Phenomenal museum showcasing Latin American talent. I was really impressed by the scope and assortment of work. The building itself was beautiful and served as a great canvas for the collection. It was light-filled and open. We started our tour in the top floor and then made our way down through successive galleries. There were so many good pieces, I was amazed at how many thought provoking and significant pieces were at MALBA. This would be one of my top ten globally favorite museums I've visited. Definitely worth your time. Restroom facilities were also very clean. The museum store was interesting but lacked a wider commercial assortment of products. It was more focused on books, jewelry and other higher price point items. Overall, an excellent museum that makes you feel inspired by art and want to learn more about the artists showcased.

Third Eye collection of 240 artworks presented on the 2nd floor

This was my favorite museum in BA. It also was located in a well trafficked area in Palermo The museum's building was quite eye catching with its contemporary look, open feeling and lots of windows. Tickets were 9000ARS for foreigners and it was checked before taking the escalator up. Bathrooms, theatre, gift shop were on the ground floor. MALBA had two artist collections on the third and basement floors. Liliana Porter was the most engaging for me. The Tercer Ojo on the second floor was a collection of many different Latin American artists explored via 240 pieces. The museum did a wonderful curating job as I was quite fascinated with many of the works especially from artists that I've not been exposed to in the past. Rooms flowed nicely, explanations were printed in both English and Spanish and spacing was good. There also were no large crowds unlike my visit to MNBA.

MALBA is outstanding. The building itself is beautiful and the exhibits are impressive. We also had lunch at the restaurant and later coffee in smaller coffee shop on the second floor. Not surprisingly Argentine and Brazilian artists are heavily represented with fewer artists from elsewhere. That said the two pieces by Frida Kahlo are extraordinary. Don't miss the area on the main floor behind the gift shop. There are some wonderful works by artists i had never heard of who produced their art while confined in mental institutions. .

We visited MALBA Art Museum in October 2023. Great museum overall! The architecture of the building is a great backdrop for the art displayed inside the museum. We were treated to a drag performance in the art gallery which came as a complete surprise to us but we were living for it. Great art on display. Loved seeing work from Frida Kahlo and Edgardo Giménez among others. You can imagine how surprised we were to see the huge statue of the drag queen Divine, being residents of Baltimore where Divine was from. There was an admission fee the day that we visited. I think some days are free to the public or reduced cost. We took an Uber to get here so I am unsure what the situation is with parking. Clean restrooms. Nice little cafe to stop, take a break, and have a drink and maybe a sweet treat too. The staff was very professional and polite. Great museum experience!

We had an amazing experience at the museum. It was interesting showcasing unique art and collections from Latin America. Context in Spanish and english. We enjoyed our visit very much.

It's one of a few places you need to pay entrance fee. It's only two floor but the arts are cool and there is a place you can play around. Some exhibitions have only Spanish translation. I wish they have English translation. It's kids friendly and they will have a great time. 1-2hour is enough. Check the website before you go. It opens till 8pm but as far as I remember, they close on Wednesday or Tuesday.

A great permanent collection of Latin Artists, including: Xul Solar, Antonio Berni, Cicero Dias, Julio le Parc, Ary Brizzi and so many more. We lucked out and caught the Narciso Plebeyo show as well. Lovely museum. Add 1-2 hours to take time for the absolutely delicious cafe, everything is good.

We went to MALBA and the experience was just wonderful! They had an exhibition of Mexican art, they had pieces of art from Frida Kahlo, Siquerios and Maria Izquierdo who I love! The price is super low $120 Argentinian pesos, around $7-8 dollars. Plan to walk a lot. Plan to enjoy a lot. You can go to the Japanese garden, after the museum. There is a restaurant in the museum. We opted not to eat there, Because there are many wonderful restaurants in BA.

Love this museum. A collection of some great artists. My only complaint that it is not big enough. It gets crowded fast so come in early in a weekday and enjoy. Great little coffee shop inside the museum and gift shop.

Some of the most amazing art I've ever seen and I've been to museums in NYC, Paris, and London. Hugely interactive exhibits and just great modern art. The lines are soooo long that I recommend you go before it even opens. The guards did pull us off the line when they saw us with young children (after we had already been waiting 30 min) which was nice but it still took another 30 min inside to wait. The museum is not overly large which makes it tenable. This is a must see!

MALBA is a wonderful small museum in the heart of Buenos Aires. There are three floors of exhibit area around an open central lobby. It appears the top floor is geared for temporary exhibits and the second floor for the permanent collection. I really liked the permanent collection and how the exhibits flowed together. The museum also has a very nice cafe right outside. A perfect visit and eat location!

Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes - The 2nd floor features the more modern collection

Don't let the long line streaming down the block fool you. Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, what I…read moreconsider to be Buenos Aires' answer to "most Met-equivalent museum in South America", is free to enter and the line moves quickly. Seemingly the sole reason for the line is the ticketing process during which you're asked if you'd like to make a donation. There's no pressure and you'll be handed a ticket whatever your response, but the process does slow the surge of guests into the place and that's probably a good thing. This is a very popular, excellent museum. I'm a slow and methodical viewer of art and when I say that I tired of looking at everything before running out of things to look at you get an idea of the size of the collection. I began upstairs, where the more modern collection resides then moved down to the main floor with an extensive collection of, well, everything that wasn't up on the second floor. Wanting to at least see the whole place I moved on to a ground floor extension that housed an Egypt-centric exhibit heavy on Spanish text which I couldn't read. No worries; my attention span was shot. Days later, friends we were traveling with came here. There was still a line but they - with differing tastes than me - confirmed the same findings: this is a great museum. I'm not certain what days and times are least attended but if you're not a fan of crowds you might consider such a question before a visit as the Argentinians seem to know what you're waiting to discover: this place is a treasure.

This is a 5-star experience and must visit. It's free to enter, so it can get pretty busy (see…read morepics), but absolutely worth it. The collection is impressive, with a great mix of Argentine and international works, and you could easily spend a couple of hours here. A must-visit if you're in Buenos Aires.

If you have any interest in Eva Duarte Peron and her impact on Argentina, I would definitely…read morerecommend what we did. My wife and I took a half day tour of some of the important sights including the Casa Rosado, Recoletta Cemetery and ending up at this museum. I am sure what originally peaked my interest was a Broadway Show about her but there was so much more to this amazing story of how she captivated a country and was both loved and despised at the same time. The part that wanted to focus on was the love. Even the building this museum is housed in was a foundation of her foundation to house and educate the poor until they could find alternative living. Giving women the right to vote and becoming a voice for those who needed one. Yes, this also becomes a massive game of politics and this woman totally captivated me even though I learned things about her that did not sit well with me. Translation for me was not an issue as we had our own guide. I did not understand why the clothing could not be photographed. There are plenty of pictures of it right here in Yelp and you would think that there are also thousands of photos while she was actually wearing this clothing. This well maintained museum was a great final stop on my personal "Evita Trail." She was clearly captivating, knew how to speak to a crowd (remember, she was an actress,) and will last in the history book for a long, long time. KUDOS to the team at Museo Evita and the private guides who travel with you.

I am a big fan of Evita and her story. As such, I didn't want to miss this museum…read more It was interesting, but a little disappointing. I think the problem, to be fair, was a lack of English translations for many of the signs. However, I was expecting more. The collection was mostly of her clothing, and a few news reels. In short, it's worth seeing if you are a huge fan--but I wouldn't necessarily go too far out of your way to see this.
