They've significantly expanded their space and their offerings - the result is a better shopping experience with some pleasant surprises. Much better selection of beer and wine and an upgrade to the snack selections. Did they have Nightingale ice cream sandwiches before? Sweet! Especially since Cafe Zata no longer carries them. They could take better advantage of the space. It's lighter and more open now, which is good, but with no major grocers in Manchester (yet) they could add more real food and essentials. They're working on it. For example, you can find whole milk and, surprisingly, oat milk, but no skim. This area of RVA is a food desert, and I can't understand why we don't have a grocery store, so a market like this serves an incredible purpose for the many new residential developments in the area. Yes this market is a little pricier, but when you need one thing it beats driving to a Kroger that is 15 minutes away if you live in Manchester... This store has a pretty good selection of goods, think a 7-eleven on steroids, or maybe a CVS/Walgreens, but they have some food to go options...and I have to take a minute to preach on beer selection. They actually are better than most groceries stores when it comes to craft selection. Decent wine selection. I was really excited for this place as a new resident in Manchester. Unfortunately, this place is not worth it. Nothing has a price on it and when you ask them for prices, they say different prices for the same things. They never want to give you a receipt. Everything is super pricey. Things were all over the place and not very organized, but the biggest issue is that when there was a homeless man in front of me (minding his own business using $2 to buy a drink) the man behind the counter told him that he needed to learn to take a shower. When the man responded that he has no where to go, he was answered with "then you aren't a man." Really hurt to watch someone get treated that way for living their life. I bought an already overpriced bottle of wine (which is a given because this is a private business) for $15.99. My total bill was $19.07. That's about 20% tax...that's ridiculous. I bought a $1.79 pack of orbit and my total was $2.43. That's almost 40% tax...that's ridiculous. The store is very convenient and the guy (who I believe is the owner) is very nice. I've put off reviewing this place for the better part of a year, but tonight, I wanted to grab a 6-pack before midnight and their doors were locked at 11:43 PM. This place is a complete joke. Been going here as a "last resort" type of place for the better part of 2 years. Nowhere else in the Manchester area stays open til midnight (McDonought market is open til 10 PM and they are a million times better) Sketch location, been confronted by multiple people outside for money/food, including multiple who got slightly angry/annoyed and made me feel uncomfortable. They don't really have price tags on ANYTHING. MAKE SURE you check your total before you pay. I've been charged 3 different prices for the same item in the same time period. The dude who runs the place is a complete jackass, who refers to you as "my friend" only until you ask about the standards/prices and then will immediately become cold. They never offer me a bag despite buying multiple items. I've bought IPAs (craft beer) that have a best by date of 2 months beforehand. They have ACTUALLY refused to give me a receipt before because it was "for one thing" Will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. I'm tired of this, especially in this area when it comes to convenience stores. This area deserves better 1000%. read more

I joined Yelp solely for the purpose of alerting people to the near certainty that you will be charged more than the posted price for items in this store. I had 3 different people attempt to overcharge me a total of 6 or 7 times before I finally got the message across that I was willing to pay their absurdly inflated prices, but that I would not be defrauded and stolen from. They stopped overcharging me...but when a friend went to pick something up for us, he was overcharged by 10%. The two of us returned together, and, when the cashier saw me come through the door, she laughed and started got the money she overcharged him from under the register. I used to frequent this place because of the convenient location, however all the vast items have no price tag, and you're being over charged most of the time. The lady at the register is also extremely rude. She misheard me when I asked for a bag for my sodas, and got upset with me saying "I asked you, and you said no!" I said, "No, I said yes". She rolls her eyes and throws my items in my bag, which prompts me to say "Just because you didn't hear me- that's not my problem." She goes "No problem!" And throws my bag at me. This place has you covered if you forgot to buy something on your shopping trip. Beer. Best beer selection that I've seen in a convenience store. Whether it's craft or big brand name they probably have the beer you are looking for. They have coffee, fountain drinks some fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as many foreign candies and snacks that you don't normally see.
