just the right size to unwind for the night, shoot some pool or a quick pitstop. Has a few bar top machines too. Doesn't open till 5 pm though.

Be forewarned that you need cash and there is no ATM in town. We were caught on this as there's no signage to tell you this. We actually almost had to do dishes for the first time in our lives to pay our bill. The bar has very nice antique finishes slot machines and a local flair of characters. We met very nice folks there and learned a lot about the town history. They are hoping to have a restaurant in the future.
