I've been sending my 3 year old here for almost a year now…read more Even from the beginning of the first tour before we started, I could tell that Xingli really cares. This place is a home daycare, but she's devoted her own house into a school for the children that she so lovingly watches every day. I have visited other home daycare locations where this was not the case; other places turned their basements into daycares and watching children was more of a 'side gig' but this is not the case with Xingli! Her teachers are also wonderful. My daughter loves Ms Chen and Ms Brandi. Ms Helen is part time but she's wonderful too. They are fantastic with the children. We get updates with pictures throughout the day, every day. The lunches that are given to the children makes me jealous. We live two blocks away so it's just so convenient. I couldn't ask for a better place for my daughter to be. I can't recommend this place enough.

I would NOT recommend this preschool with the current director in place. I can't say enough about…read morethe teachers they are absolutely amazing, however if there are issues in the classroom the director does not remedy the situation in the proper manner. Their handbook states : BEHAVIOR POLICY It is our goal to provide a safe and nurturing environment at GCP. We work together with parents to help children develop inner controls to develop appropriate social behavior. Teachers use positive reinforcement, and redirection, along with instruction in classroom rules and the modeling of appropriate behavior and manners. Children are reminded of the school rules and encouraged to think of appropriate ways to express themselves. In order to keep children safe, GCP cannot allow hitting, pushing, shoving, biting, spitting, kicking or other aggressive behaviors that are harmful to a child themselves or to others. Multiple infractions can result in intervention by the Director and/or parents. If aggressive behavior continues, the preschool will request one or more of the following: 1. A parent may be called to pick up their child from preschool 2. A parent may be requested to accompany the child to school and remain in the classroom to prevent the aggressive behavior 3. Parent(s) may be asked to keep the child home until the behavior stops I can tell you from first hand experience that they do not follow their behaviour policy. My daughter had another child's hands around her neck, hair pulled, and snacks stolen by the same kid and to not deal with continuous weekly issues I had to move my daughter from that class to ensure it didn't continue. The director then told another parent, that the reason I had her moved was because I have "anxiety". She does not know how to talk with people and basically accused my daughter of saying one thing at home and another at school. This was an ongoing issues with other children in the class ... so we must all be lying? Due to all the issues we had we decided to pull her out for the 24-25 school year. They have a no refund policy for the deposit of $1000.00. We understood that there is a no refund policy however considering how they handled the situation, we asked to meet us half way. The response: "We do have a no refund policy unless it is an emergency ( death in the family, someone loses their job, a family moves away etc)." We asked to speak with board, a meeting was set up with the director and 2 individuals that were not members of the board. She must not understand that it is public record and I was able to find out who the president was and sent a certified letter to his home. All they provided was a "We would like to offer you our summer camp program free of charge." Well its not free of charge cause I gave you $1000.00 deposit. Beware of this preschool, many families have left and I'm sure all for good reason . They certainly do not follow their Christian values that they preach constantly.

I watched each child be greeted with kind-hearted attention by the front office staff. The ceremony was nothing short of amazing, a beautiful tear jerker and humbling experience to see all of these wonderfully made children set & achieve their own uniquely individual goals. The mayor of the city (Yonkers) took time out of his day, attended and presented the graduates with their diplomas. Very well put together program and a moving experience for all. Congrats graduates and excellent job to the staff.

I visited the school and I was excited because the school was in a good building and it had everything that my son needed. When my son first started he was supposed to have a 1 on 1 aid and when I checked in a few times he didn't , it took the school some time but they finally hired a local young lady to work with him with in a few weeks even though they knew months in advance that he was starting. My biggest disappointment was my son coming home filthy with dried up food on his face that had probably been there since lunch that no one bothered to wipe off and stained clothing. How embarrassing and disappointing to have to take him off the school bus that way in the afternoon. I complained to my school district but nothing changed even though the school got the complaint. I just couldn't comprehend why if they hired an aid for him and him only why couldn't she take care of one child, why did he have to look like no one cared about him. If I could have pulled him out of the school and kept him home I would have. My sons aid or teacher hardly ever wrote in his communication book that I sent with him daily unless there was something that they needed or they thought he wasn't feeling well. He did one year there and I couldn't wait to get him out of that school. I won't be bias, I talked to another parent that I know that sends her daughter there and she was happy so everyone's experience is different. What I would say to any parent with special needs children, if you're unhappy with a program, find another program that you're happy with.

The teachers and director foster the children's positive feelings of high self-esteem in order to help them overcome any difficulties they may face after the pre-school. We feel strongly that this is a great school for our child who indicates to us numerous times that she loves the school.

My son attended for less than 6 months after I finally became fed up with the following:…read more 1) Every week they beg you for more money -- donations, activities, scholarship programs (for the POOR kids of one of the most affluent areas in NY?????), etc. The Director (Ronnie) cries of their non-profit status and how low they keep their tuition costs to help out parents. Note: I met a former board member that knows the situation well, and she said, "Ronnie is bankrupting the nursery to support her lifestyle." Explains why every week she was on vacation in California or on some international adventure. 2) The energy is HORRIBLE esp. if you are not donating to all of their programs. They won't even greet your child when you arrive with him/her. The teachers all look exhausted, unhappy and annoyed. And they are quick to tell you what they think of every detail of your child's abilities -- mostly negative. 3.) They charge a HUGE deposit (no other preschool in the area charges like this), and BEWARE of the contract. We lost several thousand dollars for taking our son out early. It's insane. 4.) It is so tiny that in the winter the kids are all huddled together in a small space -- ALL DAY. A MUCH BETTER OPTION: World Cup Nursery School. Amazing, sweet, welcoming and your child actually learns something! Large facility as well. Plenty of room for kids to exert energy!
