I understand that my situation may or may not ultimately be viewed as a strong legal case, and I…read morefully respect an honest professional assessment by a professional lawyer. However, the intake conversation was unnecessarily dismissive and adversarial from the start. I was repeatedly interrupted, spoken over, and not given a fair opportunity to explain the specifics and context of my situation before assumptions were made. What I found especially inappropriate was the implication that I was being dishonest simply because my experience did not immediately fit a predetermined narrative. People seeking legal guidance during difficult employment situations deserve to be treated with professionalism and respect, regardless of whether a firm decides to take the case. I was also told that medical conditions unrelated to work are not protected at all in California, which is simply inaccurate. This response suggests a fundamental misunderstanding of basic employment law principles, which is disappointing for a legal intake representative.

An Exceptional Employment Attorney Who Truly Advocates for Her Clients!!!!…read more Marina Fraigun was referred to me by an attorney friend whom I trust and respect. I was looking for an employment attorney to review a separation agreement from my employer and advise me on whether the terms were fair, reasonable, and consistent with what is usual and customary. Before I was referred to Marina, I found it surprisingly difficult to find an employment attorney who was willing to provide this type of guidance. Many of the attorneys I contacted seemed primarily interested in cases involving litigation or a quick path to a lawsuit. I was looking for someone who would take the time to understand my situation, carefully review the agreement, and provide thoughtful, practical advice. The attorneys I encountered before Marina simply weren't people I felt comfortable working with. From my first conversation with Marina, I knew I had found the right attorney. She was direct, honest, knowledgeable, and completely no-nonsense. She thoroughly reviewed my separation agreement and took the time to explain not only the language of the agreement (paragraph by paragraph) but also the nuances and legal considerations that I had not considered. In particular, Marina provided valuable guidance regarding the payment of final salary and accrued PTO and discussed California Labor Code § 203 and the potential waiting-time penalties that can apply when final wages are not timely paid - something that my situation had. What I appreciated most was that she didn't simply answer my questions--she educated me and gave me the information I needed to make informed decisions for myself. Marina went above and beyond what I expected. She was responsive, thorough, practical, and genuinely invested in making sure I understood my rights and options. I never felt rushed or like I was simply another case. She gave me the confidence to move forward knowing that I had someone knowledgeable in my corner. I would absolutely recommend Marina to anyone who needs an employment attorney in any capacity, particularly someone looking for an attorney who will provide honest advice rather than simply look for an opportunity to litigate for the sake of litigating. Marina is someone I would return to without hesitation if I ever have another employment-related matter. She is whip smart and very protective of her client. If I come across a friend who needs employment advice, Marina is the first person I will look to.
