I know that one day soon, as my children get older, I will purchase season tickets here for the entire family! I want my kids to grow up with that Tech tradition, and even if neither end up attending here, at least they will know what it is to love an institution of higher learning. True enough, when compared to the behemoths of the Southeastern Conference, our little stadium, lacks maximum bells and whistles, but it is more than comparable to many mid-major college stadiums around the southern U.S., and across our country. Many individuals have strapped it on, and played in this stadium, and left it when the time came, to then find even greater success on and in other fields. NFL Hall of Famers: Terry Bradshaw, Willie Roaf. Numerous Super Bowl Champions: Bradshaw, Chris Boniol, Doug Evans,Tramon Williams, Ryan Allen, etc. Canadian Football League Hall of Famer and All Time Great Matt Dunigan, Country Music Platimum-Selling Artist and Movie Star Trace Adkins, Duck Call innovator and Reality TV Star Phil Robertson. I have seen countless games inside this stadium. I have also seen the greatest game ever played inside this stadium: a 31-30 come from waaaay behind victory over the then Freedom Bowl bound Colorado State University Rams, a non-conference foe, on November 17th, 1990, that then also propelled Tech into the Independence Bowl versus the University of Maryland! The goal posts came down for the first time in this stadium's history, after all the time had expired from this spirited contest. This stadium these days (2016) is seeing some of its' greatest, most inspired teamwork yet, as Head Coach Skip Holtz has taken the Bulldogs onwards and upwards to two consecutive bowl victories, and one Conference USA Championship appearance so far! Go 'Dawgs!!

I was really impressed with the nice facilities they have here. The entrance to the race track is easy and self parking. The parking lot is big and I had no problems parking. Concession stand had no line although I thought the prices were kind a high. I visited the concession stands twice and it costs me $9 each time. Great view from grand stands. I could see the whole race track from where I was sitting. Bathrooms facilities were excellent. They even have Air Conditioning. Which is a first for me to see. Admission was $15. A pretty reasonable price for a race track to watch locals race. They try to race if they can. Even though it rained yesterday, and most race tracks canceled because of that. But, this one didn't. This race track worked hard to put on a race and get the race track ready for racing. Really great facilities this race track has. Again, I was impressed. Best lighting of a race track that I have ever seen. This race track is very well lit up with lights. I have been to 37 different race tracks and I have to say this is number 1 in lighting. No working score board. However, they use Race Monitor App. So, at $4.99 a year currently, you can keep up with the race. This stadium has been open since 1983. It underwent two million dollars in renovations in 2017…read more During those recent renovations a new, larger scoreboard was installed, parking has been added, as well as tailgate spaces. It is still lovingly referred to as, "The Hole" in the way that it appears dug into the ground, much like a large crater in the Earth. The stadium seats 19,600 comfortably. The largest attendance in stadium history occurred on September 3rd, 1994 when then-senior and Heisman Trophy candidate, the late, great Steve "Air" McNair brought his "A" game to Grambling. The Tigers contained that explosive Braves offense just enough to pull out an exciting win here at home in front of that huge crowd, 62-56. The person for whom this stadium memorializes and is a namesake, the icon and legendary lifetime Head Coach Eddie G. Robinson also collected his 400th career victory on the turf here after defeating Mississippi Valley State on October 7th, 1995. A tearful Robinson said after the milestone accomplishment, "For a person like me, today has to be a great moment. It could only happen in America."
