Went back the other night for a farewell dinner for a colleague of my wife, who was visiting from overseas, and amazed that staff remembered our name - and no, we didn't do anything outrageous last time! Food excellent from one of the set menus, service attentive without being in the slightest bit pushy, and although there seemed to be some kind of electrical trauma going on - lights flickering occasionally - we enjoyed a long, relaxing and delicious dinner. The owner and manager is still involved in the daily running of the restaurant and is often the friendly welcoming host that greets you at the door. This is not your run of the mill Chinese restaurant, everything about the place, screams class. They have proper linen, good quality crockery and cutlery. The staff are extremely smart and professional. They will even teach novices, how to use chop sticks Cutlery is available. The environment has recently had a make-over and is clean and well decorated. The oriental theme is very gently done. Although, they can seat approx 100+ people at any given time, the restaurant has several smaller areas making for a more intimate experience, you can ask for to be seated in these areas when you book. (Booking not always necessary, but to avoid disappointment) The menu holds no surprises, however, the delivery is wonderful mouthwatering, delicious food, prepared with care, skill and knowledge. This is high-end eating. The bill is not a surprise either - a 3 course meal for 2, with drinks cost on average £40-£50. And they do specials! 2-4-1 on the set menu. The facilities are clean and well presented. Unfortunately, although the restaurant is largely, wheelchair accessible, the facilities are not. I can't BIG UP this place enough!

By 8.30 we had only just been given our starters, by 9 we had to call the waiter over to order the duck pancakes. Once finished our used plates were just left on the table. At the same time as we had ordered the duck we also ordered 4 main dishes which did not arrive until 9.45, too late to think about ordering anything else. At £21.95 per person this is the worst value meal we've ever had. The bill arrived and annoyingly had a service charge included - admittedly this had then been deducted with a note saying 'sincere apologies'. I complained at the time and was offered a free bottle of house wine to take away with me but since we had only been drinking beers and soft drinks this offer seemed incongruous to say the least. We were left thoroughly embarrassed as we had suggested the Kar Ling Kwong to our friends. I later wrote twice to the proprietor assuming I might receive an apology but was not even given the courtesy of a response. We are a large family of 10 adults who previously visited the restaurant often but have decided we will not be returning in the future as a restaurant which does not value its customers does not deserve their money. The only plus here for many people is the fact that you can fill your face for a set price. Great for fatties, ok for the average diner. The staff are very friendly and will try to accommodate you, whether in a small or large party, as best they can. My main issue with this establishment is the cleanliness. Local Authority EHOs have threatened to close this place down on many occassions due to its very poor hygiene standards and the continued rodent problems from which it suffers. Personnally I would avoid this place as there are far better oriental cuisine restaurants (which are far more hygeinic) to chose from in the local area and if you want an all you can eat oriental restaurant then visit Camberley because they have an excellent one!

The prawn stir fry along with the mussels in black bean sauce is just one of the many dishes that is not to be missed. It may be lacking when it comes to dessert but all the other dishes, more than make up for it.
