I read books now! I used to frequently go to the library in Pittsburgh and really stopped reading…read moreover the last few years. After the Yelp event that I hosted at the downtown Library, I signed up for a library card. I checked out their website and was happy to see I could reserve books at the San Marco location. I was alerted when they were ready for pick up, and they give you ample time to pick them up too. I parked for free right in front of the library, and there was a security guard that greeted me at the door. I picked up my books off the "hold" shelf, and then it was a self check out! I didn't even speak to anyone! I just scanned my card, scanned the books, and left - honor system style. The self check out was so high tech and offered other suggestions based on the books I picked out. There were lots of kids at this location the 3 times I've visited. I didn't explore the library much, but am so happy about the services offered here. I've read 2.5 books so far for the first time in years! I'm a reader now! Thanks Jacksonville Public Library!
