I ordered it medium rare and the middle was definitely rare. This was unique for an American. Normally a medium rare steak in America doesn't come out like this... but it was good. Only 2 stars because the entire staff seemed rude, like they were annoyed by our presence. For clarity, we are a soft spoken American family just looking for dinner. I understand if we were loud or obnoxious but we weren't. The waitress seemingly was wrapped in fine grit sand paper. Coming to take our order she was very short and just had an attitude. She never once came back. I went out of my way to eventually get here attention for the bill. Once I did she never came back for it. I ultimately went to the bar to cash out and the bartender was equally annoyed with us. Yes, I understand it's Europe and restaurant etiquette is different, wait staff don't come around as often and Europeans tend to sit around the table a little longer. This wasn't that. Every member of my party of 4 felt it. Maybe others will have a better experience, but for our visit, multiple staff members were just unfriendly and cold or rude.

We were very impressed with the amount of food we received, the atmosphere, and kindness from our waitress. Unfortunately, we also found out there that we had been given fake money earlier in the day when we went to pay and the owner let us know that we had a fake. He was very kind about it and showed us how to recognize fake euros. Lesson learned. We had a wonderful time and we definitely will go back! (Promise to check our money next time!)

Combined with the insane crowds trying to get on buses and we decided to instead walk to a nearby neighborhood and catch a quick dinner there first. We found this location of the popular Italian chain here and decided to give it a try. There was a small line from people at the game but it moved quickly. Also noteworthy is there is no seating inside this location, but there are enough tables and stuff outside. Trapizzino is known mainly for bread pockets filled with various fillings. You need to pay attention because when they run out of one flavor, they'll replace it with an entirely different flavor. Same goes for their suppli (fried rice ball) varieties. All the varieties sounded delicious, but we went with their cacio e pepe suppli, chicken cacciatore trapizzini, and burrata/anchovy trapizzini. They're a bit tricky to eat since they aren't shy with filling up the bread and forks are nowhere to be found. But man, what a great concept. The food is fairly cheap but the flavors are so varied and such high quality that you forget you're basically eating chain street food. I wish I had more room for food so I could try things like their Ethiopian stew or meatball or whatever else could come out of that kitchen. My chicken one was juicy, herbal, and the right amount of saucy. My wife's burrata was rich, but not too much, and the salty punches of the anchovies helped cut through it. Whether this location or one of the others scattered around Rome, Trapizzino is a great place to refuel after all the walking you'd be doing.

Also tried their fried rice balls. It was good but personally not amazingly good. A lot of locals go here so it's not bad food... I think it's a good place to grab a quick bite to eat. There's only like 3 small table/stools inside and most people just eat it on the go. I think my review might be a little biased Bc my friends and I walked 30-40min to eat here. And we struggled and got lost along the way as well. So when we finally found this place and got to eat here it wasn't as good as I expected it to be. I don't think I'll ever go out of my way to come eat here again. If you're in the area and want to grab something quick to eat that's pretty good this place is your place. But I don't recommend coming here out of your way....

It was late, and we had no time to utilize the hotel shuttle into town. Using Yelp, I located this restaurant within walking distance, not far from the hotel, about 13 min. Upon arrival, the staff welcomed us, spoke English, and seated us immediately. The dining area is well-lit and spacious, offering a variety of seating to choose from. The menu has an excellent selection of food options with English translation underneath for better understanding. I chose the lemon pasta, and my husband chose the black pepper pasta. We shared a salad, an order of grilled prawns, and two delicious cold Peroni draft beers. We shared a homemade pastry made of fresh whipped cream, fresh berries, custard, with a flakey crust for dessert. I highly recommend trying this place if you're in the area. It's an easy spot to walk to from the hotel and serves up delicious Italian food with a pleasant, relaxing ambiance

There were no times listed, but I hoped they would be open at 7:30 on a Sunday. We were almost the first there, but it filled up quickly. The food was phenomenal. I had the pasta with lobster sauce and I was surprised to find half a small lobster on top. The portions were large and delicious. My wife had the Gnocchi which was heavenly. With wine and 2 delicious courses we were around 70 Euro. The service was slow, but that's Italy. The walk back was safe, but not well lit. The biggest danger was stepping in dog poop. Highly recommended (the restaurant, not stepping in dog poop). I heard that the Cavialeri concierge actually recommends this place and you should get reservations if you aren't there right when it opens. The restaurant name is actually Da Luciano.
