When I come…read morehere, it's mostly for the impressive food market in the sub-level, which might be overlooked if you're a first-time visitor. The products they sell there are fresh, tasty and wonderfully displayed. They got lots of import stuff, so if you look for something rare, this might be the place to get it. Besides a nice selection of fruit, veggies, meat, fish and seafood they also got a great selection of cheeses (Swiss and Import). You can sample some if you're honestly interested in buying. There's also a nice Bar in the middle, if you feel like having some oysters and Champagne (or other items). Besides that they have a great alcohol section. All kinds of Whiskey, Rum, Tequila or any other booze. And more importantly: a great range of wines! Right now I'm really into their "Buglioni Amarone", the Californian "Bogle Phantom" or the divine Californian "Caymus" Cabernet Sauvignon. If you are looking for some fancy but heavenly salmon, you should try some of their "Balik" Salmon. Best I've ever had. About 50CHF, but worth every buck. This is really the place to go when I look for some unusual, but great food items. The rest of the store is fine with the clothing section, toys, make-up, perfumes, jewelery, accessories, electronics our household products. A real restaurant with some nice views is on the top floor. They have nice christmas decorations for sale in the holiday season as well, but it's the food market which makes this place. Love it!

My favorite shop in Zurich!…read more The way the shop is arranged is part minimal chic, part eclectic; Townhouse is one of those rare shops that make you want to stay for ages and and just browse, and chat, and buy one of everything (at least.) All products that run under the Townhouse label are designed and/or produced in Zurich and surroundings, and the store owners frequently work with local artists. The range is complemented by handpicked items from international brands that you won't find anywhere else in Zurich like Heeley Eau de Parfum, Archie Grand or Jewelberry. There are lots of lovely and hard-to-find items here. Another thing I love about Townhouse is that they are always incredibly welcoming and helpful, no matter if you just want to browse or how much or how little you end up buying; this is no small feat in Zurich, where shop owners/assistants are often a little grumpy or not very welcoming.

My comments are in the context of my use of Victorinox travel gear (brief cases) for over ten…read moreyears. I have used a number of well known brands for brief cases, and I have never experienced customer service as great of that of Victorinox. I am admittedly a bit hard on my briefcases as I deal with a lot of documents and have many electronic devices and accessories, so the compartments and zippers get a lot of use. I recently tore the zipper on my current Victorinox bag, contacted customer support, and they went above and beyond my expectations. I am a customer for life. Well done!

SELLS FAKE CIGARS AND THREATENS ME IF I EXPOSE THEM. Earlier in July. I have bought some Cohiba…read more2004 Sublimes from this shop. Owner wanted cash and no receipts was given (owner avoiding tax probs). Total amount of 18400CHF for two box. Owner's wife checked the cigar with me "CAN BE SEEN ON THE PHOTO ATTACHED" (I'm not a cigar specialist so I don't know how to distinguish between fakes). She claims she has been in the business for 20 years and they haven't sold a single fake in their life. Trusted her and came home with the cigar. However, when I compared this with my other box of Sublimes (bought from LCDH when it first released) the band and box was completely off. The Cohiba band was cut uneven and the EL band is flat (should be embossed) So I took it to multiple LCDH and big cigar shops in Switzerland and Germany. All has given the conclusion that these two boxes I bought from house of smoke was fake. I emailed the owner and as the emails says he threatens to claim compensation from me if I expose them. I have bought some cigars from them before so I didn't want things to get serious so I stayed calm and tried to find a solution for this. After multiple email and phone exchange they finally agreed to return these two box. However, when I ask for an explanation and compensation for 18400CHF of fake cigars. The owner replied "Then we leave as how it is and go claim your customer rights". No apologies or explanation were given. I am writing this review to warn those who wishes to purchase from this shop in the future. This is a shop who sells fake and doesn't give a crap about your customer rights.
