The school tried to suggest that he was suddenly autistic and/or needed to be put on drugs. I was in the process of fixing the behavior problem when they called my wife up to kick him out of their school on a Monday. They did not follow the behavior plan which included calling me if at any time was to out of line. We then enrolled him in Ponchartrain Elementary(the local public school). His behavior problem is now fixed, he is happy as a clam, but I find out that he is behind in his studies. Turns out that I was paying Cedarwood thousands of dollars to get less of an education than what he could have gotten at Ponchartrain. I have since heard this story from several other parents at Ponchartrain. They seem to drum out anyone that isn't a lemming, and why on earth was I paying thousands of dollars to this school. I have learned my lesson.

The girls graduated with top honors and excelled in high school and now college due to the foundational education they received at Lake Castle. They teach hard work, dedication and life skills not taught at public schools. They also are one of the few schools that do NOT Teach Common Core. If you are looking for a school that is not education driven, then go to another public or private school in the area. This is not a play based learning school, it is a merit based school and the kids will advance in grade and letter classes as they progress in their learning. Lake Castle isn't for everyone, so listen very clearly at orientation as to what kind of school you are putting your children in. This school does have a zero tolerance policy on being disrespectful to other children, faculty and staff. They also do not tolerate any sexually explicit talk or behavior from any students. I read some of the comments below it seems they maybe misunderstood this concept in the orientation. Mr. Butera is very clear about his expectations up front before anyone pays even so much as a registration fee.

The high school offers a strong college prep curriculum and their students have the college board test scores attesting to that. However, the strength of the school, from my perspective, is its sense of community. The staff really loves on your child. The emphasis here is on "Christian", therefore it certainly wouldn't be for everyone. Modern cultural norms of moral relativism and political correctness are not promoted. "Religion" is not taught, rather the Bible is. Even after 2,000 years Jesus remains most controversial, so of course a school who stands up for Him and espouses His teaching will have its share of critics. It's not a perfect school, how could it be, as there are no perfect people. There has been only one - and He allowed Himself to be mocked, ridiculed, and crucified because no greater love had anyone but Him. I want a school that reinforces what I teach my child at home; NCS does that.
