Amazing food with horrible service. Amazing food = 5 stars, but bad service brings it down to 1 star. I'm giving this a final 2 stars after some thought.
Let's talk about the food first: it's lovely. The pizza is great, the wedges are perfect. Food comes fast even during rush hour.
Now let's talk about the service: it's not there. If a waitress takes the order from the kitchen to our table, chances are they will knock your drink over and not admit it. I have never once raised my voice at her when I talked to her about it. I spoke to her like I would to someone my age, so that she wouldn't feel like I was being aggressive or condescending but she closed her ears and refused to apologise to my friend who, quite frankly, looked like a sopping wet dog at this point (kidding, I love you!).
Anyway. I thought, 'well, since you won't listen, that's alright. I can discuss this with the manager.' I ask her for the manager, I used words like "please" and "thank you"; you know, general etiquette, and she responds by gritting her teeth at me and saying, "sure", then proceeding to tell all her friends (also waitresses) behind the counter about her side of the story, thus making me look like the bad guy. The manager never came.
Enter 3-4 of her friends/waitresses a few meters away staring at you for the entirety of the meal. Blinking is not a part of their vocabulary. My friend, who was the unfortunate victim of the spillage, looked extremely uncomfortable at their open hostility. She visibly shrunk from their glares.
This isn't high school. Take responsibilities for your own mistakes instead of twisting the story to your little clique and running away from a simple "sorry". It's unprofessional, especially if you are paid to serve customers in a professional setting.
When we paid for our meal, the cashier was quite rude to us, but that's to be expected when you realise that most waitresses know each other outside of work. The manager, who was coincidentally near her, was a fresh breath of air; he was NOTHING like those waitresses. He was polite, and you can tell he was raised right from the respectful tone he used. However, halfway through our conversation, another waitress hiding behind us interrupts me and raises her voice! For what? For her friend, who had caused the spill, because she wanted to cover for her. Here's what she said: No, she didn't do anything! I was there! I saw it!!
Spoiler (if you even need one, at this point): she wasn't even close to our table at all. I didn't even know she worked there until she yelled at me!
I maintained a neutral expression when I turned to face her. A look that all but said, "your horrible attitude won't annoy me like you think it would. Your bad lie also isn't believable."
"Why would she do this?", you gasp. "That could get her fired for yelling at a customer who wasn't causing a fuss to begin with!"
No, she wouldn't be fired. For reasons...unknown. To me, at least.
Not saying you shouldn't visit, of course! Wear a raincoat and you can ;)
