Before my appointment, I messaged the salon owner and explained that I'm very nervous about getting haircuts because I've had a bad experience in the past. She reassured me that I would be in good hands with Cassandra. I also personally explained my concerns to Cassandra when I arrived. Unfortunately, the haircut I received was the worst haircut I've ever had. When I left, my hair was noticeably uneven all around. I was extremely upset because I had specifically communicated how anxious I was about my hair and trusted the salon to take care of me. During the appointment, Cassandra also suggested using a hot tool to place curls at the bottom of my hair so they would hold. I did not ask for this additional service, yet I was charged over $120 for the haircut and blow-dry. After I contacted the salon owner to explain that my haircut was completely uneven, I was offered the option of returning that same day so Cassandra could fix it. After having an experience like this, I was not comfortable going back to the same stylist or salon to have the haircut corrected. I declined and asked about receiving a refund. What disappointed me even more was how the situation was handled afterward. I was only offered a refund for the haircut and not the blow-dry service. As a stay-at-home mom with two little ones, I don't have an income of my own and rarely get the opportunity to take time away for myself. Spending over $120 on a haircut and blow-dry was already a significant expense for me. I then had to arrange childcare, spend additional money, and find another hairstylist to correct the haircut. This wasn't simply a haircut I didn't personally like. My hair was left visibly uneven, and I had to spend even more time and money having another professional fix it. I'm extremely disappointed not only with the haircut itself, but with how the salon owner handled my concerns afterward. I expected empathy and accountability, especially after I had made my anxiety about haircuts clear before my appointment. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not recommend Granada Hair and Makeup to anyone looking for a haircut.

I got in touch with Neda and finally gave it a try! She is amazing! I have very tick and course hair, and she completely understands what that is like. She knew what I was looking for, my highlights took so fast, I couldn't believe it! Also, they turned out so nice, that for the first time I didn't require toner. She styled my hair very well, and gave me great service. Everyone there seems nice and attentive. I notice they also have a nail station, and one of the other stylist also threads, which is a big plus for me. I am also considering getting the Brazilian blowout with Neda. I went in there hoping to get a complete color change, there was no change at all, it was exactly the same...Orangey blond (which I hate and specifically asked for a platinum blond color). The color was awful and I spent a mint on it. Also, I told NEDI the hairstylist that I can't afford a hair cut so please don't give me one. She says, "you're hair needs it really bad" so then she says let me just give you a trim (she said for free). Well she ended up cutting it fully and then says well I accidentally kept cutting so I'll take $15.00 off (I still ended paying $50.00 for a haircut I did NOT ask for). This place is a RIP OFF...I do NOT recommend using them unless you want to get raped financially.

She is incredibly personable and just a kind human being. She is not someone who is going to push you into something you are not comfortable with, and she's very open and communicative. Her experience shows in her ability to turn the inspiration photos to real life. I opted to do the hair/makeup trial, which I very much recommend. Not only will you get the chance to experience what it's like to worth with Jana, but it'll help steer your vision if you're not sure where to start. As someone who does not wear makeup or do my hair in my everyday life, this was pretty key to figuring out the look I was going for. I ended up changing the hairstyle completely from the trial vs the wedding day (I brought inspiration photos for each look) and Jana was absolutely game for it all. We both ended up loving how my hair looked the day of the wedding, and it framed my face in a more flattering way. Also, I absolutely loved how my makeup turned out. I still looked like me, but just enhanced. She blended different colors to customize and match my skin tone, and also custom blended the lip color shade. The makeup also felt really light and didn't appear to be caked on, AND it lasted to the end of the evening. My mother-in-law also had similar compliments regarding the lightness of the makeup. Jana brought her colleague Kathleen to do the hair/makeup for my mother-in-law and makeup for my mom. Kathleen brought the same easy going energy, and it was just a fun gab fest in the getting ready room. Jana also took a lot of pictures during the process for the trial, and also the day of the wedding, and sent them over the next day (She would have airdropped it, but I don't have an iphone). So I had some getting ready photos of my special day immediately, instead of having to wait for the professional photos to come back.
