My daughter (9) and son (6) have been going to Mana Martial Arts since they were 3-1/2 yrs and 4 yrs old respectively. They both love MMA. Mana Martial Arts teachers are really good at how they train kids. Miss April is really good with small kids. They are very professional and kids love their martial arts coaches. I personally believe that it is really important for kids to be engaged in some physical activity to keep them active, learn self-discipline, develop self confidence, high esteem, and spend less time on screen :). MMA not only provides all these but also trains kids for self defense, and stand up for themselves and others in case they face tough situations like bullying. I can proudly say that my daughter is learning it well. She once stood up for her classmate when HE was being bullied in the school bus. Later that kid thanked her! Sensei Jason and Miss April are all Black belts, highly trained professional who take the training seriously, and at the same time have personal bonding with every kid. MMA also provides after school day care and pick-up my kids from school. This has been really helpful given that my wife and I both are working and we are always relaxed that our kids are in a safe and secure environment but at the same time learning life-saving skills. Sensei Jason and April are great with children, each in their own different way. My son has been going to Mana MA for nearly 3 years and he enjoys attending the classes, especially as the class size evolves. Sensei Jason teaches in a very thoughtful way, emphasizing respect for oneself and others. It has built so much confidence in my son and he has developed wonderful self control in potentially chaotic situations. I love that he is not necessarily strict and lets the children actually be children, but he very easily reins them in when it is time to focus. My 3 kids have gone here for a few years and have learned so much. I love the coordination, respect and self defense they're being taught and they have fun doing it! My 10 year old, hyperactive son, started at Mana two weeks ago. He LOVES it. He wakes up on class days, bounds down the stairs and says "It's MMA day!". My grandson takes martial arts here and it is a wonderful environment. The kids learn to listen and comprehend multi-step instructions as well as how to show respect.
