    Malibu Sand Writing "Malibu 3"

The beaches here in Malibu are great. Mainly clean and well kept. The water is very calming and relaxing as its also very clean and somewhat clear. Everyone around this area was very kind and full of joy and I hope to visit back here again!

I love driving down the coastal freeway passing by Malibu beach. It's just so pretty and peaceful. We were just driving by and we parked on the side of the freeway to take some photos. No matter where in Malibu you go to visit the beach, you really can't go wrong with this stunner. I highly recommend! A good spot to visit with your family, friends, significant other, or just hang out with yourself and just indulge in your surroundings. Can't go wrong.

I was disappointed in Malibu Beach. I'm not gonna lie. I was expecting a lot better prettier beach. I don't know why I was expecting that. I guess I just think Malibu beach and was expecting an excellent adventure. It was very rocky uneven water was freezing cold, which I know it's not the beach his fault, but I was just taken back by all the rocks and uneven this that we had to walk over to try to get to an area to relax.

The surfers in the right side. Waiting for the waves to come out. The swell-is ok

It was not crowded on Tuesday. Is hard to find parking. We manage. A lot of surfers Reminds me a lot when I was young. It was hot day and we survived.

I had an amazing time at the beach today. The sand was so clean and soft. The entire beach pristine. The water is much more clear than I imagined it would be. It's a great place for viewing the sunset. Lost a star because their pay machines aren't working and it took all cars about 10 minutes each to use to machine to be let in. It was extremely frustrating. Please fix that! But lovely beach and views. Hardly anyone around. Very peaceful Experience.

I actually enjoy coming to this beach. It's one of the places you must visit living in Los Angeles and it's less crowded than Santa Monica and Venice Beach without all of the riff-raff you'll find in those areas. If you want to spend the day watching surfers catch some waves, this is definitely the area. There's a secret spot where most of the surfers go and it's a very cool beach to visit and walk on especially at night. The majority of the beach going north up through PCH is lined with multi-million dollar homes that are both unique and picturesque. And of course, you can't forget the gorgeous Santa Monica mountains that provide an amazing backdrop while you're strolling or swimming in the ocean. Just an FYI, the water is pretty cold year around and the temperatures in the area drop pretty quickly. If you're going to stay all day, definitely bring a sweater or a hoodie because you'll need it. Otherwise, enjoy!

I had a great time in malibu beach today. The waves were cold and nice. I was in awe at the beauty infront of me. I haven't been by P.C.H in literally years and being surrounded by the mountains and nature gave me such bliss. I was at peace in my time there. I went to then rest by the sand and then to my surprise was hit by a big wave that reached the area I was resting at. It got my shoes wet but I did not mind at all. I then went to go jog for 30 minutes. I was exhausted by the end, but was glad I came and conquered!!

Go and part the sea, yeah, in Malibu And the sun goes down I watch you slip away And the sun goes down Hole - Malibu I have wanted to experience a sunset in Malibu for years. There is a Hole music video titled Malibu which is the closest I've gotten till this day. Driving down the scenic 1 highway from Santa Maria we made it to Malibu as the sun was about to set. Sea air was as fresh as it gets in LA. I see the mansions of the rich and famous on the hillside and beach. I admire the million dollar views from the viewpoint. I see the lovely sand glisten as the waves lap along the shore. Sun silhouettes palm trees just off the beach. Golden light illuminates this iconic beach town. I watch as the red sun slow sinks into the sea. Left behind is a reddish orange glow. Beautiful. Air grows chill as darkness envelops us. I get back in my car to drive home. LA traffic is terrible but I'd drive through it to watch another Malibu sunset. Review #700

Not a staged photo! Someone placed this there before we stumbled upon it. Maybe I should have put a sea slug in before taking the pic..

One of the best beaches I've ever been to. So peaceful, beautiful, and private. I could lay out here every day if I had the choice.

We've all heard of PTSD…read more... You know, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. But have you heard of PDSB?? (I'll break this one down in a bit) Well, if you've read any of my other reviews of the picturesque beaches in Southern California, your PTSD of "here we go again, another review about white sandy beaches, moderate temp. waters and picture perfect sunsets" by Lance L. just might kick in. But bear with me, because this review, you're definitely not gonna want to skip. So what is PDSB you ask? Well Point Dume State Beach of course! Yes, one of Malibu's finest & for good reason too! Sure, when everyone thinks about beaches in Malibu... For those with families, It's usually Zuma Beach, but that's where EVERYBODY goes and because of this, it's ALWAYS packed! And of course, there's where all the surfers go.... Surfrider Beach, hence the name! But Surfrider is for hangin' 10 and you just might get a big stare down by the locals. But Point Dume State Beach or PDSB as I know you will now refer to it is about to be your new favorite. Here's why: A pay lot which sounds like it sucks to have to pay just to go to the beach, but the minimal cost ($6-$15 depending the season) is worth it. The lot is literally parallel to the beach and once you park, you are right on the sand! In addition, Point Dume State Beach, although smaller than Zuma is pretty decent because it's not as well known about so you will definitely find a place to plant that umbrella and set up your beach towel to watch the kids play, throw a football around or work on your tan lines. As far as Safety, Not only is lifeguard towers right on the sand, but a lifeguard headquarters office is also onsite, so if something goes south, help is very nearby. Point Dume State Beach does have fairly maintained, public restrooms that's are serviced regularly by the beaches and harbors maintenance team as well as a few porta-potties onsite for use. The beaches themselves are clean and do not have a lot of trash, debris or tar like some of the beaches that I've been to up North on the Ventura County Side (Oxnard & Ventura beaches). And the best part, some of the best sunsets you can catch on this part of the coastline. Besides the actual beach, you can actually hike from the beach side itself up the Point Dume hiking trail to get an even better view or jump off the cliff if you dare. But.... Please, Please, Just make sure you are a solid swimmer if you are a real swimmer thrill seeker as the water near the cliff is rocky and the currents are very unforgiving. There are always calls for service where Lifeguards, Firefighters and the Sheriff's department are on scene performing rescues, but unfortunately, sometimes are unsuccessful and people have tragically drowned. So maybe leave the Olympic style diving into the Big Blue to the pros. And now that you probably have actual PTSD from me telling you how you could actually die if you aren't careful.... Maybe just shake it off and get some PDSB instead and enjoy the Best of Malibu from the safety of your seat right on the sand! "Life's a Beach, Enjoy it!"

Parking wise, there's street parking along PCH, paid parking lot on PCH, street along the beach as well as another paid lot on the beach. Depending on the time, parking is a bitch as it's always full. It's a pretty wide stretch of beach so there's plenty of spaces for laying out and so on. One side has all the volleyball court. We arrived around 11:30 and luckily found street parking along the beach. It was nice out, sunny and a good amount of people along close to the water. We found a spot and made ourself comfortable. There was a good half dozen or so school buses parked where the volleyball courts are. Either a summer camp or school is back in session and it was a beach day. The odd thing, after an hour we arrived, the clouds started to roll in. Within minutes, it went from sunshine to overcast and gloomy. Stayed like that for a good hour and half. Even looking out to the hillside, it was so gloomy that you couldn't see down the beach. When the clouds burned off, it was back to beautiful beach weather. Lifeguard towers were in full force. We did notice that security on four wheelers were patrolling. They did questioned some people. It's a beautiful stretch of beach if you haven't been. The water was beautiful and looked clean but the waves were on a different level. They were pretty massive so lifeguards were on full force. People did go in the water but not a lot. To make it more magical, there were schools of dolphins swimming close by the shore. Even more fun, you could see them basically surfing the waves. That brought everyone on their feet trying to get the perfect picture. There's a good amount of restrooms and showers. It was actually clean which is a major plus. There's also a little lagoon that's a hangout for all the seagulls and pelican. Sand was soft and hot. Beach was clean, water was clean so it's was a good experience. It's a must if you haven't been.

Parking is $3 an hour or $12 for the day, and the park is open 7am until sundown. After parking, it's about a seven‑minute walk along a peaceful path before the beach opens up in front of you. Most of the shoreline is protected wetlands, which actually makes the whole place feel calm and untouched.
