I grew sick of the inconsistent cuts that I was getting from a nearby chain-cut place. My first visit to Cherry's was as a walk-in. I had to wait for one or two regulars to finish, and was taken as soon as a chair was free. I was out the door within an hour of when I arrived. Since then I've learned: walk ins are absolutely welcome, but the barbers keep their own schedule and appointments. Between the barbers there, you can get seated quickly. If you are a first-time walk in, simply tell/ask the barbers, "I am a first time walk-in, can you get me in? If so, when?" I didn't know their system on my first visit, and it was a bit awkward. They won't turn anybody away, but you may have to wait. If you want prompt service, call ahead before your visit and find out when they have an opening, even if you are a stranger and have never visited before. The barbers will ask each other who is free, and find a time that works for you. When I call and I am told to be there at x:00, my regular barber is always ready for me at that time, chair clean and empty. I am in and out in 15-20 minutes. My barber is great, friendly, remembers all of my stories from visit to visit. The prices are *great* for what you get (I think their price is $13, but only $10 on special?). Cut, straight razor shave of the neck. Nearby are the usual chain stores, with the same price. Why would you go to a chain when you can have an experienced professional do the same work for the same or less money?
